A DANCE TO REMEMBER QUEST – JUKEBOX – ADULT SIMS ONLY – PRIZES: BREAKDANCING HOBBY AND 5LP
TIME LIMITED HOBBY – TIME: 7 DAYS – TIME LIMITED PRIZE: LATIN VILLA
Once you complete the A Dance to Remember Quest the time limit for the salsa dancing hobby will start straight away, to begin this hobby you need to buy the jukebox from the promotions r us store for S5,000 and place it in one of your sims houses:
I cannot place the jukebox, it says its locked/ limited item, what do I do? You will have this problem if you try and place it from the new items tab, look in your inventory instead to be able to place the jukebox in one of your sims houses.
If you complete this hobby in the 7 day time limit you will unlock the Latin villa from the quest:

You will need two sims to complete this hobby at one time, the first sim selects wait for partner and the second sim selects one of the hobby options:
- Quick Salsa- 1 hour 30 minutes
- Extended Mambo- 7 hours 30 minutes
NOTE: you can only buy one jukebox the first time you complete this quest and 4 sims can use a jukebox at one time (2 couples) after the first time as many sims as you want can complete this hobby as you can buy as many jukeboxes as you want
After the time has passed come back and click the exclamation mark above your sims head to find one of the salsa dancing collectibles. Every time your sims complete one of the options above their salsa dancing hobby skill level up percentage will increase (it increases for both sims), once they reach 100% they will level up, there are 6 levels. You need to reach level 6 to be able to unlock all of the salsa dancing collectibles, once unlocked you will be able to find them.
The table below shows the level up percentage for each option:
This may change in future updates
| LEVEL | 1 hour 30 minutes | 7 hours 30 minutes |
|---|---|---|
| 1-2 | 48% | 188% |
| 2-3 | 36% | 141% |
| 3-4 | 24% | 94% |
| 4-5 | 12% | 47% |
| 5-6 | 9% | 37% |
NOTE: it says 188% but you will start from 0% at level 2
The next table shows you for each level what salsa dancing collectibles you unlock (so you can then find those ones too) and also the level up reward that a second and future sims will receive when they level up in this hobby:
| LEVEL | TITLE | 1st TIME LEVEL UP UNLOCKS | 2nd+ TIMES LEVEL UP REWARD |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Flailing Fiasco | Step to Step and Killer Tap are unlocked in the hobby collection | – |
| 2 | Out of Step | Side Rock Slider and Miami Ice are now unlocked in the hobby collection | 250XP |
| 3 | Wily Dancer | Hot Yogurt and Ultimate Dip are now unlocked in the hobby collection | 500XP |
| 4 | Hot Stepper | Espresso Empress and Around the World are now unlocked in the hobby collection | S750 |
| 5 | Dancing Dynamo | Dashing Desperado is now unlocked in the hobby collection | 10,000 Town Value |
| 6 | Sovereign of Salsa | Three Way Stopper, Anaconda Animal and Eduardo King are now unlocked in the hobby collection.
You can now complete the collection! |
1LP |
NOTE: only the first sims completing this hobby needs to get to level 6 to unlock all the collectibles, future sims will be able to find any collectible even if they are only on level 1 in this hobby (and they can do the shortest option to try and find the collectibles quicker!)
You won’t find a new collectible each time, you will get repeats, if this happens just keep going, you will find them eventually! If it is still taking too long you can use the lucky spin on the row where you cannot find the item, this will cost LPs, when you click on the LP button it will clear the row and give you a random collectible on that row so you aren’t guaranteed a new item (you will get back any other collectibles you already had in that row) Need to earn some LPs to use the lucky spin?
The completed salsa dancing collection is shown below, once you complete the collection you need to click ‘start a new collection’ at the top of the hobby collection screen, this clears the board so you can complete the collection again to earn more rewards (you will only get the option to restart the hobby collection when you have completed the collection):
You will earn XPs when you complete a row in the hobby but to complete the collection you need to find all 12 of the collectibles
If you complete this hobby in the time limit you will unlock the Latin Villa, the first one is free after that on a standard it costs 125SP and on a premium it costs 175SP. More information on the villa can be found in my house guide part five
You also unlock:
The latin paving for patios, balconies and pools
Latin Mosaic, Latin Concrete and Latin Shapes flooring
Latin Exterior Stucco Tile (exterior walls)
Latin Red Stucco, Latin Blue Stucco and Latin Tile Mosaic walls
The rewards for completing this collection are the breakdancing hobby and 5 LP:
- The first time you complete this collection you unlock the breakdancing hobby (even if you don’t manage to complete in the time limit) this is another time limited hobby, you need to buy the breakdancing boom box from promotions r us to begin the hobby:
- From the second time onwards each time you complete the collection you will earn 5LP

Is it only me but its like purposely not give the medals needed to complete the hobby collections. I been at it like crazy with 2 couples and still haven’t finished.
