Once you have completed the Lovey-Dovey Balcony Quest you can then find Bree in the park again to begin this quest (it will take 24 hours for this quest to show once that quest has been completed) If you complete this quest in the time limit you will unlock the DIY home house template, you can still complete once the time limit is up to unlock basements but you won’t get the house template
You cannot complete this quest at the same time as any other discovery quest
HOW LONG DOES THIS QUEST TAKE TO COMPLETE?
Times may vary depending on the star rating the item has
- Cheer up Bree- 5 minutes
- Accompany Bree to the DIY home (tap on Bree at the park)
- Check simbook on a computer- 41 minutes
- Vote obsessively on a computer- 7 hours 30 minutes
- Join Bree for an interview- 1 day
- Study the basement at the DIY home- 3 hours 30 minutes
- Play with a pet at home- time varies depending on pet (a 1 star dog takes 45 minutes but a 1 star cat only takes 5 minutes, a puppy or kitten will only take 10 minutes and a dragon takes 4 minutes)
- Have a pet find 3 treasures (click on a pet and select the option, it MUST be an adult dog or cat to get the option)
- Share knowledge with Bree- 14 hours 30 minutes
- Ask Bree about poll- 35 minutes
- Get Bree a snack- 1 day [inspired: 20 hours 26 minutes] (fridge at DIY home)
- Make a double shot of coffee- 48 seconds
- Tell a joke to Bree- 25 minutes (if she is still eating send that sim home and send another sim to the DIY house, this should fix that issue)
- Build a basement
To build a basement, touch and drag anywhere within the area like building a room, you cannot build on swimming pools though
- Buy furniture and electronics (worth S2,000)
- Watch the ultimate movie marathon on TV- 19 hours
- Check in with Bree- 4 hours 30 minutes
- Hug Bree- 45 minutes
- Have all sims leave the DIY house
- Pump up the fans on a computer- 15 hours

How do I start this discovery quest?
Once you have completed the balcony quest you need to wait 24 hours then you can find Bree (the woman in the hard hat) in the park to start this quest
Why can’t I do this discovery quest yet?
You cannot do more than one discovery quest at the same time, if you are currently on another one (the list can be found here) you will not be able to do this one until that one is completed
Can I do discovery quests at the same time as a main quest?
Yes you can
Do I have to do this quest?
If you don’t start the quest you don’t have to do it at all but if you have already started it you need to complete it before you can move on to the next quest
I haven’t started this quest yet, will it still be available when I want to do it?
Yes it will be, you can choose to start it whenever you like
How do I call a cab to the DIY house?
Using a phone
Is it possible to complete the goal to play with a pet if I don’t own a pet?
No, you will need to build the pet store and buy a pet to complete this goal, it cannot be done at a neighbours
What pets can you use for the play with a pet goal?
Adult dogs, cats or dragons and kittens and puppies can all be used now
Help! Bree is stuck in the middle of the table
Try restarting your device, this should fix the issue
Bring food to Bree gets stuck at 100%, what should I do?
You may have to use 1LP to complete this task
How much does it cost to build a basement?
The cheapest is S8000 for 2×1
I had all sims leave the DIY home but it didn’t complete the goal, why?
Try and have all your sims not doing any action, this sometimes makes the game recognise you have completed that goal
What do I get if I complete this quest in the time limit?
The DIY Home
What happens if I don’t complete in the time limit, can I still finish this quest?
Yes you have to finish it to unlock the ability to build basements before you can move onto the next quest
I didn’t complete in the time limit, can I restart the quest?
No, you cannot redo quests
Can I still get the prize if I don’t complete in the time limit?
No, the only way to get the limited time prizes is by completing the quest in the time limit
I don’t like this quest! Can I just skip it?
No, you have to complete this quest before you can move onto the next one now that you have started it, if you don’t start it you don’t have to do it
Some times are slightly different on my game, why is this?
Times may vary depending on the star rating of the item you are using, as the higher star rating an item has the quicker you will complete a goal
Some times are really off/ different goals show for me, why is this?

I’m on level 19 and I think I lost the opportunity to complete the basement quest. I saw Bree in the park but was still on level 16 so I couldn’t complete the quest yet. Is there any way I can get her back??
you can’t loss the opportunity to do this quest, you do it when you are ready. you need to complete the patio, multi story renovations and balcony quests first though

Second, I am doing this quest now and I had to do the ‘Vote Obsessively’. You state here it takes 5 hours but on mine it says 6 hours on the computer in the DIY home. The one in the basement says 6 hours 30 minutes. Just a heads up.

There are only 2 computers in the DIY house. The one in the basement says it takes 6 hours 30 minutes and the one on the first floor says 6 hours. It has to be done in the DIY house.

Hi, im already in part of leaving all sims from diy .. I send all my sims outnof diy but the quest is still there.. When i click the phone theres no choice for take a cab to diy.. I need your help i have 19hrs left starting now.. Please help me 🙂
Have all of your sims doing nothing and it should recognise that you have completed the task
I’m noticing building a basement is more expensive than adding rooms and stuff above ground
I’m sorry if this has nothing to do with the post but can you add lamp outside of the house? Like on pools or in balcony? Because it gets really dark and till now I can only add lamps inside.

