The Sims Freeplay- Adding Neighbours

If you are playing on an Apple product you have the choice between Game Center and/or Facebook to add neighbours (although they have now made the Game Center option difficult) and if you are on an Android you will have the option of Facebook only as Google+ is no longer available.

Apple and Androids: Connecting The Sims Freeplay to Facebook

To add a neighbour using Facebook you need to have your game connected to your account, to do this log into the Facebook app then go to settings in the Sims Freeplay (the green button with 3 white dots in it) and you will see these options appear:

Click on the key button (bottom right) and it will say not signed in, press the green log in button and it will go to Facebook then come back to the game and you should see this (check that it is the right account):

NOTE: my Facebook account has been suspended so I am unable to add anymore players, sorry!

Facebook Adding

Once connected, when you add a friend on Facebook, if they play The Sims Freeplay and have connected their game they will be added to your party boat automatically.

Apple: Game Center Adding

NOTE: as of iOS 10 the Game Center app has been removed you can still add neighbours but they have made it a lot harder to do, you now have to iMessage the person you want to add or you can also allow nearby people to add you from Settings > Game Center > Allow nearby people to add you through WiFi or Bluetooth. If you don’t have iOS 10 or above the steps below should still work but you may find players on iOS 10 or above are unable to accept your requests.

Game Center is an app on your Apple product, it should already be on your device.
Open it up and you will see 5 tabs at the bottom of the screen

Me, Friends, Games, Challenges and Turns

  • In the me tab you can set your username, this is what people use to add you, you can also change your photo here.
  • In the friends tab you will see all of your friends you already have and any friend requests you have
  • In the games tab you will see all the games you play and all of your achievements

To add a player you need to know their username or email address, once you do go to the friends tab and in the top right hand corner there is a +

This will open up a new window, in the ‘to’ box write the players username or email and in the big box below you can add a message to that person.

 Once they have accepted your request if they have the game they will appear in your party boat.

You can have 500 friends on Game Center but only 100 appear in your party boat.

Androids: Google Play Games Adding

Google+ has been removed so you can no longer add players this way on an Android (Facebook is your only option) but you can still save your game with Google Play Games

Deleting a Neighbour

To delete a neighbour you just need to delete them from Facebook and/or Game Center

Help! My neighbours can’t see an item in my town, why is that?

They can’t see it because they aren’t seeing the most up to date version of your game, you need to connect to the cloud for them to see this version of your game.

 Please note it can take a while for neighbours to appear in your party boat after adding so be patient!

  1. Hi , I just wanted to say something about the game (Sims Freeplay). It has become a job instead of a game!!! I don’t like anything about the last upgrade!! My 5 Second toilet is now 24 Second and that goes for everything that was fast. Now you just can’t go on the game and manage 34 sims any more or reach any goals!! 😡 If you have 30 min. To play your game there is know way you can get through all the houses. I asked my granddaughter yesterday how long I had been in this one house and she replied 10 mins. I was so upset that I had wasted 10 mins of my time in one house and that was only three sims.
    Also if you could help me with the last name. All my sims have only four different last names. I have tried to change them when they are babies and you pick thier names but it won’t let me change the last name. Needless to say I have a lot of Baker in my town😜
    Sorry for the rant but I’m so sad about my game. 😢 Thanks for listening. Hope you can help. 😊🌺 didn’t want to leave on a sour note. 🌸🌷🍀🌺😀

    • I know its very annoying about the time changes, I don’t know why they have done it!
      Why can’t you change their last names? Does it not let you click on the last name when you make them? I’ve not heard of anyone else with this problem, sorry! :/ the only thing you can really do is either leave them with the same name or change them for 12LPs each using the ultimate makeover- if it lets you! I probably wouldn’t bother with changing them if you have completed the life dreams and legacies quest then they won’t be living long anyway! I hope this in some way helps!

  3. What’s the limit of friends you can add in sims freeplay using a facebook acount? I only see 100 of them even if I know there are more…is it useless to add more people who play the game or not? I mean for simoleons and the ocasional lifepoint you recieve daily on the party boat, I noticed the more friends you have the bigger the prizes.

  8. PLEEEEASE HELP ME!!!😩 at the beginning of the game, i was logged in with Game Center, and now, when I go to the party boat, it says ‘there was a problem logging in’ but when I press log in, it opens Facebook but I don’t have Facebook! What should I do?

    • go onto gamecenter and make sure your profile is still on there
      Then when you go back onto your game is should say something like ‘welcome back:’gamecentername” at the top, sometimes it appears saying unable to connect to gamcenter, if it does click retry

  9. I don’t have a Face book account and don’t want one (far too many annoying distant relatives and acquaintances that I don’t want too be friends with, but don’t want to upset them by turning down their friend requests.)

