Starts 1st August 2023

Complete this brand new live event (starts 1st August) to unlock Victorian themed items and if you complete the whole event in the time limit you unlock the Scholarly Chateau house template. This event is only here for 13 days and the aim of it is to collect enough arts and crafts items from the arts and crafts stations (found in the event tab of buy mode) to unlock all the items in this event.

NOTE: if you did another Live Event then you will find your arts and crafts stations in your inventory (or in the house you left them at) you will only be able to use the candle ones until you unlock the other stations in this event

Can’t find your arts and crafts stations? Click on the craft station in your event tab to get the option to find your station, it will take you to the house where your stations can be found!

Place a crafting station (find the candle station in the events tab of buy mode (or your inventory)- you can only buy 4)

Make some arts and crafts items (click on the candle station to make)- 23 seconds

This takes you to the prize progress tab (you can get to it by clicking on the button in the corner of the screen)

Here you will see you have collected enough items to unlock the Wealthy Wainscoting pack. When you unlock each pack, before the items are available in your home store you need to purchase them with the arts and crafts items you make- this goal is coming up!

Restock a crafting station (when the stock runs out you will have to restock before you can make anymore arts and crafts items)- You can restock instantly for 18 uses for 10SP or restock for 2 uses which will take 10 seconds this time

Buy the Wealthy Wainscoting pack (click on the event button, scroll down and click purchase- this will cost you 50 candles)

Use a coin flower patch (buy the coin flower patch from the event tab and select the spin plant option)

Check the daily goals (click on the event button and find the daily goals tab- claim the ones you can!)

Remember to claim your rewards each day!

Collect bonuses (while collecting after a certain amount of time you will see the arts and crafts item appear above that sims head, click to collect the bonus item!)

Continue collecting arts and crafts items- this is the last step but the event is not over, keep collecting the arts and crafts to unlock everything!

If you want to speed up a collecting arts and crafts action it will cost you SP, you will get the bonus arts and craft items as well if you speed it up!

Restocking

Each station (apart from the first candle one) comes with a stock of 7 which means you can use the station 7 times before it needs to be restocked (if you got your stations out of your inventory they will all need restocking first (apart from the first candle one) When you need to restock you will have two options:

Restock 18 uses which happens instantly but will cost you 10SP
or
Restock 9 uses which will take you 2 hours 30 minutes but will be free

NOTE:

if you store the station you will lose all the stock so when you place it again you will need to restock
if you cancel making something using a station you will lose that stock so if you had one stock left and then you cancelled that action you would need to restock before you can create anymore arts and crafts items

Click the event button in the top corner of your game to see your progress

Daily Goals

Check on the first tab every day because if you complete all the daily goals you will get additional constructor coins

NOTE: remember to click CLAIM once you have completed a daily goal to collect the reward and remember to claim your free constructor coins and free items each day!

The prize progress is how far you have got on this event, the more arts and crafts items you make the more prizes you will unlock

NOTE: the bar at the top of the personal progress tab shows you how close you are to unlocking an item, the more arts and crafts items you collect the more the bar will fill up. Once you have unlocked an item on the bar at the top you will be able to use the arts and crafts items you have collected and constructor coins to purchase that pack which you will then be able to find in the home store.

This template can be found under the driveway homes tab and built on a standard or premium residence, the first one is free then they cost simoleons depending on how many houses you have already built. You can add up to 4 cars to this house lot!

The only difference between the standard and the premium residence is the premium has a large garden with patio and seating. I really like the layout!

Overall I don’t really like this house, before I saw it I was expecting it to be a school to fit the scholar theme so I was surprised to see a house. I don’t feel this house fits the theme of the rest of the prizes in this live event.

Earning Constructor Coins? Previously on these events I used social points on the Mega Spin Plant to win constructor points. I earn social points by completing the cooking hobby and earning LP, I can then turn the LP into SP using the social point plant on a normal garden patch- this was when it cost 5LP- the social point plant now costs 20LP so you may want to try the option below first instead:

Or you can use 450 candles for the Spin Plant (a good way to use up any spare candles) which will also earn you constructor coins but the amounts are less than they are from the Mega Spin Plant

What is the minimum and maximum amount of coins you can earn on the mega spin plant? The minimum is 10 and the maximum is 500

Now on the coin flower patch you can see the chances of getting the different combinations on each spin plant, click on the green i button to see:

Laura Craft? You may have noticed at the front of one of your houses there is a board with a bubble of a person holding arts and crafts items above it, this is Laura Craft, you can buy her for real money to help you complete the event. When you buy her, you select the item you want her to make from the options: 200 candles, 300 pottery, 450 jewelry or 500 glassware (the amounts seem to differ for most of you and I have no idea why that is!) (you will unlock all the options once you have unlocked all the stations) and you will be able to collect them after 2 hours.

