Once you have completed the Lovey-Dovey Balcony Quest you can then find Bree in the park again to begin this quest (it will take 24 hours for this quest to show once that quest has been completed) If you complete this quest in the time limit you will unlock the DIY home house template, you can still complete once the time limit is up to unlock basements but you won’t get the house template
You cannot complete this quest at the same time as any other discovery quest
HOW LONG DOES THIS QUEST TAKE TO COMPLETE?
Times may vary depending on the star rating the item has
- Cheer up Bree- 5 minutes
- Accompany Bree to the DIY home (tap on Bree at the park)
- Check simbook on a computer- 41 minutes
- Vote obsessively on a computer- 7 hours 30 minutes
- Join Bree for an interview- 1 day
- Study the basement at the DIY home- 3 hours 30 minutes
- Play with a pet at home- time varies depending on pet (a 1 star dog takes 45 minutes but a 1 star cat only takes 5 minutes, a puppy or kitten will only take 10 minutes and a dragon takes 4 minutes)
- Have a pet find 3 treasures (click on a pet and select the option, it MUST be an adult dog or cat to get the option)
- Share knowledge with Bree- 14 hours 30 minutes
- Ask Bree about poll- 35 minutes
- Grow strawberries- 1 day (can be started early, you don’t have to do this at the DIY house)
- Make a double shot of coffee- 48 seconds
- Tell a joke to Bree- 25 minutes (if she is still eating send that sim home and send another sim to the DIY house, this should fix that issue)
- Build a basement
To build a basement, touch and drag anywhere within the area like building a room, you cannot build on swimming pools though
- Buy furniture and electronics (worth S2,000)
- Watch the ultimate movie marathon on TV- 19 hours
- Check in with Bree- 4 hours 30 minutes
- Hug Bree- 45 minutes
- Have all sims leave the DIY house
- Pump up the fans on a computer- 15 hours

How do I start this discovery quest?

Just an FYI – as of the Nanny Knows Best update, Bree no longer appears at the Community Center to start the renovation quests but at the Park, usually on the fishing pier. I just completed the balcony quest yesterday, and today Bree is again on the pier in the park to start the basement quest.
Will the make out couch be available for buying after the Basement of Kings quest is complete?
no it won’t, you can only get it if you complete the quest in time
I started this quest without knowing pets were required. I have no pets, no pet shop, and I haven’t completed the ghost hunter or legacies quests. Is there ANYTHING I can do???
all you can do is build the pet store and buy a pet to complete it unfortunately.
What is a “premium residence”? I am only able to get normal size plots and beach plots at the moment, and I completed the upstairs quest but I can see it anywhere? I really want the DIY home! Any help? Thanks.
premium residence is the proper name for a beach plot
You need to find Bree in the park and complete the patio quest, then balconies quest, then you can do the basement quest

There’s a glitch with the ‘Bring food to Bree’ part of the quest. Every time I send someone to do this, it automatically pops up as 100% in the sim’s task bar. I’ve tried everything: restarting the device, cancelling the action, leaving the DIY house and coming back again, and even sending new sim to try the task. Any advice? I have 3 days left to to complete the whole quest so I can win the house in time. Thanks
strange, surely it should complete it straight away if it says the task is complete? You may need to set them doing the task then leave the DIY house straight away (before they reach Bree) and don’t return until it shows they have completed the task in the simtracker
On the “bring food to bree” task I started it and left to do something with a different sim. The sim tracker said it was finished and when I clicked it it said 0% complete but only showed I had to use 1 LP to be finished. I used the LP and the task was finished and move to the next task. Just a heads up for anyone having that problem it might help.
So I totally forgot that we have to put in stairs and made my basement small on this quest and now I can’t add stairs, add to it, or demolish it to start over. Any advice?
you should be able to drag the basement to make it bigger, are you unable to do that?

I am also having the same problem. I made my basement too small and cannot add stairs. It will not let me change the basement room, it’s telling me “I must finish the basement tasks before I can add/ change the basement”. So I am not able to do the movie marathon quest. Any advice?
You don’t need a basement to finish the quest, finish the quest then you will be able to resize your basement

I do not have a community center in my simtown, so does that mean that I won’t be able to access and complete this quest or will I find Bree in the park after I have completed all of my active discovery quests? (Because I can’t find Bree in the park after completing the patio and balcony quests)
You must have the community center if you have completed the balcony quest, as you unlock that when you complete the multi story renovations quest which you need to complete the balcony quest. Bree will be in the park 24 hours after you finish the balcony quest.
I just want to share my experience, when i had to bring food to bree, it must be 12hrs 30min but it said 100% and didnt want to load. And i just tap used 1lp to finish it 😂😂
Btw it’s a nice blog, i open at least 10x evryday 👍👍
There seems to be a glitch on this task at the moment where it won’t complete when it reaches 100%, there was a similar one on the balcony quest which I believe has been fixed now so hopefully they can sort this one out at some point too

Try rotating the device and zooming in, its clicking on the couch when you do this, not the x

Study Basement now takes 5 hours 30 minutes, and Play with Pet now takes 41 minutes!

On the part where it say the ultimate movie marathon I can’t find one and I even have the same TV the only one that shows up is movie marathon is it the same thing or different?
That is different, are you using an adult sim? Have you tried the tv at the DIY home? Are you on that task yet? As you won’t be able to do this before you get the goal.
For some reason , it will not let me click on “basement” when I go to the home store . Like at all. I’ve been trying to find solutions and updating my apps and phone but still nothing. Please help! I’ve been looking all over the net for this problem and it seems like no one else has it! I went to all the houses and it still won’t let me click on it! It’s gray not bold like it should be

I forgot I had to install the stairs to access my basement and made my basement small. Now it won’t let me install the stairs, add a room to the basement or even resize the basement so I’m stuck. Help please
If you are still on the quest finish that first then you will be able to edit your basement.

You need to click on an empty house lot to build the diy home.
It will not show under the empty house lot.
Then you probably didn’t complete this quest in the time limit.
If I want to build new home, but I have 2 story house, then I would delte all rooms, would I need do buy second floor again?
Yes I think you would need to, although they do change this sometimes so you don’t need to buy it again.
But the way to get around this is to not delete all the rooms on the ground floor, keep one and then you will be able to build all the other rooms on the ground floor (as long as they are connected to the room you didn’t delete) and then won’t have to buy the second floor again.

Please help me! I don’t have a pet because the pet store cost 300,000 simolions and I can’t afford it! Can I do the play with pet task at a neighbors house because I really want the diy home and won’t have time to get the money and then wait for the pet store to be built, is there anything else I can do?

Can you renovate the basement to actually look like part of the house or will it always have that “unfinished” kinda trashy look to it?
If you complete the quest and unlock the house you can redecorate it however you like.
How did you suddenly go from 15M town worth to 28M? Haha
There is a neighbours glitch, if you visit a neighbour sometimes it increases your town value to theirs so that is all.
I wanted to mention something- the quest changed with the update, you can use a puppy for the play task ( it just takes ten minutes instead of four though.) I thought I should let you know.
