This quest unlocks patios to begin you need to find the woman wearing the hard hat in the park called Bree. If you complete this quest in the time limit you will unlock the make out couch, you can still complete this quest once the time limit is up to add patios but you won’t get the couch
You cannot complete this quest at the same time as any other discovery quest
HOW LONG DOES THIS QUEST TAKE TO COMPLETE?
Times may vary depending on the star rating the item has
- Talk to Bree- 1 minute (woman in hard hat)
- Ponder in a chair- 2 minutes 24 seconds
- Call a friend- 4 minutes
- Call a cab to the DIY home (select option on a phone)
- Question Bree- 3 hours 30 minutes
- Join Bree for an interview- 18 hours 30 minutes
- Watch the interview at the DIY home- 4 minutes 30 seconds (TV)
- Read the DIY magazine at the DIY home- 7 hours 30 minutes
- Have 2 sims at the DIY home
- Discuss patios with a sim- 10 minutes (select interaction between two sims)
- Present ideas to Bree- 45 minutes
- Measure patio space- 18 hours 30 minutes (go to a sims home and click on the x near the mailbox)
- Finalise the patio plan- 6 hours 30 minutes (talk to Bree)
- Source materials (phone)- 10 hours
- Prepare lemonade at the DIY home- 3 hours 10 minutes (fridge)
- Clean the DIY home- 1 day (cupboard)
- Buy outdoor decorations (spend S5,000- you can buy items such as fire pit, bamboo lamps or garden screens that cost in total at least S5,000)
- Fall asleep in a bath- 2 hours 20 minutes (can be started early)
- Hang out with a sim- 1 day (select interaction with another sim)
- Call Bree- 4 minutes (phone)
- Build a patio (go to the home store and open the patio tab): To build a patio surface, touch and drag on the grass
like building a room, green means you can build, red means that there is something in the way, you can also resize a patio by dragging the white highlighted edges.
And like building a pool you can join patios together.
- Have 3 sims at DIY home
- Have 3 sims party with Bree- 8 hours 30 minutes (outdoor stereo)
- Talk to Bree- 5 minutes
- Have all sims leave DIY home (use the simtracker to send them home)

STARTING THE LOVEY DOVEY BALCONY QUEST: you need to have completed the multi story renovations quest then you will find Bree at the park 24 hours after you complete the patio quest!
Prize: Make Out Couch
Cost? First one is free after that they cost S7,500 each
Where can it be found? It can be found in the living room section, teens can snuggle (one sim chills out- 8 minutes and the other selects snuggle- 16 minutes) adults can make out (one sim waits for make out partner- 8 minutes and the other selects make out- 16 minutes)
Is it worth it? It’s nice that teens can now cuddle together but it’s a strange prize for this quest! It’s different but I wouldn’t worry too much if you don’t complete in the time limit
Even if you don’t complete the quest in the time limit you will still unlock these patio tables and chairs:
All of these items can be found in the outdoor furniture section and the chairs can also be found in the dining room section

How do I start this discovery quest?
Find Bree (the woman in the hard hat) in the park to start this quest
Why can’t I do this discovery quest yet?
You cannot do more than one discovery quest at the same time, if you are currently on another one (the list can be found here) you will not be able to do this one until that one is completed
Can I do discovery quests at the same time as a main quest?
Yes you can
Do I have to do this quest?
If you don’t start the quest you don’t have to do it at all but if you have already started it you need to complete it before you can move on to the next quest
I haven’t started this quest yet, will it still be available when I want to do it?
Yes it will be, you can choose to start it whenever you like
How do I call a cab to the DIY house?
Using a phone
What do you mean when you say a goal can be started early?
Any goal that you can normally do can be started early because you will have access to it and any goal that you can’t normally do you will have to wait until you get the goal to be able to complete it
The tip with this method is to put the sim doing that action early in a different house that you cannot go to until you get that goal or it will not work
I can’t complete the goal to buy outdoor decorations, why?
You need to buy from the outdoor decorations section only
How much does it cost to build a patio?
The cheapest is S3,000 for 2×1
I had all sims leave the DIY home but it didn’t complete the goal, why?
Try and have all your sims not doing any action, this sometimes makes the game recognise you have completed that goal
What do I get if I complete this quest in the time limit?
The make out couch
What happens if I don’t complete in the time limit, can I still finish this quest?
Yes you have to finish it to unlock the ability to build patios before you can move onto the next quest
I didn’t complete in the time limit, can I restart the quest?
No, you cannot redo quests
Can I still get the prize if I don’t complete in the time limit?
No, the only way to get the limited time prizes is by completing the quest in the time limit
I don’t like this quest! Can I just skip it?
No, you have to complete this quest before you can move onto the next one now that you have started it, if you don’t start it you don’t have to do it
Some times are slightly different on my game, why is this?
Times may vary depending on the star rating of the item you are using, as the higher star rating an item has the quicker you will complete a goal
Some times are really off/ different goals show for me, why is this?

The Girl Who Games 
Since the DIY update, one of my sims living at the Latin villa on one of the beach lots, cannot access the front half of the lot. I can make her go to the back but not the front half. When I send her home she will appear inside the house but can’t move and gets the bubble with the blue feet. The only way to get her out is to send her to another house, so I moved her out. Is anybody else experiencing the same? Do you know how I can fix this? Thank you for your blog. It’s awesome!