Do I think she is worth it? They have improved Laura Craft a lot since the first event (although it would be great if she made constructor coins) she used to be able to collect every 8 hours, they have now changed this to 2 hours so she is more useful now so if you are struggling then you may want to splash out and give her a try but remember you will only get her for this event, you will have to buy her again to use her for a live event in the future. I personally don’t ever buy her, if I don’t manage to earn enough items or coins in the time limit I just wait until the next time the event is available!

If I brought Laura Craft in the last event do I get her for free or do I have to buy her again? You have to buy her again for this event.

Once the event is over it will convert your unused resources into simoleons, the conversion rate is half the amount of resources, for example, if you have 10,000 candles left over you will earn 5,000 simoleons, if you only have 1 of a resource left over you will only earn 1 simoleon. When a new live event becomes available you start from 0 resources

If I don’t complete this event this time will I have to start from the beginning when it returns? No, you will start from where you got to this time!

This house can be found under the driveway homes tab and built on a standard or premium residence, the first one is free then they cost simoleons depending on how many houses you have already built. You can add up to 4 cars to this house lot!

The other three car parking spaces need to be unlocked by purchasing with simoleons:

Additional Space One: S250,000
Additional Space Two: S750,000
Additional Space Three: S1,500,000

Once you purchase an additional space you will be able to add another car but you need to have more than one adult/senior sim living in this house to add more than one car otherwise it will just switch their car to the new one you have just brought. For example if you wanted 3 cars in this house you need 3 adult or senior sims living in this house.

The only difference between the standard and premium residence is the garden on the premium is bigger and has a pool! I really love the theme for this live event, it is great to see something so different to what we are used to

The Sims Freeplay- The Secret Winter Wonderland Quest

The Secret Winter Wonderland Quest is back from the 3rd July as a Player Favourite Quest, it was previously available as the 2015 Christmas Quest. You will be able to start this quest between the 3rd-18th July to get the full time limit.

These are optional so you will need to click on the green play button next to the title of the event in the active tasks tab to start:

You will then have 12 days to complete this quest to unlock the gingerbread house template. Each day there are a set of goals to complete to unlock icy furniture so there are 12 sets of goals to complete before the time is up.

If you completed this last time you will not get this quest again, if you started it last time but didn’t complete it you will have to start from the beginning this time but you will get a free one of each prize you have already unlocked. If you purchased the gingerbread house template from the online store but haven’t unlocked all prior prizes you will be able to complete this quest to unlock those.

You may have to wait between completing each set so you complete one set per day (this is different each time it returns, sometimes after completing a set you have to wait for a certain amount of time before being able to continue with the quest unless you are behind then you will move straight onto the next set once you have completed the previous whereas other times you can go straight on to the next set of goals once the previous is complete without waiting.

Call a sim (on the phone, select Discuss Christmas lights)- 48 seconds

Buy a reindeer light (outdoor decorations section)

Turn reindeer light on- 30 seconds

Check the hum in a refrigerator- 8 seconds

Check a refrigerator again- 3 hours 40 minutes

Have a deep sleep (in a bed)- 6 hours 30 minutes (can be started early)

FIRST SET IS COMPLETE

Wait for day 2 (come back tomorrow for the next set of goals, you may need to wait a certain amount of time to start the next set, the time depends on when you completed the first set) NOTE: you will not get this goal if you are behind in completing the goals (or sometimes when quests repeat you also don’t have to wait) it will go straight to the next goal once you complete the first set)

Investigate the snow- 1 minute (x by front of house)

Have 2 sims in the same house
Have a snowball fight- 15 minutes (select interaction between two sims)

Investigate the shadow- 1 hour 15 minutes (x by front of house)

Say hello to the Spirte- 10 minutes

Ask Spirte what’s happening- 2 hours 15 minutes

Place Icy Wallpaper- Purple Frost from wall section of home store

Place Icy Flooring- Frosted Glaze from floor section of home store

Check for the portal- 2 hours 40 minutes (fridge)

Set fridge to coldest- 7 hours

SECOND SET IS COMPLETE

Wait for day 3 (come back tomorrow for the next set of goals, you may need to wait a certain amount of time to start the next set, the time depends on when you completed the second set) NOTE: you will not get this goal if you are behind in completing the goals (or sometimes when quests repeat you also don’t have to wait) it will go straight to the next goal once you complete the second set)