I think it does to it on purpose! Just to make you use Lps to find them all.
Mine have been dancing nonstop for 3 weeks; I still need two and no, having Sims “cheer on” doesn’t help
Just wondering if you had played around with the “Cheer On” action… I cannot get any of the final tier awards and was wondering if it helped! BTW, thanks so much for your blog!
I haven’t sorry!
You’re welcome
I’m really having trouble with this. I have a level 3 and a level 6 people dancing but I’m only earning level 1 and 2 medals
try and get the level 3 dancers to level 6, get the level 6 to wait for dance which the level 3 selects the dance option.
Is it just me or is very slow getting the levels up? I’ve had 4 sims do 3 sets of quick salsa now and they have only gone up 1% in experience 😦
try the longer option
I have some general thought son the hobbies.
1. Does it matter how full the “need meters” are on the sims when they start doing hobby tasks??
2. To get the highest medals does it matter how high lv on the hobby they have and does it matter if you choose the faster option ..example 10 min fishing or 1 day fishing..or in this case Salsa 1.5 hr or Mambo 7,5 hr??
1. Not really, I would just make sure they were happy enough not to want to leave
2. If you want to get level 6 medals you need to be on skill level 6, but the longer the option doesn’t mean the better the items you will get, it usually means you can just level up quicker so I would only use the longer options to get to the next level, then the short options to find all the medals at that level before using the longer option to level up again.
My couple both at level 6 have been sanding non stop for a week now and I still can’t get the last award
that’s unlucky
Maybe it is a new update, but when need meter is too low somewhere, they don t get the full $$ rewarded ( for example planting corn will give you s100 instead of $148).
it has always been like that, you get more money when inspired.
So I have them dancing and right before they level up the bar goes all the way back to zero. Is anyone else having this problem?
This is a glitch but it doesn’t stop you from levelling up, the hobby bar % just goes back to 0 everytime you do the hobby but if you look when you finish the hobby it will show the correct % before you start it again
I’ve noticed this in other hobbies as well. The meter on the simtracker just goes up as they do the hobby. If you have them doing it for a very long time, the meter eventually gets to one hundred percent. When you click on the exclamation point when they are finished, though, you’ll see a percentage. For ten minutes of fishing on level six, I get one percent better at it. I just had two level 2 dancers who started the level at zero percent, and then when they finished the shorter dance option, they both gained 37% or something like that. Mine is actually letting them both level up no matter who initiates the dance. I hope this makes sense!
I’m at the have two sims dance. I have them dance but do not get credit for the action.
select the 3 second option, not the 10 second one.
I was able to make three pairs dance at the same time.
But you have to try over and over again before making it happen.
Thank you for this! I still need two medals though.
I tried over and over and I couldn’t make 3 pairs do it
I have two pairs, I’ve spent at *least* 30 LPs (not sure, coz I haven’t kept very good track, and other Sims have finished hobbies a few times) speeding through Quick Salsa dances and I’m still 2 trophies away with less than a day to go. Even though I have all 4 participating sims at level 6. I’m all grumbly.
I got all my sins up to level six 3 days in, and been making them dance over and over, used around 40 LPs, since day 3 I have only needed 2 trophies but keep getting the same ones everytime. Driving me mad.
[…] breakdancing hobby unlocks when you complete the salsa dancing hobby for the first time which unlocks once a dance to remember quest has been […]
[…] That is the quest complete! Now you can do the salsa dancing hobby- complete the hobby for the first time in 7 days to unlock the villa You can buy the jukebox from the promotions r us for S5000, you can only have one in the town Is the prize worth it? I’m actually so disappointed with the rugs, after waiting forever for them to add them to the game! They are all bright patterns, which go with hardly any decors. Where are the plain rugs EA!? And they all cost SPs- what a let down. The salsa dancing hobby post can be found here […]
Thank you to whoever suggested starting the dancing couples at different times. I could not get 2 pairs of sims to dance at the same time, one pair would always just stop dancing and I would only get one trophy. Starting them 45 minutes apart worked great!
I’ve been having the same trouble. I’ll try this!
Hi
I love your updates, I’m gutted that I don’t think I’m going to get all the trophies in time. I’ve been doing the dancing with 2 pairs for short and long dances since the event opened. I’ve even used life points but it hasn’t got me anywhere ! I would love the villa, but never mind :0(
Kind regards

Thanks!
