The Sims Freeplay- 15 Ways To Make Money and LPs!

I always get asked “how do I make money and LPs quickly?” so I have come up with a list of the main ways you can make money and LPs!

Buy them– you could always buy them if you are struggling, if you were to buy one of them I would go for LPs over simoleons as LPs are harder to make!
Level up– when you level up you get LPs. You can level up quicker by reaching relationship milestones that give you 100+XPs and by completing rows in hobby collections
Complete goals– each goal you complete gives you a reward, whether it’s money, LPs or XPs and when you complete a selection of the weekly goals you receive more money and LPs.
Increase town value– you receive LPs when you reach certain values!
Garden and bake– if all of your sims are gardening you can earn loads of simoleons. If you are busy put your sims on gardening and baking tasks for that length of time, e.g. While you are sleeping make all your sims plant beans for 9 hours. Or if you have a spare hour or so you could set up a plant growing plot for lots of your sims as shown below and grow some carrots or corn over and over to make even more money! Remember if sims are inspired they earn more money!

Pets finding treasure– the more expensive the pet the more likely they will find LPs but they mostly find simoleons
Go to work– the more they go to work the more money they will make as they get promoted
Party boat– the more neighbours you have the more prizes you get, you mostly get simoleons from this but it is possible to get LPs
Competition center– this will give you a certain hobby and you enter a sim who has the highest level in that hobby for 24 hours and it will give you a position and a reward, if you are first you will get 3 LPs! You still get a reward wherever you are placed in the competition.
Bingo hall– you can enter your seniors in this for a day, I have never won at bingo yet though!
Hobbies– you get simoleons for finding a new piece and once you’ve completed the collections to collect the main prizes, complete it again for an LP reward! The cooking hobby is my favourite because you can make lots of money and LPs relatively quickly with several of your sims working on it at once! How Do I Have So Many LPs explains this in more detail.
Collect revenue from car drives– if you buy the 1 story mansion you get a free car with it, you can use that to drive about town, click on the music notes and collect the money- the more expensive the car the more likely you will find LPs
Daily reward– the mailbox gives you simoleons every 24 hours, the amount is based on your town value, the higher your value the more money you get but there is a limit on this
Money from houses (house revenue)- click on the money and XPs signs on the town map for simoleons
Free Simoleons/ LPs/ SPs from the paperboy- a paperboy appears in your town with a film reel in a bubble above his head, click on this to watch an advert, once you have watched it you will earn either furniture, simoleons, LPs or SPs!

Don’t cheat! Using the time cheat is more trouble than it is worth, if you use it other things will go wrong with your game, for example:

Buildings take longer to build
Daily rewards don’t arrive
Babies take longer to arrive

It is possible to get lots of money and LPs without cheating, you just have to work hard.

This method still works but they have unhelpfully made the social point flower cost 20LPs now instead of 5 so a bit more cooking is needed!

YOU NEED TO COMPLETE THE NEED FOR STEED QUEST BEFORE YOU CAN BEGIN THIS QUEST

Completing this quest unlocks the ability to age your baby sims to toddlers! If you complete this quest in the time limit you will unlock the dress up chest for your toddler sims. You can still complete this quest once the time is up but you won’t get the dress up chest prize

How long does this quest take to complete?

Watch a documentary- 54 minutes

Watch sunflower street on TV- 8 minutes 6 seconds

Change a diaper- 21 seconds

Expand or change a room

Buy a dollhouse from the children’s store- costs S7,000

Have a fancy coffee- 5 minutes (if blue footprints appear read this post)
Study geography on a globe- 9 hours 30 minutes

Contemplate life at the lake- 6 minutes 48 seconds (click on ducks)

Ask statue in park for advice- 2 minutes 24 seconds

Stare at the park statue- 3 seconds

Get serious advice from the park statue- 7 hours 30 minutes

Dance to a stereo (completes straight away)

QUEST IS COMPLETE!

You can now age your babies into toddlers using a birthday cake (explained in this guide) BUT YOU DO NOT NEED A BIRTHDAY CAKE TO FINISH THIS QUEST, my Guide to Toddlers explains all about them!

NOTE: You need a toddler for the In Da Clubhouse quest that is in 3 quests time

You can also adopt a toddler using the option on a phone for real money once this quest is complete:

Time Limited Prize: Dress up Chest

Is the prize worth it? Yes! This is such a great thing to have, you can find it in the toddler section and when placed in the home your toddler can dress as a robot, panda, dinosaur or bee! If you use the chest they walk around acting like the character which is cute but you can put them in an outfit permanently using the wardrobe or costume and swim store

Where can I find it? In the toddler section of buy mode

I have missed this quest! Why can’t I start it yet?
You cannot miss main quests they have to be completed in order. You need to complete all previous quests (list can be found here) and reach level 12 before you can start this quest

Can I complete this quest even though I have passed level 12?
Yes, you just need to complete all previous quests then this quest will start automatically

