Starts 5th August 2021
Complete this brand new live event (starts 5th August 2021) to unlock Japanese and zen themed items and if you complete the whole event in the time limit you unlock the Zen Den house template. This event is only here for 10 days and the aim of it is to collect enough arts and crafts items from the arts and crafts stations (found in the event tab of buy mode) to unlock all the items in this event.
NOTE: if you did another Live Event then you will find your arts and crafts stations in your inventory (or in the house you left them at) you will only be able to use the candle ones until you unlock the other stations in this event
Can’t find your arts and crafts stations?Click on the craft station in your event tab to get the option to find your station, it will take you to the house where your stations can be found!
Place a crafting station (find the candle station in the events tab of buy mode (or your inventory)- you can only buy 4)
Make some arts and crafts items (click on the candle station to make)- 23 seconds
This takes you to the prize progress tab (you can get to it by clicking on the button in the corner of the screen)
Here you will see you have collected enough items to unlock the Timber Panel Flooring pack. When you unlock each pack, before the items are available in your home store you need to purchase them with the arts and crafts items you make- this goal is coming up!
Restock a crafting station (when the stock runs out you will have to restock before you can make anymore arts and crafts items)- You can restock instantly for 18 uses for 10SP or restock for 2 uses which will take 10 seconds this time
Buy the Timber Panel Flooring pack (click on the event button, scroll down and click purchase- this will cost you 50 candles)
Use a coin flower patch (buy the coin flower patch from the event tab and select the spin plant option)
Check the daily goals (click on the event button and find the daily goals tab- claim the ones you can!)
Remember to claim your rewards each day!
Collect bonuses (while collecting after a certain amount of time you will see the arts and crafts item appear above that sims head, click to collect the bonus item!)
Continue collecting arts and crafts items- this is the last step but the event is not over, keep collecting the arts and crafts to unlock everything!
If you want to speed up a collecting arts and crafts action it will cost you SP, you will get the bonus arts and craft items as well if you speed it up!

This template can be found under the driveway homes tab and built on a standard or premium residence, the first one is free then they cost simoleons depending on how many houses you have already built. You can add up to 4 cars on a driveway homes lot!
The other three car parking spaces need to be unlocked by purchasing with simoleons:
Additional Space One: S250,000
Additional Space Two: S750,000
Additional Space Three: S1,500,000
Once you purchase an additional space you will be able to add another car but you need to have more than one adult/senior sim living in this house to add more than one car otherwise it will just switch their car to the new one you have just brought. For example if you wanted 3 cars in this house you need 3 adult or senior sims living in this house.
The house is the same on a standard and a premium residence, but the premium residence has a really lovely calming garden:
Living Room Section: White Wabi-Sabi Corner (S220,000) Ottoman (S140,500) Single (S150,000) and Gray Wabi-Sabi Corner (22LP) Ottoman (14LP) Single (16SP)

Constructor Coins
You earn constructor coins by:
Personal Progress prizes
Completing Daily Goals
Coin Plant Patches
Earning Constructor Coins? Previously on these events I used social points on the Mega Spin Plant to win constructor points. I earn social points by completing the cooking hobby and earning LP, I can then turn the LP into SP using the social point plant on a normal garden patch- this was when it cost 5LP- the social point plant now costs 20LP so you may want to try the option below first instead:
Or you can use 450 candles for the Spin Plant (a good way to use up any spare candles) which will also earn you constructor coins but the amounts are less than they are from the Mega Spin Plant
What is the minimum and maximum amount of coins you can earn on the mega spin plant? The minimum is 10 and the maximum is 500
Now on the coin flower patch you can see the chances of getting the different combinations on each spin plant, click on the green i button to see:
Laura Craft? You may have noticed at the front of one of your houses there is a board with a bubble of a person holding arts and crafts items above it, this is Laura Craft, you can buy her for real money to help you complete the event. When you buy her, you select the item you want her to make from the options: 200 candles, 300 pottery, 450 jewelry or 500 glassware (the amounts seem to differ for most of you and I have no idea why that is!) (you will unlock all the options once you have unlocked all the stations) and you will be able to collect them after 2 hours.
Do I think she is worth it? They have improved Laura Craft a lot since the first event (although it would be great if she made constructor coins) she used to be able to collect every 8 hours, they have now changed this to 2 hours so she is more useful now so if you are struggling then you may want to splash out and give her a try but remember you will only get her for this event, you will have to buy her again to use her for a live event in the future. I personally don’t ever buy her, if I don’t manage to earn enough items or coins in the time limit I just wait until the next time the event is available!
If I brought Laura Craft in the last event do I get her for free or do I have to buy her again? You have to buy her again for this event.
Once the event is over it will convert your unused resources into simoleons, the conversion rate is half the amount of resources, for example, if you have 10,000 candles left over you will earn 5,000 simoleons, if you only have 1 of a resource left over you will only earn 1 simoleon. When a new live event becomes available you start from 0 resources
If I don’t complete this event this time will I have to start from the beginning when it returns? No, you will start from where you got to this time!