Oh that is a shame
My hobby is so glitchy, the sims gain their hobby levels spontaneously it seems…
the hobby level bar % is wrong for all hobbies at the moment
So even if you complete all the awards in the time limit, you still have to use SPs to build the villa?
yes you do
Hi, I was just wondering if you knew if the swimming pool comes with the salsa dancing house on a standard lot? Thanks for an awesome blog ☺️
no idea, I haven’t been able to build it yet as been unable to connect to the party boat to earn SPs
The villa on a premium plot is more likely to have a swimming pool though
You’re welcome!
I had two pairs dancing day and night since the quest came up but it seems you have to buy lps to finish tasks early otherwise you never make it with the time limit given…. I cannot build the villa now which really sucks. I feel like I am getting punished because I did not buy lps
I seriously hate how they do these limited time hobbies. I have things to do, I don’t have time to check my ipad every 7 hours and a half or every hour and a half. Plus I forget about it because I’m busy doing other things & then end up behind.
I don’t think the prize was worth it, lol. Not even like, 1% worth it.
I also had a problem with the % glitch going all the way back to 0% when you click on the jukebox to dance again. So I contacted firemonkeys about it. And told them how outraged I was that because of this glitch I was not able to get the house in time. They told me, “I’m sorry but because of it being a ‘timed quest’ there was nothing they could do to get anyone the house that missed out because of it.” Pardon me but that’s fricken ridiculous!
This glitch doesn’t mean you can’t level up
it shows 0% when you start the hobby again but if you look when you finish it it shows you what your % is.
I understand what you are trying to say, but it did not level any of my dancers up until I had them start doing the extended mambo. That’s when the whole % bar would fill up and finally level them up. Just too bad I didn’t figure that out until it was too late!
How can I get started if I clicked “not now ” for accident?
buy the jukebox and start the hobby.
I worked so hard to unlock the Villa (I used so many LP’s) and now I’m really disappointed that the Latin Villa costs so much! It’s so difficult to get SP’s! But thank you for taking the time out to do these posts! I really appreciate it 🙂
Roughly how many lps did you spend for this?
more than I would have liked! Probably about 50
So upset I didn’t make it. I spent a ton of LP and only needed one more medal! No villa for me 😦 The time limits in these quests are ridonculous.
What do i get if i dont complete all the salsa dancing moves in time?
Thank you.
you don’t unlock the villa but you still unlock breakdancing when you complete the hobby.
Thanks for the post! I just finished and am moving onto the breakdancing quest. (I needed one last trophy, rolled the dice, and got it – Yahoo!)
For anyone just starting, I strongly recommend you do long dances with two couples until they’re fully leveled up and only then start short dances to get the trophies. Doing otherwise is inefficient as so many trophies require a higher level.
The trick to this one is consistency: Always start with the same sims and always join with the same sims. This way the second sim is going to level up (the first one doesn’t get any exp) and you’ll be able to get the L6 trophies. You waste time trying to get both sims in both couples to level up. I made it though to the end without spending any LP.
And for quests like this (or hobbies), it’s OK to do the long training when you’re going to sleep, work, school, etc, but the shorter sessions always train up quicker. The entire game is like this. They don’t want you to set something and go away. They want you to keep playing constantly, and the reward is more exp. Each of us needs to balance that with real life – the less we play the less exp we get.
the shorter sessions don’t always level you up quicker.
How do u get enough SP for the villa?
by completing social tasks in neighbour towns
Is it possible to ever get the Villa again if you don’t complete the task in time?
No, sorry
First, thanks for the helpful info u give. I unfortunately did not read ahead and after “a dance to remember” quest, chose ‘not now’ on the following quest for the villa. through your post I see that I only have 7 days to finish this quest to get the villa, but can’t seem to figure out how to make it come back up as an offered quest. Any suggestions?
you need to buy the jukebox and just start the hobby
This is a hard quest. I have been working on this awhile and am still missing 2 trophies. I’m past the time limit which is ok since I don’t want the villa anyway but I’m just trying to finish up the collection. Is the breakdancing quest just as difficult?
it isn’t a quest, its a hobby, they aren’t really difficult they can just take a long time but the breakdancing prize isn’t worth it either
They make the time limits so unrealistic! I spent all of my lps on this and didn’t even get past the first row. It’s so dumb -.-
Hie, I always follow ur blog to play this game ! Btw.. I am on the verge to complete a dance to remember quest !!! Btw when will I get the spinning lamp ? After this quest ?? Or after I complete the salsa hobby ?. Please reply me !! Cox I really do want to own those colourful lights !!
After you complete the breakdancing hobby you unlock the lights.
Just wanted to tell you that your blog is super helpful so thanks for taking the time to write up everything! Also, I believe with the new update, both sims have their skills level up together while they are salsa dancing and not just one anymore.
