The Sims Freeplay- A Bump-y Ride Quest

Early Access to Beta Provided by EA/ Firemonkeys

LEVEL UNLOCKS: 8 UNLOCKS: pregnancy and pregnancy events

Pregnancy has arrived in simtown! Once you complete the Two and a Half Sims Quest you will be able to build the maternity store in simtown from level 8 (you can find it next to the real estate agency and near the mall) once the store is built this quest will begin. When you complete the quest you unlock pregnancy so your female adult sims will grow a baby bump!

You cannot complete this quest at the same time as any other discovery quest

The price for building the maternity store will vary depending on how many businesses you have already built

In this quest you will be completing the pregnancy event, there is a 9 day time limit for this event and if you complete in the time limit you will unlock the baby bonus but you can still complete this once the time limit is up.

  • Have a Doctor explain pregnancies- 30 seconds (call a Doctor using a phone, they will appear at that house so you can select the option)

  • Talk pregnancies with a sim- 30 seconds

  • Purchase the maternity outfit from the maternity store- black and grey outfit costs 500 maternity tokens

NOTE: your sims can only wear the maternity clothes when they have a baby bump (check out my maternity store post here)

Once this quest is over you can still earn maternity tokens to buy all the items from the maternity store by completing another pregnancy event!

  • Place empty crib- buy one from the infant section of the home store

  • Start the pregnancy event- for this you need an adult female, this event takes 9 days! Click on the crib and select the pregnancy event option and then select the adult female who you want to become pregnant:

  • Select sim icon- click on the pregnancy event button in the corner of the screen then click on the picture of your sim

  • View pregnancy daily goals- head back to the pregnancy event tab

Daily goals have to be completed by the pregnant sim, no other sim can complete these goals. Your sim has 9 days of goals to complete, you don’t have to finish a days goals on time, if you are behind you will start on the next day as soon as the previous days goals are complete BUT you cannot complete day 9 once the time is up, the baby will be born straight away once the time is up and you will only get the baby bonus if all goals and tasks are completed before the time is up (keep reading for more information). Completing pregnancy events earns maternity tokens used to buy maternity clothes and nursery furniture from the maternity store.

  • View pregnancy support tasks- head back to the pregnancy event tab

Support tasks can be completed by any sim, you need to complete all support tasks and daily tasks within the 9 day time limit to earn the baby bonus

  • View baby bonus- go back to the pregnancy event tab and click on the ‘i’ icon above the picture on the event tab

If you complete all the daily goals every day and all the support tasks you will earn bonuses for that baby, they will earn more experience points when they complete actions, complete actions faster, are not affected by low motives (low needs) and they will have these bonuses for life!

  • Complete the pregnancy event

You need to complete all 9 days of daily goals and support tasks to earn the baby bonus, once the 9 days are up you will no longer get the baby bonus but your sim will still give birth. The 9 days symbolise a month a day so once you complete day 3 and start day 4 your sim will reach the 2nd trimester and their baby bump will appear, they will then start wearing the maternity clothes you brought earlier in this quest. Once you complete day 6 and start day 7 they will reach the 3rd trimester and their baby bump will get bigger

NOTE: I know I said in my video that appointments aren’t going to be in the update but I misunderstood when they told me appointments were going to be removed- they were talking about the aerobic and ultrasound appointments not the doctors appointment which is still available, sorry about that!

TIP: If you cannot afford the simoleons for the appointments select the LP option instead, this post may help if you need to earn some LP quickly!

Stuck on a daily goal or support task? Check out my list here that explains how to complete each goal!

If you don’t manage to complete this event in the time limit you will miss out on the baby bonus but the baby will still be born!

QUEST IS COMPLETE!

Pregnancy has now been unlocked on the crib, so you now have two pregnancy options:

  • Pregnancy Event– you have 9 days to complete all the daily goals and support tasks to earn the baby bonus and maternity tokens for the baby is born
  • Pregnancy– takes 6 days but there are no daily goals or tasks to complete, your sim will just grow a baby bump and then give birth after the 6 days!

The Sims Freeplay- Guide to Pregnancy

Early Access to Beta Provided by EA/ Firemonkeys- may differ from actual version

In this post I will explain how the two types of pregnancy work! The Add a Baby option is still available if you still want a baby without pregnancy

You firstly need to complete the Two and a Half Sims Quest and A Bump-y Ride Discovery Quest to unlock pregnancy, once you have you will find these three options when you click on a crib:

  • Pregnancy Event
  • Pregnancy
  • Adding a Baby

Pregnancy Event:

  • Takes 9 days to complete, each day represents one month of pregnancy
  • There are daily goals and support tasks to be completed
  • Daily goals have to be completed by the pregnant sim, there are 9 days of goals to complete
  • Support tasks can be completed by all other sims
  • If you complete the daily goals every day and all the support tasks the new sim (baby) will earn baby bonuses- they will earn more experience points when they complete actions, complete actions faster, are not affected by low motives (low needs) and they will have these bonuses for life!
  • You don’t have to finish a days goals on time, if you are behind you will start on the next day as soon as the previous days goals are complete BUT you cannot complete day 9 once the time is up, the baby will be born straight away once the time is up
  • Completing the goals and tasks earns you maternity tokens which are used to buy maternity clothes and nursery furniture from the maternity store
  • Once you reach day 4 your sim will reach the second trimester and will grow a baby bump and change into their maternity clothes
  • Once you reach day 7 your sim will reach the third trimester and the baby bump will get bigger!
  • If you don’t manage to complete this event in the time limit you will miss out on the baby bonus but the baby will still be born
  • If you can wait until a pregnancy event is offering a maternity prize pack for completing in time, there is usually one available each update. You can find all the prize packs available in this post

NOTE: You can only complete one Pregnancy Event at a time

Stuck on a daily goal or support task? Check out my list here that explains how to complete each goal!

