The Sims Freeplay- Deleting a Sim & Adopting

In this post I am going to cover both Deleting a Sim and Adoption as they are related, keep reading for more information.

Deleting a sim is really quick and easy, all you need to do is click on the sim you want to delete from the game (when they aren’t completing an action) and you will see a few options. On the right hand side of your sims name you will see their picture and a red circle with a cross through it, this is the delete button:

Click on this and it will ask you if you are sure you want to move this sim out of town (which means you will remove them from the game):

If a sim is working towards upgrading a life orb when you delete them they will leave behind the orb they started with, for example, if you give a sim a bronze life orb to turn into a silver but you delete them before they have a chance to upgrade the orb they will leave behind the bronze life orb. If they were working towards a bronze life orb they won’t leave behind any orb.

Infants, toddlers and preteens can all be adopted if both their parents are deleted from the game. Once both parents have been deleted, the adult or senior sim you want to adopt them needs to be nice (or for an infant cuddle them) until they become good friends, then you will get the adopt option appear.

Once you click adopt the child will be moved to their new home and take the surname of the sim who adopted them so you won’t get the adopt option if there are already 4 sims living in the house you want to move them to.

The Sims Freeplay- Hobbies: Horse Tricks

STABLES – 1 STAR HORSES – ADULT SIMS ONLY – PRIZES: 2 STAR HORSES AND 3LP

Once you have built the stables in the Need for Steed Quest you can built and clear the first arena which is horse tricks (read my guide to the stables post for more information) Once built 2 adult sims and 2 horses can complete this hobby at one time.

Send an adult sim to the stables, click on the horse and select:

  • Horse Tricks- 3 hours

After the time has passed come back and click the exclamation mark above your sims head to find one of the ribbon collectibles. Every time your sim does the horse tricks your horse tricks hobby skill level up percentage will increase, once you reach 100% you will level up, there are 6 levels. You need to reach level 6 to be able to unlock all of the ribbon collectibles, once unlocked you will be able to find them.

The table below shows the level up percentage:

This may change in future updates

 LEVEL Horse Tricks
1-2 50%
2-3 40%
3-4 30%
4-5 25%
5-6 20%

For example you would need to do horse tricks 2 times to reach level 2 from level 1

The next table shows you for each level what ribbon collectibles you unlock (so you can then find those ones too) and also the level up reward that a second and future sims will receive when they level up in this hobby:

LEVEL  TITLE 1st TIME LEVEL UP UNLOCKS 2nd+ TIMES LEVEL UP REWARD
1 Horse Servant Take a Bow and Here Boy are unlocked in the hobby collection
2 Neighbourly Friend Nod your Head and Kisses and Hugs are now unlocked in the hobby collection 250XP
3 Obedience Trainer Stay Put and Meet and Greet are now unlocked in the hobby collection 500XP
4 Sideshow Rider Rearing on Up and Spinning Pony are now unlocked in the hobby collection S750
5 Trick Master Back it Up and Look Away are now unlocked in the hobby collection 10,000 Town Value
6 Horse Whisperer Say Hi and Shake your Head are now unlocked in the hobby collection.

You can now complete the collection!

1LP

NOTE: only the first sim completing this hobby needs to get to level 6 to unlock all the collectibles, future sims will be able to find any collectible even if they are only on level 1 in this hobby!

You won’t find a new collectible each time, you will get repeats, if this happens just keep going, you will find them eventually! If it is still taking too long you can use the lucky spin on the row where you cannot find the item, this will cost LPs, when you click on the LP button it will clear the row and give you a random collectible on that row so you aren’t guaranteed a new item (you will get back any other collectibles you already had in that row) Need to earn some LPs to use the lucky spin?

The completed horse tricks collection is shown below, once you complete the collection you need to click ‘start a new collection’ at the top of the hobby collection screen, this clears the board so you can complete the collection again to earn more rewards (you will only get the option to restart the hobby collection when you have completed the collection):

You will earn XPs when you complete a row in the hobby but to complete the collection you need to find all 12 of the collectibles

The rewards for completing this collection are 2 star horses and 3LP:

You will now also be able to use the 2 star horses to complete this hobby quicker!

  • From the second time onwards each time you complete the collection you will earn 3LP

The Sims Freeplay- Careers: Politician

Politician is one of 8 careers your adult sims can have (not including profession careers) and this post explains all you need to know about this career.

How do I start this career?

You firstly need to build the town hall which is one of the goals in the Higher Education Quest. Then you will be able to select politician from the list of careers.

