Completing this quest unlocks the restaurant once unlocked you can repair the restaurant like you repair the stables and then it will be ready to use! If you complete this quest in the time limit you will unlock the chef outfits for your adult sims. You can still complete this quest once the time is up to unlock the restaurant but you won’t get the chef outfits

- Build the restaurant- times and prices may vary (need more money?)
- Call a sim to the restaurant
- Be nice to the Grouch- 4 minutes
- Taste the Grouch’s special dish- 1 minute (click on grouch)
- Complain to the Grouch- 2 hours 10 minutes
- Call the first judge on a phone- 3 minutes 12 seconds
- Take Wumples’ order- 5 minutes (he will appear at the house you are at)
- Cook any dish for Wumples’- 1 minute (cheese on toast)
Select cooking on stove, pick dish, click on bubble above sims head when dish is ready

- Serve food to Wumples’- 10 minutes (click plate for the option)
- Call the second judge on a phone- 3 minutes 12 seconds
- Take Santa’s order- 5 minutes
- Cook pizza for Santa- 40 minutes (you need to be level 2 at cooking and have a microwave)
- Serve food to Santa- 10 minutes (click plate for the option)
- Call the final judge on a phone- 3 minutes 12 seconds
- Take the Grouch’s order- 8 hours 30 minutes
- Make a quiche for the Grouch- 4 hours (you need to be level 4 at cooking and have a 2 star fridge and oven)
- Serve food to Grouch- 10 minutes (click plate for option)
- Investigate what the Grouch dropped- 5 minutes (blue X will appear at front of the house you are at)
- Have a sim make a mud pie- 3 hours 30 minutes (using a garden patch)
- Go to the restaurant
- Give mud pie to Grouch- 4 hours 20 minutes
- Open front door- S25,000- 1 hour 30 minutes

You cannot miss main quests they have to be completed in order. You need to complete all previous quests (list can be found here) and reach level 16 before you can start this quest

Go to the restaurant and click on the whistle next to a sim who isn’t busy on the simtracker, this post explains more about the simtracker
How do I taste the Grouchs special dish?
Click on the Grouch and select the option
How do I cook a dish for Wumples?
Click on a stove and select cooking, pick the dish (cheese on toast is the quickest but you will need a toaster) wait for it to be cooked and then click on the bubble that appears above your sims head when the dish is ready
Why do blue footprints appear when I try to use an item?
Blue footprints appear when your sim cannot access an item you want them to use, you need to either rotate the item or move an item that has been placed in front of it so they can use it
How do I serve the food?
Click on the plates and select the option
I cannot find Wumples/Santa/Grouch! What should I do?
Firstly restart your device then try looking around all your houses in simtown for them, they have got to be somewhere!
Pizza is locked, how do I cook it?
Your sim needs to be level 2 at cooking and have a microwave at that house
I cannot make the quiche, it is greyed out, why?
Your sim needs to be level 4 at cooking and have a 2 star fridge and stove
How do I give the mud pie to the Grouch? It disappeared!
You don’t see the mud pie, just click on the Grouch and select the option to give mudpie
My game says there is something under construction when I try to open the front door, what do I do?
Firstly you need to read the pop up as it tells you exactly what is under construction, once you have go there and click on it to finish building, then you will be able to open the front door to the restaurant (it will be something you have built previously but probably just haven’t clicked to finish building yet!)

I figured Out How To Find Him!! Click On The Sim Who Has Interacted With Him And Go To Their Relationships .. Click On The Grouch And That Will Locate Him. Hope This Helps 🙂

You need a toddler, there isn’t much I can do sorry! you need a married couple to make a baby then you need to age it into a toddler.

Do you not have a baby yet? You really need a baby to age into a toddler (this overall will cost you 8LPs) so you will just have to save up, there isn’t much else you can do, sorry!

Hi, your posts are great and so helpful! I’ve been on sims freeplay for over 2 years now and I still get really confused with things so your posts have really helped. I was waiting to get some money on my iTunes account to buy the long hairstyles as I didn’t complete the quest in time to get them for free! Well anyway I got some money like last week and I went to the online store, I scrolled along to find they were gone! Do you know where they went or how I could get them back?!?!?!?

Yes unfortunately they have removed all items that you could have won by completing quests in time from the online store so it is no longer possible to buy them, sorry!