I have watched a documentary but it hasn’t completed the goal, why?
You will not be able to complete this goal until you get the goal when the quest starts

Why do blue footprints appear when I try to use an item?
Blue footprints appear when your sim cannot access an item you want them to use, you need to either rotate the item or move an item that has been placed in front of it so they can use it

What do I get if I complete this quest in the time limit?
The dress up chest

What happens if I don’t complete in the time limit, can I still finish this quest?
Yes you have to finish it to unlock the ability to age your babies to toddlers before you can move onto the next quest

I didn’t complete in the time limit, can I restart the quest?
No, you cannot redo quests

Can I still get the prize if I don’t complete in the time limit?
No, the only way to get the limited time prizes is by completing the quest in the time limit

I don’t like this quest! Can I just skip it?
No, you have to complete this quest before you can move onto the next one

Some times are slightly different on my game, why is this?
Times may vary depending on the star rating of the item you are using, as the higher star rating an item has the quicker you will complete a goal

Some times are really off/ different goals show for me, why is this?

The Sims Freeplay- Hobbies: Bird Feeding

BIRD FEEDING QUEST – BIRD FEEDING BENCH – SENIOR SIMS ONLY – PRIZES: CAGED BIRD, BENCH AND 3LP

Seniors can bird feed once you complete the Bird Feeding Quest. Once you have you will be able to find the first bench in the park, you need to find all 3 birds on the first bench to unlock the next bench

Once at the park find the bench with the birds on it and select ‘feed birds’ for 10 minutes

You will need to find 3 different birds at the park to unlock the swim center bench to find the next 3 birds. Once you have found all 3 birds at the swim center you will unlock the bench at the community center to find the next 3 birds. Once you have found those 3 new birds you will unlock the final bench at the snow park to find the last 3 birds:

At the Park: Feed Birds- 10 minutes
At the Swim Center: Feed Birds- 1 hour
At the Community Center: Feed Birds- 6 hours
At the Snow Park: Feed Birds- 12 hours

Once you complete the collection for the first time you can use the benches in any order but you will still need to do each option to find the different birds to complete each row

After the time has passed come back and click the exclamation mark above your sims head to find one of the bird collectibles in that row. You still level up in this hobby but the hobby level up percentage isn’t important as the bird collectibles don’t unlock depending on your level, when you finish a row of bird collectibles you will unlock the ability to find the birds in the next row.

The table below shows you the level up reward that your sims will receive when they level up in this hobby:

You won’t find a new collectible each time, you will get repeats, if this happens just keep going, you will find them eventually! If it is still taking too long you can use the lucky spin on the row where you cannot find the item, this will cost LPs, when you click on the LP button it will clear the row and give you a random collectible on that row so you aren’t guaranteed a new item (you will get back any other collectibles you already had in that row) Need to earn some LPs to use the lucky spin?

The completed bird feeding collection is shown below, once you complete the collection you need to click ‘start a new collection’ at the top of the hobby collection screen, this clears the board so you can complete the collection again to earn more rewards (you will only get the option to restart the hobby collection when you have completed the collection):

The first time you complete a row you will unlock a new place to bird feed, further times you will earn XPs when you complete a row in the hobby but to complete the collection you need to find all 12 of the collectibles

The rewards for completing this collection are a caged bird, bird feeding bench and 3LP:

The first time you complete this collection you unlock a caged bird (they can be found in the pet section of the home store and cost 10LP)

The second time you unlock the bird feeding bench for your homes, this bench has all 4 bird feeding options on it so you don’t need to go to all of the places anymore (it costs 2LP and can be found in promotions r us store)

From the third time onwards each time you complete the collection you will earn 3LP

YOU NEED TO COMPLETE THE BIRD FEEDING QUEST BEFORE YOU CAN BEGIN THIS QUEST

Completing this quest unlocks another senior hobby, the quilting hobby. If you complete this quest within the time limit you will unlock the patchwork teddy bear for toddlers to play with. You can still complete this quest once the time limit is up to unlock the quilting hobby but you won’t get the teddy

NOTE: the next quest allows your sims to age and die BUT you can reverse them to the beginning of the life stage for free so they can still live forever!

Call a friend using a phone- 4 minutes
Bring a sim to the park
Gaze serenely on a park bench- 9 hours

Ask a sim about the serene gaze- 3 minutes 42 seconds

Cook pizza- 40 minutes (need to be level 2 in cooking with a one star microwave to make pizza) (can be started early)
Give some pizza to another sim- 1 hour

Feed ducks in park- 12 minutes (if you use a toddler this goal will only take 4 minutes) (can be started early)

Paint a picture (using an easel- can buy from promotions r us)- 3 hours (can be started early)

Freak out over amazing picture- 1 minute

Draw out chess game- 1 day 20 minutes

High five a sim- 1 second (two sims need to be friends to get this option)

Call the old sim back (using a phone) – 4 minutes

Get overexcited at another sim- 1 minute

Search for quilting online (using a computer)- 4 minutes 57 seconds

Drive to the quilt fair (click on a car on your drive, if you don’t have a car buy one from the car dealership)- 19 hours 30 minutes

Make a fancy coffee- 4 minutes
Use power tool (plant)- 2 hours 25 minutes
Heat hands in warm water (using a sink)- 4 minutes 24 seconds

Play ‘quilting mama’ game (using a tv)- 11 hours 30 minutes

Get the quilting kit (from promotions r us store for S2,500)

The quilting kit can only be used by seniors, once brought it can be found in the inventory section under the hobby and career tab to place in your home.