I failed this quest because the game kept on giving me the same medals. 😦 How can I restart this quest? I really want that villa! 😦
you can’t sorry.
Just wanted to drop a note to thank you for your blog. It’s been very helpful in my decision making in Sims FreePlay
You’re welcome! I’m glad it helps
very helpful thanks
You’re welcome!
I have completed the Dance to Remember Quest and the Car at the park is still there. Will it stay there?
Yes it will
I have been stuck on this quest for AGES now and that’s because I stupidly sent my sims home. So, now I don’t know where the house is and I need to click on the jukebox in the house. Any advice?
There is a car at the park that takes your sim to the villa
Thanks so much! All your blogs have been so much help to me.
You’re welcome!
I’m about to give this hobby a go, however, I don’t yet own Promotions R Us, will I still have access to the Salsa house to do this? Or do I need to own my own jukebox? Thank!
If you can still see the car to the villa at the park then yes you can do the hobby at the villa but if it isn’t there you still might be able to buy the jukebox without the promotions r us, go into buy mode at a house and under featured the jukebox may be there, if not you will have to build the store to buy it.
Got it, I’ll try those options, thanks!
You’re welcome!
Do you level up by using the “wait for dance partner” option? ie your dancer’s partner is at work but you’d like to increase your level..?
No you don’t
Great post. About the random distribution of medals and paying LP to get a medal: if you have your sims “quick salsa,” it only costs 1 LP to rush the action and you still get a randomly assigned medal. Much cheaper than paying 3+ LP to get a medal.
[…] Horse Tricks, Vaulting, Showjumping, Woodworking, Juggling, Spell Casting, Broomstick Flying, Salsa Dancing, Breakdancing, Surfing, Catwalk Model, Bowling, Dog […]
I have 3 days left to unlock the Latin Villa and I really want it for my two Mexican sims, and they are both level 5 on salsa dancing, but they just keep on getting the beginner medals! So annoying. Any advice on getting the higher level medals? I used 5 lps so far to unlock one trophy in the third set, but I don’t want to keep on using lps.
you need to do the longest option to get them to level 6 then do the shortest option to find all the trophies as quickly as possible
Hi @weightlessmagic and Hi to everyone else 🙂 thanks for the blog as I D/L this game a while back but didn’t play it as I didn’t understand all the quest etc. A few months later I found your blog and re-started the game and have followed your blog. I am now on L15 and about to finish the toddler quest and have most things like the Horse and the dog etc. I have just unlocked the 7 day Latin villa but after reading this I may not even waste my time as I spent 7 days just trying to get some weave (long hairs sims) and I didn’t even get 1!!!!!
I do like the game but as everyone says….The time limits take the biscuit!!!
🙂
I just noticed both of my Sims are gaining Salsa dancing levels at the same time now!
That’s good!
Hi weightlessmagic
Tnx 4 this wonderful blog…it helps me a lot.
Since my daughter told me I will get whole villa for free if I complete dancing hobby, I came on net to check (shes only 12) and found this blog. But after reading all those bad experience I realize I wont waste time for dancing hobby at all.
Somewhere in reading I notice that you also (like me) having problem connecting on party boat. Also, from daughter I have info that only party boat works from Apple gadgets if you are in Serbia. We are playing from andriod phones. Do you know something about that.
Regards
Ljuba
You’re welcome!
It is a difficult hobby to complete in the time limit, they don’t make it easy to find the pieces at all!
Sorry I don’t know anything about that, usually the party boat finds your neighbours from your facebook on android (I don’t know if this works in Serbia though) apple devices also have game center but android your only option to find neighbours is through facebook
Thank you so much i could not find the jukebox in my Sims freeplay this really helped, Thanks! 🙂
you’re welcome!
Hey,I’m trying to add neighbours but I can’t 😦 can you help me? How can I add neighbours?
Please let me know as soon as possible! 🙂
This post may help: https://thegirlwhogames.wordpress.com/2014/09/23/the-sims-freeplay-adding-neighbours/
So if quest out of limits what we get? Still same?
you don’t unlock the villa but you still unlock the breakdancing hobby.
Do i need to buy a jukebox to begin the quest? Because after i completed the salsa dance quest i click the yes button once the salsa hobby quest pops and now i cant see it on my task bar!!! Pls help me
Yes you need to buy a jukebox to start this hobby, it isn’t a quest so it doesn’t appear in the goal tab.
Can we please ask EA to get the quest back? I was unable to complete it then and I really want the villa. And ever since, I’ve been unable to find the last piece. What do I do?
sorry if you didn’t complete in the time limit you won’t be able to get the villa
And you will just have to keep going until you find the last piece, there is no skill to it