The Simdex helps you see your progress in The Sims Freeplay and progress earns us prizes! In this post I will explain how this new feature works.
You will see 3 tabs when you click on the clipboard (quest tasks):
1.Quest Tasks- this is the same as it was before, it shows you all the quests and tasks currently available to complete (previously called Active Tasks)
2.Progress- this shows your progress in the game, it shows you a percentage bar next to each topic:
Quests- how many main, discovery and feature quests you have completed [TOTAL: 51]
Professions- how many professions you have completed (reached the highest level in the Police, Filmmaker, Medical Staff and Health Spa professions) [TOTAL: 4]
Hobbies- how many hobbies you have completed (complete the hobby collection NOTE: for ballet and karate you need to get a sim to level 6 to complete this as there isn’t a hobby collection) this does not include the chocolatier or ice sculpture hobbies [TOTAL: 46]
Monuments- how many of the Mysterious Island Monuments and Sim Town Sign you have completed [TOTAL: 6]
House Lots- how may house lots you have built [TOTAL: 37] The points will stay on 0/15,000 until you get to over 50% and then you will earn 4,000/15,000 points:

You get more points for completing Downtown Developer, Sim Springs and Super Yacht Events and Midtown Cafe but these don’t show on the Simdex progress screen
3.Simdex- this shows you in detail what unlocks at each level of the game so you can easily see what is left for you to complete:
NOTE: live events, seasonal quests, simchase and influence island events won’t appear in your simdex as they are only available for a limited time
Each time you complete something the game that adds to your progress you will earn progress points which unlock prizes! Click on the prize button at the top of the progress or simdex tabs to see all the progression prizes available and how many points you need to unlock them:
You won’t miss out if you are on a higher level in the game, progress points have already been credited for progress you have already completed before this update so you should see the claim option straight after updating:
Below I have listed a basic version of the Simdex you will see in the game.
Items in brackets are unlocked by completing the previous item on that line and the > means you need to complete the previous item listed before you can start that one but if you get stuck once you have updated your game you can click on any item in the Simdex and it will explain how to complete it

26.Secret Garden- you can only claim this pack if you have purchased all the other packs in this live event
This house can be found under the driveway homes tab and built on a standard or premium residence, the first one is free then they cost simoleons depending on how many houses you have already built. You can add up to 4 cars to this house lot!
The main difference between the standard and the premium residence is the garden, it is bigger on the premium and contains more of the live event items
The only difference inside the house is the wall colour in two of the rooms is different- I have no idea why!
You also unlock:
Patio and Balcony Paving Section: Pale (S1,400) and Dark (S1,450) Brown Cobbles (both the patio and balcony paving is the same)
Fences Section: White (S96,000) and Oak (9LP) Garden Gates
Outdoor Furniture Section: White (S875,000) and Oak (68LP) Floral Gazebos
Windows Section: Classic White (S86,000) White Ivy (S92,000) Tall White Ivy (S120,000) Classic Oak (4SP) Oak Ivy (9LP) and Tall Oak Ivy (6SP)
Sims can select wait for partner on the gazebo and then select receive ring (this doesn’t make them engaged or married) slow dance, plan future together and dance all night

