Completing this quest unlocks the restaurant once unlocked you can repair the restaurant like you repair the stables and then it will be ready to use! If you complete this quest in the time limit you will unlock the chef outfits for your adult sims. You can still complete this quest once the time is up to unlock the restaurant but you won’t get the chef outfits

- Build the restaurant- times and prices may vary (need more money?)
- Call a sim to the restaurant
- Be nice to the Grouch- 4 minutes
- Taste the Grouch’s special dish- 1 minute (click on grouch)
- Complain to the Grouch- 2 hours 10 minutes
- Call the first judge on a phone- 3 minutes 12 seconds
- Take Wumples’ order- 5 minutes (he will appear at the house you are at)
- Cook any dish for Wumples’- 1 minute (cheese on toast)
Select cooking on stove, pick dish, click on bubble above sims head when dish is ready

- Serve food to Wumples’- 10 minutes (click plate for the option)
- Call the second judge on a phone- 3 minutes 12 seconds
- Take Santa’s order- 5 minutes
- Cook pizza for Santa- 40 minutes (you need to be level 2 at cooking and have a microwave)
- Serve food to Santa- 10 minutes (click plate for the option)
- Call the final judge on a phone- 3 minutes 12 seconds
- Take the Grouch’s order- 8 hours 30 minutes
- Make a quiche for the Grouch- 4 hours (you need to be level 4 at cooking and have a 2 star fridge and oven)
- Serve food to Grouch- 10 minutes (click plate for option)
- Investigate what the Grouch dropped- 5 minutes (blue X will appear at front of the house you are at)
- Have a sim make a mud pie- 3 hours 30 minutes (using a garden patch)
- Go to the restaurant
- Give mud pie to Grouch- 4 hours 20 minutes
- Open front door- S25,000- 1 hour 30 minutes

You cannot miss main quests they have to be completed in order. You need to complete all previous quests (list can be found here) and reach level 16 before you can start this quest

Yes, you just need to complete all previous quests then this quest will start automatically

No, you cannot build the restaurant until you get the goal in this quest
How do I send my sim to the restaurant?
Go to the restaurant and click on the whistle next to a sim who isn’t busy on the simtracker, this post explains more about the simtracker
How do I taste the Grouchs special dish?
Click on the Grouch and select the option
How do I cook a dish for Wumples?
Click on a stove and select cooking, pick the dish (cheese on toast is the quickest but you will need a toaster) wait for it to be cooked and then click on the bubble that appears above your sims head when the dish is ready
Why do blue footprints appear when I try to use an item?
Blue footprints appear when your sim cannot access an item you want them to use, you need to either rotate the item or move an item that has been placed in front of it so they can use it
How do I serve the food?
Click on the plates and select the option
I cannot find Wumples/Santa/Grouch! What should I do?
Firstly restart your device then try looking around all your houses in simtown for them, they have got to be somewhere!
Pizza is locked, how do I cook it?
Your sim needs to be level 2 at cooking and have a microwave at that house
I cannot make the quiche, it is greyed out, why?
Your sim needs to be level 4 at cooking and have a 2 star fridge and stove
How do I give the mud pie to the Grouch? It disappeared!
You don’t see the mud pie, just click on the Grouch and select the option to give mudpie
My game says there is something under construction when I try to open the front door, what do I do?
Firstly you need to read the pop up as it tells you exactly what is under construction, once you have go there and click on it to finish building, then you will be able to open the front door to the restaurant (it will be something you have built previously but probably just haven’t clicked to finish building yet!)

Yes you have to finish it to unlock the restaurant before you can move onto the next quest

No, you cannot redo quests

No, the only way to get the limited time prizes is by completing the quest in the time limit

How do I get the kitchen doors open it won’t let me fix it
Have you finished the dining area? You may have missed something
I finished the dining room ( there are no more blue pop up things) but the kitchen and other smaller rooms beside it won’t open….
Then you have missed something, there is a broken tile hiding in the corner where one of the chandeliers was so you might have missed that

How does it vary?
I said it MAY vary, sometimes the price and time depends on how many other buildings you already have in your town so I never put the price as people always moan about it.

