This page contains links to all the main/progression, feature and discovery quests in The Sims Freeplay

MAIN/ PROGRESSION QUESTS

Main/Progression Quests have to be completed in the order they appear on this page, even if you are on a high enough level to unlock another one, the previous quest has to be completed first.

FEATURE QUESTS

Feature Quests unlock and introduce a new feature, they are shorter than main or discovery quests and there is no time limit or time limited prize available. It costs simoleons to start these quests (cost varies depending on your level) You cannot complete a feature quest if you are currently completing a discovery quest or another feature quest
  • Cars In Lots– unlocks the ability to add cars anywhere on your house lot, find Lee the mechanic at the nightclub to begin (level 26)
  • L-Shaped Rooms– unlocks the ability to build l-shaped rooms, find Lee the mechanic at the nightclub to begin (level 26)

DISCOVERY QUESTS

Discovery Quests can be completed in any order (although some will only appear once a previous discovery quest has been completed) but you can only complete one discovery quest at a time. You cannot complete a discovery quest if you are currently completing a feature quest
  • Love and Treasure– unlocks the private island house lot, build the private island to begin (level 7)
  • A Bump-y Ride- unlocks pregnancy, build the maternity store to begin (level 8)
  • Book Of Spells– unlocks spell casting hobby, build the sorcerous supplies to begin (level 8)
  • Saved by the Spell– complete the book of spells quest and find the wizard in the park to begin (level 8)
  • A Dance To Remember– unlocks salsa dancing hobby, click on the dancers next to the thinking man statue in the park to begin (level 9)
  • The Grooving Guru– unlocks the aerobics hobby, build the health hub to begin (level 9)
  • Nanny Knows Best-  unlocks new baby interactions, find the nanny in the park to begin *this quest requires a baby sim* (level 10)
  • Back to the Wall– unlocks feature walls, talk to Summer in the park to begin (level 10)
  • Vacationers Guide to the Outdoors- unlocks the campgrounds content, build the campgrounds to begin (level 11)
  • Extreme Home Takeover– unlocks the ability to submit your houses for other players to build, talk to the realtor in the park to begin (level 11)
  • A Puppy Odyssey – unlocks puppies and kittens, find the puppy in the park to begin (level 11)
  • The Sunset Mall– unlocks mall content, build the mall to begin (level 12)
  • Pretty Little Planters– unlocks a second floor to the mall, build the escalator at the mall to begin (level 13)
  • Super Toddler Secret Mission- unlocks the finger painting hobby, find the super hero toddler at the stables to begin *this quest requires a toddler sim* (level 13)
  • Strange Things In Simtown– unlocks super villain outfits for your toddlers, find the super villain at the park once you have completed the super toddler secret mission quest *this quest requires a toddler sim* (level 13)
  • Royal Lineage– unlocks the castle, build the castle on the mysterious island to begin (level 14)
  • Simtown Express – unlocks the downtown area and hospital profession workplace, build the simtown express to begin once you have completed the mysterious island quest (level 15)
  • Sims and the City– unlocks penthouse apartment templates in downtown, talk to the director sim in the park once you have completed the simtown express quest (level 15)
  • Teacher’s Pet– unlocks the Downtown High School, build the school in downtown once you have completed the simtown express quest to begin (level 15)
  • DIY Homes: Peaceful Patios– unlocks patios, find the woman wearing the hard hat in the park (Bree) to begin (level 15)
  • DIY Homes: Lovey Dovey Balcony– unlocks balconies, find Bree in the park again once you have completed the multi story renovations quest (level 17)
  • DIY Homes: Basement of Kings– unlocks basements, find Bree in the park again once you have completed the lovey-dovey balcony quest (level 17)
  • DIY Homes: All Mezzed Up– unlocks mezzanine floors (indoor balconies), find Bree in the park again once you have completed the basements of kings quest (level 17)

Frequently Asked Questions about Quests

I didn’t complete in the time limit, can I restart the quest?
No, you cannot redo quests

Can I still get the prize if I don’t complete a quest in the time limit?
No, the only way to get the limited time prizes is by completing the quest in the time limit

I don’t like this quest! Can I just skip it?
No, you have to complete this quest before you can move onto the next one

What do you mean when you say a goal can be started early?
Any goal that you can normally do can be started early because you will have access to it and any goal that you can’t normally do you will have to wait until you get the goal to be able to complete it
The tip with this method is to put the sim doing that action early in a different house that you cannot go to until you get that goal or it will not work

Some times are slightly different on my game, why is this?
Times may vary depending on the star rating of the item you are using as the higher star rating an item has the quicker you will complete a goal

Some times are really off/ different goals show for me, why is this?
This will be because the quest has been updated recently, I try my best to keep the posts up to date but it is difficult as I cannot redo every quest each time the game is updated. If you notice any changes please let me know so I can update the post

Main Quests

I have missed a main quest! Why can’t I start it yet?
You cannot miss main quests they have to be completed in the order they appear in this post

Can I complete a main quest even though I am passed the level it unlocks at?
Yes, it will start automatically once previous quests have been completed

What happens if I don’t complete in the time limit, can I still finish a main quest?
Yes you have to finish it before you can move onto the next quest

Discovery Quests

Can I do discovery quests at the same time as a main quest?
Yes you can

Why can’t I do a discovery quest yet?
You cannot do more than one discovery quest at the same time, if you are currently on another one you will not be able to do this one until that one is completed

Do I have to do a discovery quest?
If you don’t start a discovery quest you don’t have to do it at all but if you have already started it you need to complete it before you can move on to the next quest

I haven’t started a discovery quest yet, will it still be available when I want to do it?
Yes it will be, you can choose to start discovery quests whenever you like, there is no rush!