Early Access to Beta Provided by EA/ Firemonkeys (Presented by EA GameChangers)
Sim Springs is a new location event (available from 15th June with the Coastal Living update) the aim of this event is to complete daily tasks to renovate house lots in the new neighbourhood. There is no rush to begin this, it will be available in the future when you are ready to start.
In this post I will explain the first neighbourhood Sandy Suburbs, this is the only one currently available but there are plans to add new neighbourhoods in future updates.
GLITCH: there are so many glitches in this update including the game crashing when you try to visit another Sandy Suburbs lot, most players are having this issue and the makers are working on a fix.
Click on the links above to see the daily tasks and prizes for that lot
3 of the lots are house lots and the final lot, Wellspring Library is a community lot which once unlocked can still be customised like a normal house lot but your sims cannot live in them. You will also be able to place any item from the living room section of buy mode in the community lot for free!
The lots need to be renovated in the order listed above, you cannot do up more than one lot at a time and the next won’t unlock until the previous one has been completed. The time limit to complete a house is 10 days (14 days for community lot) with tasks to complete each day in Sim Springs, similar to Downtown Developer Events if you don’t complete in the time limit you will have to pay to be able to move on but there are prizes available, the grand prize contains a house template that can be placed in Sim Springs or Simtown.
Once you are at level 20 or above you will be able to find the bus stop near the Science Lab in Simtown, click on this to go to Sim Springs:
When you first visit you will see this pop up:
Click start and a tutorial will begin:
Visit the Sim Springs home lot (click on the pulsing house in Sim Springs)
Talk to Johnny Zest- 30 seconds (he will be at this house lot, bring a sim here to talk to him)
Listen to Johnny Zest’s plan- 30 seconds
Agree to Johnny Zest’s scheme- 30 seconds
View Sandy Suburbs (tap on the button the town navigation menu to see all of Sandy Suburbs in Sim Springs):
View the neighbourhood overview (click on the button in the top left corner):
This screen shows you all the lots and your progress in completing them
Go to Tumbleweed Terrace (this is the house lot we were first at, click on the go to button on the neighbourhood overview):
Tumbleweed Terrace is the first house lot we will need to do up in this event
View the renovation plan (click on the button in the top left corner):
The second tab is the renovation plan and it shows the tasks you need to complete and the prizes available for completing
View daily tasks (click on the button in the top left corner and scroll down to view the tasks):
Your aim is to complete the daily tasks in 24 hours, keep reading to see all the daily tasks
View development deadlines
There are padlocks separating:
Day 1 and 2 (meaning you have 48 hours to complete all tasks)
Day 3, 4 and 5 (meaning you have 72 hours to complete all tasks)
Day 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 (complete all tasks within 5 days)
If you don’t complete a section in time you will have to purchase a ‘deadline extension’ which means you will have to pay to be able to progress, the more days you are behind the more expensive it will be to progress but the timer doesn’t restart until you have purchased to move on. This is very similar to how the Downtown Developer Events work:
View the Zest Zone:
For Day 8, 9 and 10 it works a little different, if you complete each of these days tasks within 24 hours you will earn an extra prize once you complete the event:
The Zest Zone differs for each house lot:
Tumbleweed Terrace- Day’s 8, 9 and 10
Dusty Dwelling- Day’s 7, 8, 9 and 10
Arid Apartments- Day’s 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10
Wellspring Library- Day’s 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14
View leftover tasks:
Each set of daily tasks has a 24 hour timer (you have 24 hours to complete them) If you don’t manage to complete all tasks for one day these will still be available for you to complete the next day as ‘leftover tasks’ these can be found below your daily tasks and must be completed before you can progress past the deadline. For example, if you fall behind on day 1 you will see day 2 tasks as your daily tasks and the tasks left from day 1 as leftover tasks, if you complete all of day 2 tasks but leave the day 1 tasks you will not be able to progress but if you complete all the leftover tasks and daily tasks before that 24 hours is up you will be able to progress to day 3 without paying for a deadline extension:
Start the renovation plan- 30 seconds (click on Johnny Zest)
Once you have completed Start the Renovation Plan task the 24 hour timer for day 1 will begin
Start a task at Tumbleweed Terrace (start your daily tasks)
Daily Tasks
Daily tasks must be completed at Sim Springs
You can only complete one task at a time, unless it is a build task (buy items etc) then you can complete at the same time as another task
You can complete these tasks in any order
The tasks you need to complete will have the Sim Springs symbol on them:
More than one sim can be used for tasks that require multiple sims
You will need to buy some items such as trees, couches and computers to be able to complete tasks in Sandy Suburbs, if you have a 3 star item at a house in Simtown you can store it in your inventory and place it in Sandy Suburbs rather than buying a new one
Trash cannot be removed until you get the task to remove it
If you skip using SP on tasks that require you to clear up items it will remove those items
For tasks that require you to find items in objects if you use social points to quick complete you can find more
For tasks that require you to spend money you can buy items and then store them, this still counts TIP: I would save building rooms/ basements etc and placing flooring and wallpaper for when you need to spend money
For tasks that require you to place a certain number of items, if you store one of those items already in the house you will need to buy or replace it. For example, if you need to buy 6 windows and there are 3 there already but you store them all you will need to buy 6 windows rather than buying 3 more
Investment tasks are like mastery classes in SimChase, the more you spend, the less time it takes to complete TIP: check how much it would cost to skip with SP it may be cheaper or the same cost as the investment without the wait time
The lower the star rating, the longer a task will take to complete, I have included this in the tables below
You are aiming to complete the daily tasks within 24 hours, if you take too long you will have to pay to move on
For tasks that require more than 10 sims to complete at once you can spread them out throughout the houses you have unlocked in Sandy Suburbs, for example at Dusty Dwelling you need to Eat 15 Handfuls of Comfort Food from a fridge so you can have 10 sims in Dusty Dwelling and the other 5 in Tumbleweed Terrace