Want to see an example of a full 9 day pregnancy event and tips to completing one? Click here to read my completing a pregnancy event post

TIP: If you cannot afford the simoleons for the appointments select the LP option instead, this post may help if you need to earn some LP quickly!

Pregnancy

  • Takes 6 days
  • There are no daily goals or tasks to complete so you cannot earn maternity tokens
  • Pregnancy skips the first trimester so your sim starts with the baby bump and after 3 days the bump will get bigger
  • The baby will be born once the 6 day time limit is up

NOTE: You can only have one Pregnancy Event but can have many pregnancies at one time

Remember:

  • You need to complete the A Bump-y Ride Discovery Quest to unlock pregnancy, build the Maternity Store to start this quest
  • Only adult female sims can become pregnant but they don’t have to be married!
  • Pregnant sims have maternity leave so they cannot participate in professions, careers, hobbies or live events until they give birth
  • Once the quest is over you can still earn maternity tokens to buy all the items from the maternity store by completing another pregnancy event (206,740 tokens are needed in total to buy everything from the maternity store)
  • Find my TIPS to completing 9 day pregnancy events here
  • TIP: If you cannot afford the simoleons for the appointments select the LP option instead, this post may help if you need to earn some LP quickly!

The Sims Freeplay- Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow Live Event

THIS EVENT IS OVER

The Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow Live Event is back! You have 10 days to unlock the hairstyles and salon themed items!

Live Events are very similar to a community event but this time you don’t need help from everyone who plays the sims freeplay to unlock the prizes, there are only personal prizes this time!

Check out my Guide to Completing Live Events (including tips!) HERE!

This event is only here for 10 days and the aim of it is to collect enough arts and crafts items from the arts and crafts stations (found in the event tab of buy mode) to unlock all the items in this event

NOTE: if you did another Live Event then you will find your arts and crafts stations in your inventory (or in the house you left them at) you will only be able to use the candle ones until you unlock the other stations in this event

Can’t find your arts and crafts stations? Click on the craft station in your event tab to get the option to find your station, it will take you to the house where your stations can be found!

Place a crafting station (find the candle station in the events tab of buy mode (or your inventory)- you can only buy 4)

Make some arts and crafts items (click on the candle station to make)- 23 seconds

This takes you to the prize progress tab (you can get to it by clicking on the hair event button in the corner of the screen)

Here you will see you have collected enough items to unlock the Fancy ‘Foliage’ pack! When you unlock each pack, before the items are available in your home store you need to purchase them with the arts and crafts items you make- this goal is coming up!

Restock a crafting station (when the stock runs out you will have to restock before you can make anymore arts and crafts items)- You can restock instantly for 18 uses for 10SPs or restock for 2 uses which will take 10 seconds this time

Buy the fancy ‘foliage’ pack (click on the hair event button, scroll down and click purchase- this will cost you 50 candles)

Use a coin flower patch (buy the coin flower patch from the event tab and select the spin plant option)

Check the daily goals (click on the closet event button and find the daily goals tab- claim the ones you can!)

Remember to claim your rewards each day!

Collect bonuses (while collecting after a certain amount of time you will see the arts and crafts item appear above that sims head, click to collect the bonus item!)

Continue collecting arts and crafts items- this is the last step but the event is not over, keep collecting the arts and crafts to unlock everything!

If you want to speed up a collecting arts and crafts action it will cost you SPs, you will get the bonus resources as well if you speed it up!

Constructor Coins

You earn constructor coins by:

Personal Progress prizes

Completing Daily Goals

Coin Plant Patches

Earning Construtor Coins? Previously on these events I used social points on the Mega Spin Plant to win constructor points. I earn social points by completing the cooking hobby and earning LPs, I can then turn the LPs into SPs using the social point plant on a normal garden patch- this was when it cost 5LPs- the social point plant now costs 20LPs so you may want to try the option below first instead:

Or you can use 450 candles for the Spin Plant (a good way to use up any spare candles) which will also earn you constructor coins but the amounts are less than they are from the Mega Spin Plant

What is the minimum and maximum amount of coins you can earn on the mega spin plant? The minimum is 10 and the maximum is 500

Now on the coin flower patch you can see the chances of getting the different combinations on each spin plant, click on the green i button to see:

Laura Craft? You may have noticed at the front of one of your houses there is a board with a bubble of a person holding arts and crafts items above it, this is Laura Craft, you can buy her for real money to help you complete the event. When you buy her, you select the item you want her to make from the options: 200 candles,  300 pottery, 450 jewelry or 500 glassware (the amounts seem to differ for most of you and I have no idea why that is!) (you will unlock all the options once you have unlocked all the stations) and you will be able to collect them after 2 hours.

Do I think she is worth it? They have improved Laura Craft a lot since the first event (although it would be great if she made constructor coins) she used to be able to collect every 8 hours, they have now changed this to 2 hours so she is more useful now so if you are struggling then you may want to splash out and give her a try but remember you will only get her for this event, you will have to buy her again to use her for a live event in the future.

If I brought Laura Craft in the last event do I get her for free or do I have to buy her again? You have to buy her again for this event.

Check out my Guide to Completing Live Events (including tips!) HERE!