    I recently started playing this game and I find your posts very helpful, thanks for sharing! I failed the Long hair quest, and then the Baby stuff quest, so I restarted the game hoping I would get another chance at the quests, only to find the quests are not available anymore. Is there a chance that maybe someday I could get the long hair without having to pay 3.99 for each hair style?

  2. Is there a way to not start a quest? As soon as I finish one I am thrown straight into the next one. I’ve been playing for 3 weeks almost continually and I need a break but I don’t want to miss unlocking everything. I want my sims to have time to play with me, not garden constantly!
    I love your site here. It’s helped me a whole lot, thanks!

    • They quests start automatically if you are on or past the level but if a quest doesn’t have a time limit you don’t get a prize for completing in time so you could just leave it on that quest for a while 🙂

      • Thanks for your response. I’m on the “going swimingly” quest and realized it ain’t happen! So I’m just going to take my time on it. Really wish they didn’t force you into the next quest though. Thanks again!

  3. I’m levelling up much faster than I am completing the quests, is that something to be worry about. There are only 55 levels.

  4. I am on level 41 but only have the riches of terra at level 11. When will the next riches of open for me?

    • they should have all opened by now, I don’t know why they haven’t but a few people have told me about this problem so maybe you should contact EA to see if they can fix it!

  5. I have a social quest that states my sim must reach nirvana state in a neighbor’s park. Is this the same as doing tai chi in the park?

  6. I’ve gone over all of the quest tips but didn’t see Take a photo of a Cat. I took the picture but I have no idea how to send it to the lab. Help!

  7. You are doing an amazing job with this blog of yours! It has so much information and a lot of usefull details, I was so happy when I stumbled upon it one day when I was googling someting about the game. It helped me eversince, whenever I have something a bit unclear I usually find it here. Anyway I wanted to also mention it’s the lotus plant not locus plant, must be a mistype I think I’ve seen it in another post also. You said completing multi story renovations lets you build second and third level floors, I’m a bit puzzeled about this as I’ve seen some of my neighboors having a lot more levels in their houses, maybe 6 or 7…So is that a cheat or what?

      Sorry it has been changed now! I think my iPad auto corrected it!
      Yeah that is a cheat, you can only have 3 floors in total- and cheating messes up your game so I wouldn’t recommend it!

  13. I’m unable to complete practice auctioneering using a neighbours auction podium for a long time now. Im in Lvl 18. Please HELP as this is becoming very annoying as I am unable to find the podium in the neighbourhood despite several trial attempts.

  14. Hello. I noticed someone said they were leveling up faster than making it through the quests. My problem is the opposite. I’m getting through the quests quicker than leveling. Wouldn’t getting through the quests (amount of XPs for each quest) equal leveling up at the same time? Just trying to figure why I always have 2 activities left to fulfill before next level. Thanks for any answers😊.

    • No, not necessarily, to level up you need to do things such as: complete goals, plant, bake, do hobbies and go to work. Just completing quest goals won’t level you up that quickly

      Shake hands with the dog- 4 seconds
      Make a dog dig for treasure
      Buy a toilet (S50)
      Use a toilet- 7 seconds
      Wash hands in sink- 7 seconds
      Grow some bell peppers- 30 seconds (buy garden plot S20)
      Buy a stereo (S300)
      Add a sim (second house free- 5 minutes)
      Spend S600 on walls and floors
      Choose a fridge (S100)
      Choose a shower (S100/S1000)
      Choose a lounge (S350/S500)
      Choose a TV (S50)
      Add or expand a room
      Choose a bed (S600/S1400)
      Use simtracker
      Make a sim be funny- 10 seconds
      Get 2 sims acquainted- 1 minute

      • Hey i have a problem, ive completed all these tasks but i keep getting new ones for the tutorial like expanding a swimming pool and spending 4000 bucks on trees and plants :/ is this normal? Will it ever end? XD

      • These aren’t tutorial ones, they are weekly goals, those ones will not end, they are constant tasks, if you complete a certain amount in a week you get a key, when you get 1,3,5 or 10 keys you can unlock prizes

      • I never get any of the quests anymore. I completed the life dreams quest and now every time they update it like with the thanksgiving quest i never seem to get them, is that normal?

      • Yes I have updated it to the most recent one, the christmas update. I was also wondering if its possible to email like the sims freeplay people? Because on the website you can only search for answers and i don’t know how to ask them a question. Thanks for your help

  19. Think you said that the players that have much more than 3 floors, some have balconies, is a cheat. But will it mess up MY game if I visit to their neighborhood?