If you complete day’s 8, 9 and 10 (each within 24 hours) you will unlock the Extra Zesty Prizes which contains 2 tops for male adults sims and 1 Mystery Key:
Once you have completed the whole 10 day event you will unlock the Tumbleweed Terrace House Template which can be placed in Simtown or Sim Springs. You don’t have to complete this event in the time limit to unlock this house. This house template is available on a standard and a premium residence under the driveway homes tab (if you build it on the Tumbleweed Terrace lot in Sim Springs you will be building the standard as that lot is 18×18) the first one is free, after this it will cost simoleons depending on how many houses you have already built:
The only difference between the standard and the premium residence is the pool on the premium:
I personally think after the amount of money spent during the event you probably have already created a house that is much better than this one but you will unlock this house template even if you don’t complete in the time limit so it is probably designed more for players who don’t like building.
Do I have to use the House Templates given during the event? No, you can keep the house you have been creating during the event but there is always the option to demolish that house and replace it with the template
You also unlock:
Kitchen Section: Oak (S127,000) and Ash (16LP) Vintage Fridges
Living Room Section: Green (S155,000) and Purple (15SP) Box Ottomans and Oak (S135,000) and Walnut (13LP) Round Book Display

Once you have completed the whole 10 day event you will unlock the Dusty Dwelling House Template which can be placed in Simtown or Sim Springs. You don’t have to complete this event in the time limit to unlock this house. This house template is available on a standard and a premium residence under the driveway homes tab (if you build it on the Dusty Dwelling lot in Sim Springs you will be building the standard as that lot is 18×18) the first one is free, after this it will cost simoleons depending on how many houses you have already built:
The house is very different on the standard and premium residence, the premium is much bigger with a pool in the middle:
This house is a lot better than Tumbleweed Terrace, it isn’t just full of the cheapest items
Do I have to use the House Templates given during the event? No, you can keep the house you have been creating during the event but there is always the option to demolish that house and replace it with the template
You also unlock:
Living Room Section: Oak (S93,000) and Ash (9LP) Library Bookshelves, Oak (S250,000) and Walnut (25LP) Writing Desks