The new camping lantern, the bamboo lamp and all the wall lights can be added outside the house, wall lamps are on the wall but the lantern can go anywhere on the grid
Hi, do you know if there is a way to delete basements? I don’t mean delete rooms, but delete the whole basement floor. It has no stairs and no rooms but I still don’t see a way to remove it completely.
go to the basements tab, click on the basement and click the red symbol the same way you delete a room.

do you mean living in the diy house you buy? then 4
if you mean visiting the diy house in the quest then it is 10

I Finished the basement quest and Bree’s DIY three story house, where is is at and how do I get there?

Agh, this is the second time that I’ve started an action, checked on the person 12 or so hours later, and it restarts the time. In this case, I was giving food to Bree. I started it last night, and when I checked on her in the morning it said ’12 hours and 29 minutes left’. Not a question, just a frustration! Definitely won’t be getting the home now.

Bree is still eating , so I can’t tell her a joke, I’ve tried sending people home and bringing back other people but it’s not working 😦 any advice ?

Worried that it’s too late to do the Basement Challenge!! I just finished the Balcony quest and now I’m looking for Bree. I search both the Park and then the Community Center. But she is no where to be found. Has the deadline to start it already passed?

Its not too late, don’t worry! once you complete the balcony quest she will take a day to turn up again at the community center, just keep checking back

Ihave finished the basement quest, built one and now can’t get down there. I have an elevator which goes up to the 2nd floor but can’t get it to go to basement. I can’t put in any kind of stairs either. When i try they are red. Got any ideas? Thank you kindly.
it will be red if there is something in the way on the floor above, you need to rearrange items on the ground floor to be able to place stairs in the basement
I sent my sim home, and brought another sim to the DIY home, and Bree was still eating!

I used a dragon. My red one. The sim who owned the pet was busy so I relocated the pet to the sim who wasnt busy. Then when he clicked on his dragon, it said Play with pet and it took five minutes. After that it had Find treasure and three actions later, I was done with the task. How do I own a fairy? How much do thy cost? lp? Simoleons? Love your

I’m just now getting to the Basement of Kings Quest and one of the first few tasks, “vote obsessively”, takes 7 hours 30 minutes on a 3-star computer, and 9 hours 30 minutes on the computer at the DIY house instead of 5 like the post says. Love the website!! Thanks for all the great information about Sims Freeplay 🙂

I am at “join Bree for an interview”, so I clicked and joined….I waited 24hrs… And when I opened my game…nothing happened 😕 it didn’t say “completed” arghhh now I am doing it again!
I just wasted a whole day, it’s not fair😭, I won’t complete this quest in time😭

I’m not sure what is going on with the times to be honest, some people seem to have the old times while others have a new time so I think we are just going to have to wait for the next update to find out what the correct times actually are 🙂

Hi. I absolutely love all your posts and I always try to read them (and all the comments) before I start a single thing is my sims town. I was just thinking that it seems a little strange they won’t let you start this quest until you’ve finished the one at the park. I tried to start it today and it told me I had to do something with the park ranger first, but I haven’t even built the campground!! It is going to take quite a while to build and I’m scared I’ll run out of time! I LOVE THE DIY HOUSE!!!! I want it so badly. Owls the time start now or when I get the first quest? Sorry, I know this is extremely long and confusing but I really want to know. 😀😀
Thanks! You don’t have to do the campgrounds quest first but you do need to do the patio and balcony quests first. To start the patio quest you need to find the woman in the hard hat in the park 🙂 And the times don’t start until you start the quest so don’t panic

I noticed a lot of people had trouble with things not finishing. I had this happen one time on a different quest. It said the time remaining was 0 seconds, but never finished. I tried shutting down the game & starting again, and it was still stuck. I finally had to go ahead and pay the 1 LP to get it finished. Does anyone else know another solution?

Good news! The last few tasks have actually been shortened! After the movie marathon, it only took me 15 minutes to check with Bree, 5 minutes to hug Bree, and 9 1/2 hours to pump up the fans!
I recently changed those times because I was told they were no longer correct with the latest update
Oh. I didn’t update since before the camping quest. I didn’t have the $ for building it.
There is yet another change to timing.
The good news is tell a joke to Bree is now only 2 min (not 45), but the Ultimate Movie Marathon is a whopping 19 hours on a 3 star tv, and 21 hours 30 min on a 2 star. Don’t watch tv at Bree’s – it’s a 2-star!
They sure don’t want to give this house away!

you need to click on a large house plot and you will find it on the list of houses you can build.

This isn’t really a question, but a statement.You also can’t do this quest at the same time as the camp quest. Am only 25% through the quest and now have to wait to build my camp which will take almost 3 days!!!!!!! Love your blog by the way

Hi i completed the balcony quest, basement quest and patio quest (on my iphone) but there is no tab to change the patio flooring or add railings, i did have this tab when i was doing the quests but now i have completed them (and doing the ghost quest) i suddenly don’t have the tab anymore. Please help!
try restarting your device, that usually works to bring the tabs back