Find Jack in the park: you will find Jack in the thinking man statue- 1 hour

Tap the park thinking man statue with the wand- 3 seconds
Plead with Jack- 45 minutes

Ask snow Sprites for a distraction- 4 hours 15 minutes

Sneak up on Jack- 1 second (if blue footprints appear try having your sim move away from Jack before selecting the task or send a sim to the ice palace, they should follow then go back to the park)

Build a fire to defrost the snow sprites- 11 hours 25 minutes (click on x)

The Sims Freeplay- Holidays ‘n’ Helipads Live Event

Complete this brand new live event (starts 20th June) to unlock retreat themed items and if you complete the whole event in the time limit you unlock the Perfect Paradise house template and helicopters! This event is only here for 10 days and the aim of it is to collect enough arts and crafts items from the arts and crafts stations (found in the event tab of buy mode) to unlock all the items in this event.

Can’t find your arts and crafts stations? Click on the craft station in your event tab to get the option to find your station, it will take you to the house where your stations can be found!

Want to skip the tasks list? Click here to head straight to the prizes!

Place a crafting station (find the candle station in the events tab of buy mode (or your inventory)- you can only buy 4)

Make some arts and crafts items (click on the candle station to make)- 23 seconds

This takes you to the prize progress tab (you can get to it by clicking on the button in the corner of the screen)

Here you will see you have collected enough items to unlock the Secluded Stone Walls pack. When you unlock each pack, before the items are available in your home store you need to purchase them with the arts and crafts items you make- this goal is coming up!

Buy the Secluded Stone Walls pack (click on the event button, scroll down and click purchase- this will cost you 50 candles)

Use a coin flower patch (buy the coin flower patch from the event tab and select the spin plant option)

Check the daily goals (click on the event button and find the daily goals tab- claim the ones you can!)

Remember to claim your rewards each day!

Collect bonuses (while collecting after a certain amount of time you will see the arts and crafts item appear above that sims head, click to collect the bonus item!)

Continue collecting arts and crafts items- this is the last step but the event is not over, keep collecting the arts and crafts to unlock everything!

If you want to speed up a collecting arts and crafts action it will cost you SP, you will get the bonus arts and craft items as well if you speed it up!

This house template is on the coastal location lot, on the early access version I was unable to get my sims to go swimming in the sea on this template (blue footprints appeared) unlike the rest of the houses we have already unlocked with the coastal surroundings. Hopefully this works on the actual version!

Premium: The only difference between the standard and premium residences is the premium has an extra pool, some outdoor furniture and a helicopter in the back garden:

What is the minimum and maximum amount of coins you can earn on the mega spin plant? The minimum is 10 and the maximum is 500

If I brought Laura Craft in the last event do I get her for free or do I have to buy her again? You have to buy her again for this event.

Once the event is over it will convert your unused resources into simoleons, the conversion rate is half the amount of resources, for example, if you have 10,000 candles left over you will earn 5,000 simoleons, if you only have 1 of a resource left over you will only earn 1 simoleon. When a new live event becomes available you start from 0 resources

If I don’t complete this event this time will I have to start from the beginning when it returns? No, you will start from where you got to this time!

The Sims Freeplay- Profession Careers: Spa Staff

Once you reach level 45 you will be able to build the Day Spa to begin the Spa Staff Career:

The Day Spa can be found behind the Movie Studio and Stadium in Simtown (from June 2023 update)

This is another profession career so it is a little different from a normal career as you can actually go to work with 2 of your sims and help them during their work day!

You can either go to work with your sims or send them to work offsite, if you send them to work offsite this means you won’t see them at the day spa. But you can go to work with your sim if you select send alone or accompany sim and then they can help sims and earn resources (only two sims can be at the day spa at one time, all other sims with this career have to work offsite)

When you send a sim to work at the day spa sims will enter with bubbles above their heads, you need to click on this bubble and select one of the tasks that appears, the amount of grey sections there are tells you how many tasks you have to complete before you earn the reward that is pictured in the middle of the bubble:

Once you have built the day spa 3 workstations will already be unlocked (Change Room, Reception Desk, Lounge) so you can start helping sims by completing actions using these workstations, you will see options similar to the image below when you click on one of the bubbles:

Each of these tasks has to be completed in a different workstation so your sims serve healthy snacks using the lounge, you need to use the reception desk to check in clients and search for lost items using the change room workstation.