Once your sim is a politician you can click on the pulsing suitcase on the simtracker to send them to work once a day. During this time you won’t see them at work and you cannot go to the town hall, on the simtracker it will just say they are at work, once the time is up they will arrive back at home and be rewarded with the simoleons and XP they earned for that shift. The more they work, the higher level they will reach in that career and the more money they will earn.

You can then send your sims to work again at/after 12am as it is the start of a new day.

Still unsure? This post explains how to get a job, send your sims to work and how to quit

What hours do they work?

You can send your sims to work anytime of the day for 7 hours, once they finish their shift you will receive the simoleons and XP they have earned. When they reach a new level in that career a pop up will appear to show you how much they will earn for the next shift.

What are the levels and how much money and XP do you earn for a day at work?

 Title Simoleons Experience Points (XP)
1 Secretary 950 595
2 Intern 1,030 890
3 Campaign Manager 1,140 1,260
4 Council Member 1,170 1,530
5 Mayor 1,220 1,780

How do I find out what level my sim is on?

You can see this information in the occupations (career) tab. This tab is where you give your sims careers to begin with. Here you can see your sims career and the level they are on and if you click on the symbol of the career you will be able to see how much your sims earn and you can quit jobs from here too.

Which career earns the most money? Find out here

Can I increase my sims career level from home?

Yes you can buy mirrors from the promotions r us store or hobby and career items tab of the home store. It costs S300 for the basic mirror but you can also buy others if you have completed the live event to unlock them. Once placed in your sims house you can practice speech for 3 hours. During this time your career bar will increase like it does when they go to work (but slower) If you don’t want to buy a mirror you can also use the soap box in the park to make a speech for 12 minutes (or you can pick a longer option) this will increase it too!

The Sims Freeplay- Long Hairstyles Review

This is my review of each of the long hairstyles you can unlock from the Long Hair Event, in all these images the sim modelling has black hair but you can also get each hairstyle in brown, red and blonde.

You can find all the styles you have unlocked for free from a wardrobe, the hair salon or create a sim.

I will be rating the hairstyles from 9 to 1 with 1 being my favourite!

9. Long Cornrows– There is just something about this hairstyle that I really don’t like, I think its that there isn’t enough hair! There are a lot of empty space without any hair, the tied back cornrows I already have is so much better than this one!

20140826-121051.jpg

8. Long Straight Fringe– Now I like a good hairstyle with a fringe- this is not one of them! The fringe needs to be longer for this one to look better! (look at number 3 for a good fringe!)

20140826-121105.jpg

7. Long Straight Over Ear– I like this hairstyle, but only from the side visible in the picture! The other side is less hair more ear.

20140826-121147.jpg

6. Long Back Parted Ponytail– I like the hairband in it but I don’t like how it covers the ears with one bit of hair on each side.

20140826-121139.jpg

5. Long Double Ponytail– the word long in this hairstyles name is misleading- it’s not long but saying that I do like this one (it probably would have been nearer the top if it was longer!)

20140826-121159.jpg

4. Long Braided Ponytail– I like this one a lot! I would have just liked it to have been longer and look more like a plait in the dark colours (it looks so much better in blonde and red!)

20140826-121116.jpg

3. Long Full Fringe Ponytail– I prefer this fringe to the one in the other fringe hairstyle, it’s a nice hairstyle but the way it curves is strange!

20140826-121209.jpg

2. Long Shoulder Ponytail– It was a hard decision between this one and the one above for second place, this one was slightly ahead as the ponytail is longer, straighter and I like the extra accessories in this hair.

20140826-121215.jpg

1.Long Straight– This is my favourite one, I just wanted a simple long hairstyle and this is it! It’s similar to my actual hair, which is probably why I like it!

20140826-121221.jpg

Which one is your favourite and have you managed to unlock them all?

The Sims Freeplay- Restarting a Hobby Collection

This is the same for any hobby, firstly you need to complete the collection as you will not be able to start the collection again if you don’t have all the pieces yet.

Once you have found them all it will tell you, then you will need to go back to the blue collection screen (where you can find all the hobby collections)

You do this by clicking on the sim info panel, find the hobby tab (second one) and click on the hobby picture (on a sim who is doing this hobby)

Once opened you will see the start collection again button at the top, click that and the collection will be reset so you can find all the pieces again.

image

When you reset the hobby it doesn’t reset your level, so if you were on level 6 you will still be on level 6.