Does any one know how long it takes to get to level 4 so i can cook quiche icant buybthe The chopping boards or 2 star microwave
I just made chili for an hour several times, I’m not sure how many times exactly

So I just realized that no matter if you do the 8 hour task, or the 1 min task, you still only get 3% increase to the skill. You get the increase per food item, not per xp or time like usual! So DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME on the long tasks, and just make tomato cheese sandwich over and over.
You just have to keep cooking. Times vary but I took the longest cook job which last an hour and kept repeating it to level up. which happened the very next day

How do I get a two star microwave
I’m guessing you have to be on level 24 to get it
If it says it unlocks then then yes. Just get a one star one for now
Thanks but I tried using the 1 star and you can’t. This is really stupid that you have to wait to unlock the 2 star microwave at lvl 24, if the quest unlocks at lvl 16.
You must be able to to use a 1 star microwave, they wouldn’t make you wait until level 24 to complete the quest.
Have you got the microwave and stove in the same house?

You can buy a house that has a 2 star microwave. Takes less time than waiting to reach level 24

I have a pool in my front yard, and Wumples is pulling a Jesus move by walking over it, I think she is stuck. I cant get any sim to talk to her. What should I do?
Go to another house and if Wumples doesn’t appear use the whistle on the simtracker to bring her to that house instead.
I cant seem to continue repairing my restaurant. After ive repaired everything in the second room inthink its the dining area, they didnt give me anything else to repair and the restaurant is unfinished then. What do i do? Please help.

There are 8 dining chairs that need individual repairing but won’t have the bubble pop up above them.
The bubble doesn’t appear on everything, just click on the chairs to repair them

Yeah it takes a while! It took me about 3 days to do the downstairs and now I’m waiting for the stairs to build :p
I finished making the quiche for the Grouch but when I was about to serve him the food he disappeared from the Sim Tracker and it’s been like this for four days now so I can’t complete the quest. 😦

Are you on another quest at the moment? You need to complete quests in order, this quest comes after the preteen quest
I was expecting the Multi-Story quest but I got this quest instead! Really fun to do. Thank you for your posts on this, it really helps planning the game. Right now I only have the Opening Doors to restaurant left on this quest with three days left to complete, but I’m saving up simoleons for the next quest.

I think so. My Kindle automatically updates the game. The icon of the game has changed to the fork and knife….
I have forced an update so maybe that will fix it.

I love this update!!! I’m so excited to build everything especially the bar. It’s just annoying how it takes such a looong ass time to clean the place I hope they increase the max people that you can whistle. Also, the chef is only a hobby right? It’d be cool if it was an occupation too but whatevs. Did you finish the 2nd floor already? Love your blog btw 🙂

I love this idea/update but am a little upset with how EA did it. You have to pay to lock each individual area with a door?! Ugh!
I know but at least the kitchen unlocks the toilet area too 🙂 so there are only three places to unlock downstairs
Yes I thought also once you buy, build the restaurant that’s it…..whoa was I wrong.
And now the alien quest wants me to buy $ 16,000 on electronics…….nobody needs that many tv sets, stereos and computers…holy crap lol. Wasn’t that a nice surprise after that restaurant!!!!

I’ve been making repairs to the restaurant and there’s more repairs to be done but there are no more exclamation marks to click on. My sims have finished all they can. Is this a bug or am I missing something? Thanks!
The marks dont appear on everything, just click on the broken items to fix them 🙂

You need 3 sims, one to cook something, the second to wait (click on the booth infront of the kitchen, behind the tables) and a third to sit (click on a table to have meal)
Then the waiter will bring the food over to the customer 🙂

The only fast way is to adopt a toddler for real money, and no another persons toddler can’t do it

I feel like i’m missing something:( I’m on the “call second judge” part of the quest, but when I go to the phone(with the same sim who called first judge) there’s no option for it. I’m in the same house and using same phone and there’s still no option for it. Do you think I should just try the “call the judge” option again for 8 hours?