You can now complete the Quilting Hobby

Time Limited Prize: Patchwork Teddy

Is the prize worth it? Yes, it’s cute and it’s cheaper than the other bear available that costs 20LP!

Pizza is locked, how do I cook it?
Your sim needs to be level 2 at cooking and have a microwave at that house

How do I give pizza to another sim?
Just click on a sim and select give pizza

What do you mean when you say a goal can be started early?
Any goal that you can normally do can be started early because you will have access to it and any goal that you can’t normally do you will have to wait until you get the goal to be able to complete it.
The tip with this method is to put the sim doing that action early in a different house that you cannot go to until you get that goal or it will not work

How do I place an easel in my house once I have brought it from the promotions r us store?
You can find it in your inventory under career and hobby items

I don’t get the option to draw out a chess game, why?
Are you using an adult sim and the chess board in the park?

Do I need two sims to draw out a chess game?
No, you only need one

Why don’t I have the option to high five another sim?
Your sims need to be friends to get this option

I don’t have a car or the car dealership built yet, can I get a car without it?

The Sims Freeplay- Hobbies: Woodworking

WOODWORKING BENCH – ADULT SIMS ONLY – PRIZES: DOG KENNEL, FOOSBALL TABLE and 3LP

Only Adults can complete the woodworking hobby, to begin this hobby you need to buy the woodworking bench from the promotions r us store and place it in one of your sims houses or you can use the benches at the community center once you have completed the Multi Story Renovations Quest.

I cannot find it in my home store to place it? You need to look in your inventory under the hobby and career items section

I cannot place the woodworking bench, it says its locked/ limited item, what do I do? You will have this problem if you try and place it from the new items tab, look in your inventory instead to be able to place the woodworking bench in one of your sims houses.

You can buy as many as you want so you can have as many adult sims as you want completing this hobby at once

Once placed tap on it and select one of the options:

Quick Practice- 5 hours
Carve Magnum Opus- 12 hours 30 minutes

After the time has passed come back and click the exclamation mark above your sims head, you may get a woodworking collectible straight away or have to play the mini game if your sim made a doll:

The doll will run to the pipes on the machinery to the left of the screen- your sim will rush to a window. You need to get the doll to the window your sim is at, if it is going the wrong way you can tap on it to change the dolls direction (you will only get this minigame if you complete the hobby at the community center, if you do it at home you don’t need to chase the dolls!)

Every time you complete one of the options above your woodworking hobby skill level up percentage will increase, once you reach 100% you will level up, there are 6 levels. You need to reach level 6 to be able to unlock all of the woodworking collectibles, once unlocked you will be able to find them.

The table below shows the level up percentage for each option:

NOTE: if you are completing a woodworking time limited hobby event the percentage increases quicker during these events than the normal amounts shown in the table below

For example if you did the 12 hour 30 minute option, you would need to do this 5 times or the 5 hour option 17 times to reach level 3 from level 2.

The table below shows you for each level what woodworking collectibles you unlock (so you can then find those ones too) and also the level up reward that a second and future sims will receive when they level up in this hobby:

6	Master Craftsmen	Wooden Dragon and Ragtime Runaway are now unlocked in the hobby collection. You can now complete the collection!	1LP

NOTE: only the first sim completing this hobby needs to get to level 6 to unlock all the collectibles, future sims will be able to find any collectible even if they are only on level 1 in this hobby (and they can do the shortest option to try and find the collectibles quicker!)

The completed woodworking collection is shown below, once you complete the collection you need to click ‘start a new collection’ at the top of the hobby collection screen, this clears the board so you can complete the collection again to earn more rewards (you will only get the option to restart the hobby collection when you have completed the collection):

You will earn XPs when you complete a row in the hobby but to complete the collection you need to find all 12 of the collectibles

The rewards for completing this collection are a dog kennel, foosball table and 3LP:

The first time you complete the collection you receive a free premium dog kennel (which can be found in the pet section of buy mode)
The second time you receive a free foosball table (which can be found in living room section of buy mode)
From the third time onwards each time you complete the collection you will earn 3LP

Time Limited Hobby Events– the woodworking hobby appears often in these events, to complete these you have to complete the woodworking hobby a certain amount of times during the time limit to unlock all of the prizes, you can find a list of time limited hobby events here. If you want to complete these time limited hobby events then have one sim get to level six in this hobby before the next event starts so you only have to do the shortest option when the event begins!
