This quest unlocks patios to begin you need to find the woman wearing the hard hat in the park called Bree. If you complete this quest in the time limit you will unlock the make out couch, you can still complete this quest once the time limit is up to add patios but you won’t get the couch
You cannot complete this quest at the same time as any other discovery quest
HOW LONG DOES THIS QUEST TAKE TO COMPLETE?
Times may vary depending on the star rating the item has
- Talk to Bree- 1 minute (woman in hard hat)
- Ponder in a chair- 2 minutes 24 seconds
- Call a friend- 4 minutes
- Call a cab to the DIY home (select option on a phone)
- Question Bree- 3 hours 30 minutes
- Join Bree for an interview- 18 hours 30 minutes
- Watch the interview at the DIY home- 4 minutes 30 seconds (TV)
- Read the DIY magazine at the DIY home- 9 hours 30 minutes
- Have 2 sims at the DIY home
- Discuss patios with a sim- 10 minutes (select interaction between two sims)
- Present ideas to Bree- 45 minutes
- Measure patio space- 18 hours 30 minutes (go to a sims home and click on the x near the mailbox)
- Finalise the patio plan- 6 hours 30 minutes (talk to Bree)
- Bake pumpkin pie at DIY home- 10 hours (can be started early, doesn’t have to be completed at the DIY house)
- Prepare lemonade at the DIY home- 3 hours 10 minutes (fridge)
- Clean the DIY home- 1 day (cupboard)
- Buy outdoor decorations (spend S5,000- you can buy items such as fire pit, bamboo lamps or garden screens that cost in total at least S5,000)
- Fall asleep in a bath- 2 hours 20 minutes (can be started early)
- Hang out with a sim- 1 day (select interaction with another sim)
- Call Bree- 4 minutes (phone)
- Build a patio (go to the home store and open the patio tab): To build a patio surface, touch and drag on the grass
like building a room, green means you can build, red means that there is something in the way, you can also resize a patio by dragging the white highlighted edges.
And like building a pool you can join patios together.
- Have 3 sims at DIY home
- Have 3 sims party with Bree- 8 hours 30 minutes (outdoor stereo)
- Talk to Bree- 5 minutes
- Have all sims leave DIY home (use the simtracker to send them home)

STARTING THE LOVEY DOVEY BALCONY QUEST: you need to have completed the multi story renovations quest then you will find Bree at the park 24 hours after you complete the patio quest!
Prize: Make Out Couch
Cost? First one is free after that they cost S7,500 each
Where can it be found? It can be found in the living room section, teens can snuggle (one sim chills out- 8 minutes and the other selects snuggle- 16 minutes) adults can make out (one sim waits for make out partner- 8 minutes and the other selects make out- 16 minutes)
Is it worth it? It’s nice that teens can now cuddle together but it’s a strange prize for this quest! It’s different but I wouldn’t worry too much if you don’t complete in the time limit
Even if you don’t complete the quest in the time limit you will still unlock these patio tables and chairs:
All of these items can be found in the outdoor furniture section and the chairs can also be found in the dining room section

What do you mean when you say a goal can be started early?
Any goal that you can normally do can be started early because you will have access to it and any goal that you can’t normally do you will have to wait until you get the goal to be able to complete it
The tip with this method is to put the sim doing that action early in a different house that you cannot go to until you get that goal or it will not work
I can’t complete the goal to buy outdoor decorations, why?
You need to buy from the outdoor decorations section only

Did a pop up appear saying you completed it? or is it still in your queue?
If it said you completed it you may want to contact EA to see if they can fix this issue for you as unfortunately I cannot fix technical issues.

I can’t find the 5000 worth item on outdoor decoration section! Do you know what should I buy?
If you can’t find one you will need to buy 2 or more items that add up to the cost of 5000, so if you have unlocked garden screens you can buy a 3000 one and a 2000 one

Hi, I have completed the quest and won the couch but it will not let me place it onto my patio 😦 any ideas? The patio is huge and now I have no money left to do anything else, feel cheated.
You cannot place items that go inside your house on a patio, only garden furniture can go on your patio.

In the basement if the DIY house there is a fish that you can inspire your Sims with. Can you buy it
If you complete the life dreams and legacies quest in the time limit you can unlock it to buy.

I would have gotten frustrated with everyone asking why they can’t get past the buy $5000 in outdoor decorations (when they are actually buying furniture!) you seem so kind and patient. You will have to wait a whole day after you complete the patio quest then go to the park and you will find Bree to be able to start the balcony quest.

I noticed at the DIY house that they have dark Scandinavian patio tiles, but when building my own patio there wasn’t an option to buy those kind of tile. Besides buying the DIY house and expanding the patio their, is there any other way to get that kind of patio? Thanks! This blog is really helpful!

I got to the last step, Have all sims leave DIY home, and sent everyone home–but the quest is still stuck on that step, and won’t move on. Now I can’t get to the DIY home anymore, and can’t do anything else to fix it. Please help if you can. ): ):
Try restarting your device, if that doesn’t work make sure none of your sims are completing any action, this usually makes the game work out that you have completed that goal.
I think I broke the game, I left the house for the have all sims leave the diy home and it didn’t give me the achievement

Hello. I am not able to complete the “Buy S5000 worth of outdoor decorations” I am buying them from the outdoor decoration slot but I never pass it. I bought multiple firepits… Plants and lawn chairs but I never pass this quest
Plants and chairs are not outdoor decorations, you need to buy just from the outdoor decorations tab to complete this.

I have a question- I was at the point where the DIY quest said to have all Sims leave the DIY house. Not all my Sims have been there, and now the call cab option is missing. WHat can I do?
It means have all sims leave the house that are in the house, not send all sims there to leave the house. Send your sims home and the goal should complete.
I already leave the DIY house through the simtracker but the quest somehow hasn’t ended yet. I don’t get it. Can you please help me?

For the party with Bree I use LPs to end one sims action but the other two still is partying with Bree will I have to do over the action?

After the quest I wanted my sim to hold her baby but then it glitched! It said she was holding her baby but the baby was floating in the air and it said she could still do tasks like sleeping or something… I don’t know what to do I refreshed it but it didn’t work what do I do!?!?

So after I complete this quest the house Will dissappear, But in I complete the basement quest it Will appear again?
You will be able to visit this house in the DIY homes: lovey dovey balcony quest and then the DIY homes: basement of kings quest. Can you do the outdoor task early?
Which task?
Buying the outdoor decorations one.
No you cannot do that early.
Along with that, what do you mean by this: ‘The tip with this method is to put the sim doing that action early in a different house that you cannot go to until you get that goal or it will not work’?
That is how you do a task early, so you send a sim to a different house and put them on a task, for example if you had a quest goal to grow strawberries you can start a sim in a different house growing strawberries before you reach this goal. Then you stay away from that house until you reach the goal, then you can go to that house and complete it straight away saving you 1 day of the time limit. If you went to the house before you got the goal and the task was complete it wouldn’t count and you would have to start growing the strawberries again.
Can I build the patio at my Sims house or does it need to be done at the DIY house?
You have to build the patio at one of your houses, not the DIY house.