I don’t know what happens but I cant make rooms on my house that I bought two story’s for so if u don’t understand I’ll just rewrite but um so I have a house and I built two story’s then I broke the rooms and just sticked to on floor then after the update I can’t make rooms for a second floor I have to buy a second floor now what do I do please help
They have annoyingly changed this in the latest update, you now have to rebuy floors when you delete a house

you need to complete the multi story renovations quest, then go to the community center and Bree will be there.

Please help, ive done everything for the diy homes patio quest, I left the diy house (the last step for the quest) and nothing happened, I dont even have the option to go back to the house, it shows that I have 96% completed and it still says to leave the diy house… which I already did, so lost, no idea what to do
It works for some people if you cancel all your sims actions

Last night, May 6, I brifley had the opening screen for the balcony quest, saying something like: contact Bree at the DYI house. I went about my chores and when my sims were sent to work or busy, I went to a phone to call a cab for the DYI house, but the option wasn’t available on the phone menu…
The invitation to the quest hasn’t shown up since. Please, what can I do? I’d hate to loose out on the balcony quest.

I wanted to let you and your fans know that if anyone can’t find Bree at the Community Center for the balcony quest, they might have to wait 24 hours after they finish the patio quest before she’ll show up. I couldn’t find her yesterday (the 6th), even though you and others said that the quest was unlocked. I looked online and found a comment by someone on another site. The lady said that she had found a post that claimed that everyone has to wait 24 hours between the two quests. I just received a small popup a little while ago that said that Bree is back and I was able to start the quest. It might possibly be 24 hours after I finished the first one.
By the way, I use your site all the time and I’ve even recommended it to others. Thank you so much! I’m sure that it’s a lot of work to maintain this website. It’s a very professional quality blog! If I wasn’t so broke, I’d love to donate to help you keep it up. I hope I can donate soon.

you can’t build the community center until you complete the multi story renovations quest, and you have to complete previous quests before you do that one

Hiya. Thank you for all the help. The balcony quest shows up when I start the game but when I choose to start it I just go to my house. Is it not startable? Also I am connected to Facebook for my sims game. Is there away to get neighbors without being Facebook friends because non of my friends play anymore and neighbor tasks can’t all be done. They don’t have the items or buildings.

you need to go to the community center and speak to Bree
If you aren’t on an apple device the only way to add is via facebook, if you are on an apple then you can also add through game center

I’m pretty sure I’ve completed the multi story renovations quest because I am able to create a second story and customize. But u can’t find Bree at the community center or park to do the balcony quest. Is this because of the book of spells quest? Not sure if it automatically started after the patio quest (don’t remember pressing anything to continue to that quest) but I think I’m stuck with the book of spells quest until I’m done, no way to bypass to do another quest??? I still have the people salsa dancing in the park and it still gives me the option to start that quiz but I can’t find Bree 😦 maybe I’m missing something
You won’t be able to do the balcony quest until you complete the book of spells quest, the same with the dance to remember quest, you may see the dancers in the park but you won’t be able to start the quest yet.
Also Bree takes a while to show up after you complete the patio quest so she should be there waiting after a few days.

How do you complete the multistory renovations quest? I’m a level 45, have multistory homes, and have completed the patio quest, but I don’t see Bree where you suggested to look and I don’t have any quests. I’ve been playing for quite some time, so I don’t know if that quest came after I started playing or not.
Also, I’m seeing comments about the haunted house that you can build. Do you know how you get access to that? I’ve seen a North Pole house in a neighbor’s town, but have never seen that as an option to build either. Thanks!!
Nevermind about the balcony quest. It popped up today while I was playing. Still not sure about the haunted house part though.

Hi, I was just wondering if there is a new quest to be able to build up to five floors, because I still can’t build past three! I’ve a updated and long ago finished the multi-story renovation quest, and am way above the required level to start the DIY quests. Is it just after those three quests are completed that the five floors feature becomes available? Sorry if someone has already asked this, but I’m having trouble accessing/posting comments on certain pages. Also, sorry for rambling.

Hi! I have a question. The balcony quest can be available after you finish the Multi-story quest, right? Will the balcony quest activate quickly after the multi-story quest? I am on that quest right now (the MSRenovations) and i have already used a lot of my LP just to finish it because i badly want the elevators and escalators. By the way I love your posts! Looks like you really give your determination in playing SFP.
Lastly, is cheating advisable or not? I have a friend who has already a house with 10 floors and has done many tweaks in the game. I want it too, but I already had a bad experience with cheating in SFP. Thanks!!!

No cheating is not advisable, nor is it allowed, if you have any troubles with your game EA will not help you if you have cheated and it can really mess up your game so I would not recommend it at all
Hi, my name’s Julie and i’ve got problem 😔 i don’t remember if i have finished quest Sunset Mall with a price (it was a long time ago), but a few days ago i’ve built pickle sauce for 1000sl. But it hastn’t even start (to be built). I can’t start any other building becAuse there is shown that i can’t start any other construction because pickle sauce in Sunset Mall is already under construction. I can’t even see it and i’m sure that it has passed 15 hrs. What to do? 😪
You need to press the upstairs button at the mall to see the pickle bar and click on it to finish building it.