TIP: if you are unsure which workstation is required it tells you above the action!

Only one sim can use a workstation at one time (new tasks will be added when you unlock new workstations, keep reading for more information)

Each time your sims complete a task (that section will turn from grey to green) a day spa coin bubble will appear above their head, click this and they will earn day spa coins and XP, the experience points are towards levelling up, so they will level up quicker than if you just sent them to work.

Once all the tasks have been completed all the grey sections will now appear green, click on this to receive your reward (the rewards are day spa coins and resources used to upgrade the different workstations at the day spa):

HOURS

You can send your sims to work anytime for 12 hours but if you are helping sims they can finish early if they reach the quota, they need to help 15 sims (you need to complete all the tasks for a sim to have helped 1 sim) during their shift, then they will end their shift early and you earn extra day spa coins and resources. Both sims can help the same sims and each time one of them finishes helping a sim they will both have helped one sim:

If they are working offsite they will just work for 12 hours and they won’t earn any resources as they won’t be helping any sims.

Salon Manager– when your sim specialises as the Salon Manager they can continue to level up and unlock more workstations:

Once you unlock the workstation you have to use the resources to build it before you can help sims using these workstations, only the salon manager will be able to complete tasks to help sims that require one of the workstations above. I will be going into detail about workstations later in this post.

Once you unlock the workstation you have to use the resources to build it before you can help sims using these workstations, only the spa manager will be able to complete tasks to help sims that require one of the workstations above. If you don’t manage to complete a badge in a shift the progress for that badge will reset and you will have to start again on the next shift (for example, if your task is to help 2 important sims and you only help one, in your next shift it will reset so you will have to help 2 important sims in that shift to get the badge)

Each level requires you to complete more badges, you cannot level up until all the badges have been collected.

Who are the important sims I need to help to get a badge?

These are the sims with question marks in the bubbles above their heads:

When you reach level 10 in a profession career you unlock the work outfit in that specialist for a female and male adult sim to wear at any time, you can find these in the wardrobe under outfits and shoes:

Remember:

You can only go to work with 2 sims at a time, all other sims in this career will work offsite so you won’t see them during the day
Only one sim can use a workstation at one time

Workstations

The workstations require resources to upgrade them so the time an action takes will decrease and the coins and XP you earn for each action will increase. The resources are shown below:

Some resources are not unlocked straight away, build new workstations to unlock them

You can see the resources you have in the second tab of the professions menu under storage (you can access this using the button in the top left hand corner of your screen when you are at the day spa)

In the professions menu you can see:

Workplace Overview- here you can see the workstations you have currently unlocked, what level you are on and what resources you need to upgrade them
Storage- this is where you see your current resources collected and on the right hand side is your day spa coins, the day spa coins are used to increase your storage if you need to and trade for resources (which is in the next tab)
Resource Exchange- here you can either spin for resources using simoleons or LP for the mega spin as well as trade hospital coins for resources:
- Trade 2,000 coins for 10 massage oils
- Trade 2,000 coins for 10 nail files
- Trade 10 massage oils and 10 nail files for 5 scissors
- Trade 6,000 coins for 10 tealight candles
- Trade 6,000 coins for 10 frangipanis
- Trade 10 scissors and 10 tealight candles for 5 lipsticks
- Trade 10 scissors and 10 frangipanis for 5 face masks
- Trade 10 lipsticks and 10 face masks for 1 gold rock stack

The tables below show the upgrade resources needed, the time each upgrade will take and the time an action takes and the amount of coins and XP you earn when you complete each action, only one of these will upgrade each time so if the time taken decreases then the amount of coins and XP you earn will stay the same until you upgrade again and then the amount of coins you earn will increase while the time taken and XP will stay the same.

NOTE: you can only upgrade one workstation at a time unless you are VIP

If you don’t have the amount of resources you need it will say it costs LP, when you have the right amount of resources you can build/ upgrade the workstation without LP (you know you have all the resources you need when there are ticks next to all the resources):

Unlike the other profession careers, there are no visual upgrades to the workstations in the day spa when you level them up

This is because you have already sent them to work once today, if you are VIP level 1 you can send them to work twice in a day (this will cost you 15LP still if you are VIP)

Wait until tomorrow and you will be able to send them to work again without being VIP.

Do I need to be VIP to use the day spa?

NO! If you are VIP you can send your sims to work twice a day (VIP level 1), upgrade more than one workstation at a time (VIP level 7) and use the mega spin (VIP level 2) but you do not have to be VIP
