Once you have completed the Lovey-Dovey Balcony Quest you can then find Bree in the park again to begin this quest (it will take 24 hours for this quest to show once that quest has been completed) If you complete this quest in the time limit you will unlock the DIY home house template, you can still complete once the time limit is up to unlock basements but you won’t get the house template
You cannot complete this quest at the same time as any other discovery quest
HOW LONG DOES THIS QUEST TAKE TO COMPLETE?
Times may vary depending on the star rating the item has
- Cheer up Bree- 5 minutes
- Accompany Bree to the DIY home (tap on Bree at the park)
- Check simbook on a computer- 41 minutes
- Vote obsessively on a computer- 7 hours 30 minutes
- Join Bree for an interview- 1 day
- Study the basement at the DIY home- 3 hours 30 minutes
- Play with a pet at home- time varies depending on pet (a 1 star dog takes 45 minutes but a 1 star cat only takes 5 minutes, a puppy or kitten will only take 10 minutes and a dragon takes 4 minutes)
- Have a pet find 3 treasures (click on a pet and select the option, it MUST be an adult dog or cat to get the option)
- Share knowledge with Bree- 14 hours 30 minutes
- Ask Bree about poll- 35 minutes
- Get Bree a snack- 1 day [inspired: 20 hours 26 minutes] (fridge at DIY home)
- Make a double shot of coffee- 48 seconds
- Tell a joke to Bree- 25 minutes (if she is still eating send that sim home and send another sim to the DIY house, this should fix that issue)
- Build a basement
To build a basement, touch and drag anywhere within the area like building a room, you cannot build on swimming pools though
- Buy furniture and electronics (worth S2,000)
- Watch the ultimate movie marathon on TV- 19 hours
- Check in with Bree- 4 hours 30 minutes
- Hug Bree- 45 minutes
- Have all sims leave the DIY house
- Pump up the fans on a computer- 15 hours

How do I start this discovery quest?
Once you have completed the balcony quest you need to wait 24 hours then you can find Bree (the woman in the hard hat) in the park to start this quest
Why can’t I do this discovery quest yet?
You cannot do more than one discovery quest at the same time, if you are currently on another one (the list can be found here) you will not be able to do this one until that one is completed
Can I do discovery quests at the same time as a main quest?
Yes you can
Do I have to do this quest?
If you don’t start the quest you don’t have to do it at all but if you have already started it you need to complete it before you can move on to the next quest
I haven’t started this quest yet, will it still be available when I want to do it?
Yes it will be, you can choose to start it whenever you like
How do I call a cab to the DIY house?
Using a phone
Is it possible to complete the goal to play with a pet if I don’t own a pet?
No, you will need to build the pet store and buy a pet to complete this goal, it cannot be done at a neighbours
What pets can you use for the play with a pet goal?
Adult dogs, cats or dragons and kittens and puppies can all be used now
Help! Bree is stuck in the middle of the table
Try restarting your device, this should fix the issue
Bring food to Bree gets stuck at 100%, what should I do?
You may have to use 1LP to complete this task
How much does it cost to build a basement?
The cheapest is S8000 for 2×1
I had all sims leave the DIY home but it didn’t complete the goal, why?
Try and have all your sims not doing any action, this sometimes makes the game recognise you have completed that goal
What do I get if I complete this quest in the time limit?
The DIY Home
What happens if I don’t complete in the time limit, can I still finish this quest?
Yes you have to finish it to unlock the ability to build basements before you can move onto the next quest
I didn’t complete in the time limit, can I restart the quest?
No, you cannot redo quests
Can I still get the prize if I don’t complete in the time limit?
No, the only way to get the limited time prizes is by completing the quest in the time limit
I don’t like this quest! Can I just skip it?
No, you have to complete this quest before you can move onto the next one now that you have started it, if you don’t start it you don’t have to do it
Some times are slightly different on my game, why is this?
Times may vary depending on the star rating of the item you are using, as the higher star rating an item has the quicker you will complete a goal

I started this task and didn’t get credit for the one day interview so I lost a day….do we have more than enough time to complete this?

Got the same problem with the 24 interview. No credit for the task. Have to redo it again. Wondering if the 2nd time around finally works. Anyone has the same problem? Or should I be wasting 21 lps just to speed it up if the 2nd time fails again. Am using an Ipad2.
a few people have been having this problem, hopefully it will work the second time around
I tried the 2nd time on the 24 hr interview. This time I waited until the last hour which cost 1 LP to finish early. I paid the 1 lp just to make sure that I dont have to do this task on a 3rd try. It works.

I finished the patio and balcony quest awhile ago and I’m at Level 51, but I still haven’t seen this one start even though it’s advertised. Any ideas on why? Just curious if others are seeing the same.

What do you mean by premium lot? An ocean view lot? I have looked for it in both the standard and ocean view lots and it does not appear. (I also never got a “congrats, you unlocked the diy home” screen after the “you can now build basements” screen… Was I supposed to?)
yes they are called premium residences
If you didn’t complete the quest in the time limit you won’t have unlocked it.