    Can I still use Facebook for the neighbours and SP points without an account? If so, how do I do it?

      • How do stop them from finding my account? Sorry if that sounds like a stupid question, but I really, really don’t know much about using Facebook at all.

        The one time I tried to create an account there, the First thing that happened was it instantly gave me a list of all my real-life friends, relatives and distant acquaintances who had were there. That freaked me out so much that I cancelled everything and deleted the account. (Seriously, how did it know I knew them!?!)

        Is there a “Don’t even try to work out who might know me!” option when creating an account? If so, where is it?

      • Its probably because you wrote where you live and other information like that, just make an account and don’t post any details such as your birthday or where you live or they can find you, and if you don’t put any pictures up, they aren’t going to know its you

    I just recently got the nerve to click on the party boat log into FB. However, I just saw a post on another site about Sims stealing from their neighbors. Is that true risk of being logged into FB???
    I would like to play the game to its fullest but not at the risk of my things getting stolen.

  14. Hi love your blog! Im just wondering can party boat friends tell if you have visited their towns? I tried googling about it but i cant find a straight answer- like if you visit and do stuff in their town can my facebook friends see

  15. In Game Center I don’t have the same buttons on the bottom of my screen. Mine has me, games, challenges, and turns. I have tried requesting friends via the friend tab but either everyone has ignored me or it isn’t working. Any ideas?

  16. I really don’t like having to log in to facebook to do the party boat quest. I hate when people bug me about their games on facebook and I don’t want to be the guy that does that to other people. Also I don’t like linking my own personal profile to this game. Its annoying because I really don’t care about the party boat quest I just want to get it out of my queue so I can do some of the other tasks available that are behind it, like learning to cook and what not.

    • social tasks don’t end, they won’t stop so you can do the cooking quest, you need to complete the quest you are on right now to unlock new quests
      I would suggest you just don’t connect to facebook and don’t do social tasks

  24. Help! I can’t log in my FB Account anymore, it says there’s a problem logging in and that it’s expired, How can I visit my neighbors now in the party boat? and how can I save my account? it’s such a waste to start over, can you help me?

  26. I have almost all of what people need to complete tasks minus the Scandinavian house,the frisbee, and multiple animals at one house. I have all of the Hobby items(scattered around different houses), the haunted house(which has a pool w/ diving board, haunted items, and a fire pole) and the teen idol mansion(which has a pool, inflatables, lounges, a trampoline, a foosball table, all of the instruments, ect) My Game Center screen name is beatleswhovian80 if anyone wants to add me please feel free. I am in need of a neighbor with a fashion studio.

    • I too have all of that scattered around. I have not and will not do the life dreams quest (as I am attached to all my families) but could use a good neighbor with stuff too.

    • There is a problem with the party boat at the moment where some people, including me cannot see any of their neighbours and their neighbours can’t see them, there is no fix to sort this out yet- I am hoping EA are working on a fix as they know about the issue.

  33. I was just wondering if there’s any benefit to adding more neighbors. Once you are getting the 5 daily rewards and your neighbors seem to have all the things necessary for social quest completion, is there a reason to keep adding neighbors? Thank you for all your hard work here!

I logged in with my Facebook account successfully for social quests, I know that many of my friends play this game (at least ı know my brother is playing) but I don’t see any neighbours in my party boat. the game can reach my Facebook account, I can see my friend list there, but no neighbours. even I send a request to my brother, but it did not work. what can ı do:(

  35. Hey there! My friend just joined sims freeplay and we have only just become neighbors. I’m on level 47 and she is on level 12. When she visits my town through the party boat its not actually my current town? Its a much earlier version. When you visit someone elses town do you visit a past version, the verison of the level you yourself are on? haha I hope that made sense!!

  38. Hi there, I have a question; I made a second facebook account so my main facebook account wont get cluttered. That second account has lots of sims playing friends. But when I log on with that second account I dont see any neigbours. Do you know what I can do to make my neighbours appear on the partyboat?

  39. Do you have any idea why people might not be showing up to the party boat when I know they’re linked to facebook? When I downloaded the game I automatically had 4 neighbors waiting for me on Facebook. Weeks later my boyfriend downloads it and connects to his Facebook but we’re not showing up as neighbors for one another. Do you know what the glitch could be?

  41. When people add me on sims free play via fb i click on it and it takes me to google play and says this item is not available in your country

    • you don’t need to click on that, your neighbours should automatically appear in your party boat once you are friends but at the moment there is a problem where some party boats are showing no neighbours and their neighbours can’t see them, hopefully they will fix this issue out soon!

  44. Using Android and none of my FB friends show in my party boat. I’ve tried everything what do I do?

    • There is a problem at the moment, I am having it too where your neighbours don’t show, EA are aware of the problem so hopefully they will sort it out in the next update