What’s your advice for getting to level 4 in cooking fast anough?
If you have time to spare do the 1 minute option over and over, strangely doing a longer recipe doesn’t increase your skill level quicker

So I just finished building the restaurant and I can’t find the grouch. He’s not at the restaurant anywhere nor at any of my houses. Am I missing something?
It’s a glitch, someone said they fixed it by remembering which of your sims spoke to him, going to your relationships tab and clicking on the picture of the grouch and he should appear 🙂

You can start cooking the pizza when you get the goal to take santas order and you can start the quiche early, that’s about it
If we don’t finish the quest in time, is it possible to buy the chef outfits on the online store at all? I messed up trying to build the restaurant and accidentally clicked on the costume and swim store, so now I won’t be able to finish the quest in time 😦

Hi I’ve tried everything and I still can’t get the grouch back. He’s not in any of my houses and none of my sims have a relationship with him! It’s been a week now! HELP 😦
One of your sims must have spoke to him at the beginning of the quest, that will be in the relationship tab.
I believe that I have everything in the dining room fixed but it still won’t let me enter the other rooms. The door to the bathroom will open when my sim is in front of it but it won’t let me enter

I started doing the quests after almost a year of not playing the Sims a couple of weeks ago so a lot of the quests had been automatically passed because I already had married couples, preteens, beachside houses etc. I just had a look through your blog and saw this quest and noticed that I haven’t done the restaurant quest yet and I’m now on the road to fame quest so don’t understand why it had been skipped. Any suggestions? I also can’t even find a logo to build it on the SIM town or mystery island.

The restaurant one is a new one, you need to update your game to access this one and others you have mussed but if you are playing on a windows phone you won’t get some of the latest updates
I have just now bought the resturant thing, and it says I need to find the grouch and he’s not there (he’s also not in any of my relationship bar) is there anyway I can get him to the resturant or have I just wasted 350,000 sim money? Please answer quickly and thank you!

This is a glitch unfortunately so you haven’t done anything wrong, the only thing you can really do is wait and see if he returns, maybe contact EA just incase they don’t know about this issue so they can sort it out but you aren’t the first person to have this problem so hopefully they are working on fixing it!
Hi! First of all, I want to say that I love your blog! I go on this whenever I’m stuck on Sims FreePlay… Lol. Anyway, I have a bug problem here. I got the preteen quest before I got the Sous Judgmental. I was forces to age my only toddler into a preteen because of the quest. Now that I’m on this quest, it’s telling me to get a toddler again? Ahhhhh! 😦 I don’t have another toddler and it says that to get another toddler, I need to pay $5 on android!! 😦 Is there any other way to get a toddler? Or to skip this step of the quest? OR ANYTHING?!? D: Please help me!!! I don’t want to reset the game, I came so far…
Thanks 🙂 Why were you forced to age your toddler? you don’t need to age them to complete the quest. If you don’t want to buy one the only thing you can do is get a married couple to have a baby and then age the baby using a cake

I have nearly completed the quest for the restaurant however I need the grouch to come back and it’s been about 2 weeks now! I’ve tried resetting the game , I’ve looked in all my houses and the restaurant everyday and still not there. Two of my sims had relationships with the grouch and it’s not on their relationships. I had hoped this issue would be fixed by now but it’s not, sorry I can’t do anything to fix this you are just going to have to wait to see if he comes back, if not maybe contact EA so they know a lot of people are having this problem still

There was an update last night and the times has been shortened so it is now possible to complete it within the time limit.
They have changed the times again?! I’ve already updated this quest once! 😦

I had my restaurant and when I was fixing it, it only fixed it up a little and now it won’t let me fix it anymore when clearly there is a mess everywhere. I don’t know how to make it work. Everytime I put a sim there to try and help, it still won’t work. Help 😔

I think it would be good if you warn those at the “preparing for preteens” level not to age their toddler until after this quest, especially if most people have only 1 toddler. I almost aged mine until I looked into future quests and saw this. You’ve got a great site going, keep it up! 🙂

Ok so I am in the restaurant quest and my goal is to cook pizza for the Santa.I am not able to complete though I am in level 2 of cooking hobby.The food items of level are all disabled .Is it a glitch or something .Please help

For the quest you only need 1 for building the restauarant afterwards you can have up to 10 sims clearing it at once.

for those who can’t find the Grouch – after a toddler makes the mud pie, send the toddler to the restaurant, and then call an adult to give the Grouch the mud pie. i’ve read this somewhere and did it, the Grouch was in front of the restaurant. i was afraid i wouldn’t be able to find him as he dissapeared from my simtracker , so i did a little research, hopefully it helps. thank you for the blog, it’s very helpfull!

You might have covered it, but can’t see it, can you have a sim start cooking the quiche (4hrs) half way through talking to the grouch (8hrs)

If your game is compatible (you can still update it) then yes, it should appear once the current quest you are on is complete.

You don’t go back to complete them, if you have the latest update of the game you will get the quests at some point