What balcony and patio tile is at the DIY house?

How do you get the Scandinavian tiles ont he patio and balcony? They are not in the tile section for me. I am level 36. Will this effect it?
You can’t buy them but they will be on the diy house you unlock in this quest.

yes, you can complete the quest whenever you want, so when you do it you will get the prize if you complete the quest in the time limit
I’ve tried sending numerous different sims and Bree won’t stop eating! I’m going to run out of time and not get the prize! 😡

Did it ever fix itself because mine as been like that for a whole day and still won’t stop eating.
I was only able to fix the issue by sending another sim to the diy house, I tried everything else, you may need to contact EA if that doesn’t work
Mine fixed itself because I left it in the morning thinking it would fix itself and came back in the afternoon and it did.

yes you can, your sim count will go down so you can replace them

I don’t understand how Building Heights of different building are different on the same lot I dun see a big difference
Now when you build separate buildings on a property where a 2 story + building is, instead of it already being ready for you to add rooms upstairs it will only be one story and you have to buy the second story again.

No I completed it very easily within the time limit without LPs, you can start growing the strawberries early if you want to save more time though

Hi, after sending home many different sims and sending others to the DIY home, Bree is still eating at the table, I’ve tried closing the app, turning the Ipad off, etc.. Any suggestions?

I was hoping you (or perhaps one of your followers) could answer a question for me before I build a home I can’t use. If I connect 3 or 4 elevators vertically in a 4 or 5 story house, can my sim use it to go from the bottom to the top floor like IRL?
no, you wouldn’t be able to do that as you can’t place elevators above one another

How to add neighbours on kindle!!!
Okay, so I have a very important question that I would really like you to answer please 🙂
So basically I have no neighbours other than the one you get first. I play with a kindle fire and when I add friends on game circle who play the same game sim free play I add them, but the thing is they don’t show up on my sims party boat , as well as . Adding friends on facebook most of my friends don’t play this game so can you add any one who plays sims freepla y with their username or what I’m soon confused I really want to have neighbours so please please what is it that I’m doing wrong.??

No you can’t add everyone who plays the sims freeplay but if a friend on facebook plays they will automatically appear in your party boat
If you desperately want neighbours there are people on this page you can add: https://thegirlwhogames.wordpress.com/neighbour-requests/ you will need people in the facebook section, and then you just add them as a friend and when they accept they will be in your party boat

you have to stay away from the house where the strawberries are being planted until you get the goal to grow them.
Thank you for all of the info you are providing. I’m trying to place a sim into my basement to complete the movie marathon, but I can’t get the sim into the basement. I’m pretty sure it is because I can’t place a staircase to the basement. I can’t increase the size of my basement and can’t figure out how to get the basement staircase to reach the basement. There are a few places that will accept the staircase, but they don’t touch the basement I’ve tried other staircases, but they don’t reach the basement either. How I can get my sim into the basement? Thank you.
you don’t have to watch tv in the basement to complete the movie marathon goal, you can watch it on any tv in a house
King of basement quest, I have sent my sim home and I am stuck at 90 percent without an option for the last part. I went to go back to the day house,but that option is already gone. I don,t know what to do.
did it complete the goal when you left? if so, go to a computer and see if you can find the option for the last goal.

I enjoyed all the DIY Quests but gee whiz the basements are soooooo expensive. I might just buy DIY Homes and move my Sims into those because it’s still cheaper than adding basements to the houses they’ve got. Love your blog by the way !

Hi! I love your blog and all the quest updates you post for Sims Freeplay and religiously follow them every time I’m on a new quest! I just wanted to add that I wish you had specified for this quest to “Grow strawberries” at the Diy home instead cuz I just spent a day ahead to grow strawberries at one of my sims home and then to find out that it has to be done at the diy home when the task finally came through. Just letting you know so that other simmers won’t make the same mistake I did. But thank you for all your efforts and help you put through for the community! Truly appreciate it!! Love! 🙂

Is there a way to restart the “kings of basements” quest. I was on the step to build the first basement but did it wrong and couldn’t fix it so demished house, to be able to start another basement in that same lot, after I had build two story home. Tells me now that “kings of basement quest has to be completed to build in another house.” I want basement access for most homes. Is there a way to restart “kings of basment” quest?? 2days left to complete. Any help will do. Thanks!

I completed this quest. In the DIY home the basement has 2 rooms, but when I try to add a basement to my existing home I can’t seem to create multiple rooms in the basement. All I have is one big basement. I know you can add new walls and rooms to existing houses. But can you add them to existing basements?
Building basements is like building rooms, you can’t add walls or rooms to an existing room, you just have to add more basement rooms next to each other

I have a question. If your strawberry plant grew a sim-eating plant would it affect how Bree eats? I got a sim eating plant initially and now she finished eating but when I clicked on her, the option was still to give her more food. Thanks for your thoughts on this. Really helpful blog. 🙂
no it won’t, there is a glitch were Bree just continues to eat, I fixed it by getting that sim to leave and sending another sim to the diy house and she should stop eating