Once you have completed the whole 10 day event you will unlock the Arid Apartments House Template which can be placed in Simtown or Sim Springs. You don’t have to complete this event in the time limit to unlock this house. This house template is available on a standard and a premium residence under the driveway homes tab (if you build it on the Arid Apartments lot in Sim Springs you will be building the standard as that lot is 18×18) the first one is free, after this it will cost simoleons depending on how many houses you have already built:
The only difference between the standard and the premium is the back of the lot, the premium has a coffee shop and a road layout:
I really like this house template, the ground floor is a bookshop with a separate door for residences to access their apartments on the second, third and fourth floors. There is also a basement with washers so they can do their laundry:
Do I have to use the House Templates given during the event? No, you can keep the house you have been creating during the event but there is always the option to demolish that house and replace it with the template
You also unlock:
Living Room Section: Oak (S100,000) and Walnut (10LP) Book Pillars, Tall Oak (S115,000) and Walnut (11SP) Book Pillars

Decorations Section: Black (S64,000) and White (6LP) Gold Shelves
Trees, Plants and Flowers Section: Tan (S68,500) and Gray (7LP) Calatheas
Once you complete Arid Apartments you will get a few more tutorial tasks to explain this community lot:
Ask about the Lot- 30 seconds (send a sim to Wellspring Library to talk to Johnny Zest)
View the Council Contribution Category- click on buy mode
This final lot is a community lot so your sims cannot live here but they can visit, building works the same as a normal lot but one category in buy mode will be FREE, at Wellspring Library this is the living room section
You can see the living room section while at the library is flashing yellow and says FREE
Place a Council Contributed Object (place any item from the living room section while at the library)
FREE objects are community owned so they cannot be stored or moved to another house, if you have an item in your inventory you would like to use in this build you can place it but if you go to a different house the version you purchased will still be in your inventory
Start a renovation plan task (you can now start the 14 day timer for Wellspring Library or wait the 7 days for it to start automatically:
The timer for Wellspring Library is 14 days rather than 10 days like the other 3 lots
Once Day 13’s tasks are complete you can wait for the next day or use SP to start early

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get to Sim Springs? You can find the bus stop near the Science Lab, click on this to get to Sim Springs:
Why can’t I start this event? You need to be at level 20 or above to be able to begin this. This event is very expensive so it is best to start it when you have completed everything else in the game so you can afford it.
Do I have to start it straight away? No, there is no rush to begin but once you do complete the tutorial the 10 day time limit will begin.
What is the difference between house lots and community lots? Sims cannot live in community lots. You will also be able to place all items from one section of buy mode in the community lot for free, in Sandy Suburbs this is the living room section.
What happens if I don’t complete in time? You can still complete this event even if you don’t complete in the 10 day time limit to get the Grand Prize house template, you just won’t get the Zesty Prizes and you may have to pay ‘deadline extensions’ if you fall behind.
I don’t understand the Zest Zone? Day 8, 9 and 10 are the Zest Zone and you will earn an extra prize at the end of the event if you manage to complete day’s 8, 9 and 10 in 24 hours each (you don’t have to complete all 3 days in 24 hours, you have 24 hours for day 8, then 24 hours for day 9 etc)
What are Mystery Keys? Mystery Keys are usually earned from completing weekly tasks, they can then be spent in the Mystery Box Shop to unlock prizes, read this post for more information
How do I go back to Simtown? You can use the bus stop in Sim Springs or use the buttons at the bottom like you normally would to navigate around town.
Do I have to use the House Templates given during the event? No, you can keep the house you have been creating during the event but there is always the option to demolish that house and replace it with the template
I’ve completed everything, why hasn’t my Sim Springs Happiness level increased? This is the happiness level for the whole of Sim Springs, completing just the first neighbourhood (Sandy Suburbs) will not complete any happiness milestone, you will need to wait for future Sim Springs event to unlock these