    Also how is it possible that some people have placed objects outside of the grid? They also have glass houses?

  21. Hi! I’m loving all of the useful information here so thank you! I was wondering if you had any info on the book of Spells quest? It opened when I built the sorcery store ( can’t recall name ATM). First move was buy a crystal ball, place it in a house and now I’m at “look into crystal ball”. I was just wondering what happens at the end of this quest. Thanks for any info you have! (I am only on level 9 if that helps. Have only been playing for 2 days😜).

  22. Hi, I don’t want to lose my sims, so I don’t wanna complete the Life Dreams and Legacy quest. So far it’s the final quest, right? But what if they update the game and new quests are available, will it be possible for me to just skip this quest? Thanks and I really like your blog.

    I have been taking long on a task, because I wasn`t bothered to do it. After about a week I got 5lps for the task. I`m not going to spent tchem on the task though. This is a good way actually to get lps if you don`t have any. Hope this might help someone 🙂

  26. Hiii there okay so the thing is that, I used to play a long time ago back in 2011 and then I had stopped, for like, umm… ’till around June of this year. I went this October on vacation to the Netherlands and the thing is that for about two weeks and when I came back I wanted to start playing again but I couldn’t get into the game. It would just shut down or close itself. So now I had installed it again. It’s obvious that I lost everything on my previous game but the thing is that I started playing again today and and I didn’t get a dog. And I don’t understand why do you have an Idea why? I mean , like in the beginning of the game when you get a dog I didn’t.

    • I have no idea, other people have told me they didn’t received a dog also when they start but every game I have started I have got a dog and the dog is needed for the first 2 tutorial goals.
      Did you get a goal to shake hands with a dog when you started?

      • I also didn’t get a dog to start (level 16 now and still no dog) :-/. I just wanted to comment in case it helps someone out. I found a dog at a neigh it’s place and did the tutorial goals that way. Most any neighbor you get should have one and in my experience it counted the same as having your own. Good luck!

  31. Hey i was wondering whether i should ask but you seem to answer everyone else so here goes, i am stuck on 2 goals can you help? The1st, which is a weekly goal says ‘have a toddler play with building blocks’ and
    The 2nd (a social goal) says ‘Practice playing soccar in a neighbour s town’ how do I do both of these xx hope you can help. Thanks xxxxx

    • In the toddler section you will find building blocks, place them in the house and get a toddler to use them, they cost LPs so it is probably cheaper to just skip the goal.
      Do you have neighbours? If you do you need to look around their houses for a soccer ball on a green mat then select the option to use it, if you don’t have a neighbour with this you can add someone who does or skip it with Lps.

  40. Hi I’m on level 34, stopped playing for while. Now that I back playing I see all the new quest, just finished the In Da house quest and I did not get the unicorn rocking horse, because I’m on level 34, does this mean I will not receive any of the rewards from the further quest?

    • You didn’t get the rocking horse probably because you didn’t complete the quest in time, you will receive the rewards if you complete the quests in the time limit.

  41. You mentioned elsewhere that you can have sims doing multiple tasks by multiple sims of course to complete upcoming goals in a quest. For example while on sim is in a deep sleep the next goal might be make brownies…I assume you just have to time them correctly so that way when one task is finished the other sims will finish the next task in “less time” than it would have taken had I waited until the previous task is completed. Long story short I typically just have one sim complete a quest and obv this means the timed goals are rarely made by myself. I’d love to have multiple sims working on stuff as I follow along to your step by step guides which are awesome by the way!

    I hope that makes sense. Can you expand on how that works exactly and how it helps you complete quests faster?

    • For example, if your goals were:
      Talk to a tree- 1 day
      Bake banana bread- 20 hours
      When you put on your sim to do the task talk to a tree (this would be a task you couldn’t do early so need to do at time you get the goal)
      At the same time you have looked at the list and seen the next goal is bake banana bread, you can put this task on at the same time because it is a goal you can do normally (any goal you can normally do can be started early) but you need to put it on at a different house, and stay away from that house until you get the goal.
      Once the tree goal has been completed you can then go straight to the banana bread and you have saved yourself 20hours on the quest, I hope this makes sense!

  47. I’m on level 27 and haven’t seen anything regarding the cooking hobby. How do I start the cooking hobby?

    • You need to complete the cooking quest first, have a look in your quest queue for the bread winner quest, it should be there, you need to complete the quest you are on before you can do another quest.

  48. Hi thanks for all the tips and hints. Just wondered what the point of the ancient goddess monument is – know you have to trade with the pirate to get jewels but don’t see the point in getting ‘hobby bonuses’, whatever they count for? When you click on the monument it says to level to top to get a regular supply of LP – any idea how this works? This monument seems like just a way of slowing down people levelling up the other monuments to me…. Towards the super volcano thingy…
    Anyway, would appreciate your thoughts.

      I will be honest with you, I haven’t upgraded it at all, it should increase your hobby level so if you usually get 6% you might get 2% more or something like that
      I don’t know how the supply of LPs works though, sorry!

  49. when I was doing the Xmas mishap quest, a wumple came to my house, and now it staying in front of my door. I can’t access everything in my kitchen, how do I move the wumple?
