Once the Teen Idol Quest has been complete you unlock the sim sign (located next to the estate agency in the town) you need to get it to level 3 by finding the resources to upgrade it.
THERE IS NO TIME LIMIT FOR THIS
What resources do you need?
- TV Show Cameos
- Radio Interviews
- Magazine Photoshoots
How many of each piece do you need for each level?
- Level 0= 5 of each
- Level 1= 10 of each
- Level 2= 15 of each
How do you find the pieces?
Each time you find all 3 notes for the drum kit, guitar and microphone you get a piece of each
Drumkit Notes= 1 TV Show Cameo
Guitar Notes= 1 Radio Interview
Microphone Notes= 1 Magazine Photoshoot
Make sure you restart the collection once you have found them all to find them again!
You can also get them randomly when you do actions but be prepared to spend LP or it will take you a long time to complete the sim sign without them to speed things up!
How many LPs will it cost if you decide to speed up?
- Level 0= 42 LP
- Level 1= 90 LP
- Level 2= 135 LP
Total= 267 LPs
My teens are ready to age but they haven’t completed the sign, what do I do?
Just start a new teen on this hobby and keep going to complete the sign. You can have up to 5 sims complete the hobby at the same time once it has been completed for the first time.
Once the sim sign is at level 3 it will be lit up, as shown below:
And then you can build the teen mansion on a premium residence, the first one free! After that they cost simoleons, the price varies depending on how many other houses you have but it is cheaper to build the teen mansion, than to buy an empty plot to build on (as you are paying for each floor)
What does the teen mansion look like?
THE FIRST TEEN MANSION IS FREE
If you didn’t unlock the volleyball net on the Its All Going Swimmingly Quest then don’t worry you get one in this house!
Personally I really like this house, I think it is well worth all those LPs I spent trying to complete the sign!
NOTE: teens cannot live in this house on their own even if they are the teen idol unless an adult lives there and they ask the teen to move in then you can move the adult out.
Anyone can live in this house, they don’t have to be the teen idol. It is just a normal house.

I have already done the teen idol quest, and I restarted to upgrade the sign and I cannot get the last piece of music for the electric guitar?????? I have been trying for days and it is not giving me the last piece. I have also spent 20 LPs randomly trying to get it and it wont allow me to either?! What do I do?!
You just have to keep going, there is no skill to it

Is there anything else the sign resources are used for? I’m wondering because I have already upgraded my sign to level 3 and have my teen idol mansion built, but I am still receiving resources for random actions–in fact it seems I’m randomly finding them more often than when I was trying to build the sign!!

Im starting to build the sign and i dont understand if I have to find ALL of the notes of the hobby and finish the whole collection. You said when you delete rooms you get a few million. Are you actually deleting the walls in the room or just selling the items? I’ve tried to get rid of rooms before and I can’t delete the walls, only resize the room, which is why I’m asking.
The walls, you have to start at the top floor and work down as it won’t let you delete rooms that are underneath other rooms.

My favorite way to get items for the sign is to have one of my sims repeatedly change clothes, but… I have only gotten magazine photo shoots and radio interviews – no tv cameos! I was hoping to avoid using LPs, but it looks like I’ll have to, to balance it out. Two days, and I have 8 mag, 8 radio, and only 1 TV.

I put all my sims in sleepwear, after I finished that event quest, just so I could enjoy looking at all the new stuff, and happened to notice a spotlight rising after one of them changed. Since then, I’ve been experimenting, and they get them from everything, it seems – just not very often! Lol! But I’ve gotten them from cooking, diving, figure skating, and admiring posters! 🙂
May you please help me? How do I level up “The Famous Sim Town Sign”? I’ve been trying for ages and I’m still on Level 1, and I’m WAY passed the Teen Idol/Road to Fame career/quest. I’ve got enough lights and microphones as required to level up, but I can’t seem to get the movie marker board. I’ve tried leveling up as my teen Sim plays various instruments, but it doesn’t seem to do anything anymore. Supposedly you can gain the items needed doing other tasks, besides your teen playing instruments, such as your teen using a study desks or interacting with other Sims etc, but I’m not sure. It seems like no matter how much or how many times you have your teen Sim play instruments and complete the collection to gain the resourced requirements I don’t gain anything. =[ Please help, this is driving me nuts! Thank you for your time!!
For the TV show cameo piece you need to complete the drumkit row of the collection, so you will need to complete the collection 5 more times to gain those 5 pieces

i don’t understand what you mean by millions of simoleons from deleting the rooms & pool when i only got 300k from it. i basically lost money
previously you could make so much money by deleting everything because pools were expensive, in this latest update they have made pools cheaper so this no longer works and has now been removed from the post.

Hi @girlwhogames, this was really helpful but one thing I noticed is that it’s hard to find information on how big the lots are. A lot of people say have info on the dimensions or the houses … But no info on the dimensions of the actual lot. I don’t know it just seems kind of important because you want to build on a lot that’s big enough for your design so knowing the size of the lot is really beneficial. SO I was wondering counting block by block how big with some of the lots were. I think that’d be good information to provide ! 🙂

The first teen mansion you buy should be free (or at least it was free! They may have changed this recently) after that they will cost simoleons.

Do you mean the exterior wall around the house or the exterior walls to the house?
If it is the walls around the house then that is only available on the teen mansion. If it is the walls on the house that is called Smooth Stone and it is available in the home store but I am not sure what level it unlocks at, sorry! Try going to a different house to find it as you won’t find it in the store when you are at a house that already has that walls.

It says that I can pay a number of LPs when I click on the sign varying on how much more I need to do, If I pay the LPs will it only give me one more of a certain thing or will it complete it
There are three resources and underneath each resource you have the amount you need and the LPs it will cost, the LPs it costs you is to complete one of the three resources, so you would need to use LPs on each resource if you didn’t have them all to be able to upgrade the sign.
So if for example I need to pay 30LPs to complete the magazine photoshoot, will it complete that whole magazine resource, like it will go from 5/15 to 15/15? Or will it just add 1 and just make it 6/15
I already said the LPs it costs you is to complete one of the three resources so it will go to 15/15.
