Completing this quest unlocks the stables and horses so your sims can complete the horse tricks and vaulting hobbies. If you complete this quest in the time limit you will unlock the unicorn painting. You can still complete this quest once the time limit is up to unlock the stables and horses but you won’t get the painting

- Spot horses with a telescope- 5 minutes (buy from promotions r us)
- Go to the mystery island
- Spot the overgrown stables (tap on it)
- Call the mysterious number- 2 minutes
- Read a horse care manual- 9 hours 30 minutes
- Call the mysterious number again- 5 minutes
- Look up a locksmith on a computer- 8 minutes
- Build the stables- time and price varies (not enough money?)
- Send a sim to the stables
- Clean up mess in front of yard- 4 minutes
- Have 4 sims at the stables
- Clean up mess in yard with your sims (aged teens and up) (you need to repair the bathtub too) You can work on repairing all of these areas with more than one sim to complete quicker:
- Wild Grass= 30 seconds
- Weeds= 5 minutes
- Thistles= 30 minutes
- Old Tyre= 1 hour 30 minutes
- Small Rock Pile= 4 hours
- Tree Stump= 6 hours
- Large Rock Pile= 7 hours
- Water Trough= 10 hours
- Watch the horse channel- 9 minutes
- Practice brushing on another sim- 3 minutes
- Encourage a sim- 4 minutes
- Repair a stable- S30,000- 1 hour 5 minutes
- Call the stables owner back- 2 minutes

Where can I find a telescope?
You need to buy one from the promotions r us store

No, you cannot build the stables until you get the goal in this quest

Yes, you can have up to 10 sims at a place so 8 sims can clear the 8 items at the same time

My game says there is something under construction when I try to repair a stable, what do I do?
Firstly you need to read the pop up as it tells you exactly what is under construction, once you have go there and click on it to finish building, then you will be able to repair the stable (it will be something you have built previously but probably just haven’t clicked to finish building yet!)

Yes you have to finish it to unlock the stables and two horse hobbies; horse tricks and vaulting before you can move onto the next quest

Of course, you need the Internet to play and when you are updating it will use more
Also with the internet that I have, since I don’t live in town, is not the best and we only get so much downloadable allowance and when I download something it uses it all up, then it’s like dial up slow. But early in the morning it’s like free time with it so I can download whatever I want and I won’t use up any allowance.

If you are on the tutorial tasks then I’m guessing you have just started the game, you need to wait until you get to level 11 to get this quest, you have previous quests to complete first

I’m on level 27 with no quests at all the quest stopped at level 25 after I completed the horses
The need for steed quest is the horses quest, so you have done it then!
So you need a car for this goal? And you need the Car Dealer to get a car..I currently need $250,000 to build the Car Dealer and the price is probably going to go up before I can build it. Plus I only have $82, 371 and it’s so hard to get money… 😦 That sucks!! 😦

The one bedroom home I bought for one of my sims came with a car so that’s how I got around needing the dealership- I’m just having trouble getting this quest I’m level 14 and still don’t have it 😦
Can you build the one story mansion for less? There is a car at that house
At my current level (15) the car dealership would cost $300,000- the mansion would cost $95,000, and the one bedroom would cost $35,000. So the cheapest method is the one bedroom and I have two both came with one star cars
Sorry the one story is $65,000- not $35,000, but still the cheapest method by $30k
I used the car which i bought with the mansion. It really helped since i didnt build the car dealer building. If you don’t complete the quest in time you wont get the painting, if you complete it once the time is up you get the horses, if you don’t complete it you won’t get the horses

Oh that’s really annoying 😦 so has it taken all the mess that you previously cleaned up the first time but reset the quest? That is ridiculous! I would contact EA if I were you because you aren’t going to be able to skip it or get any further

Does anyone actually read the post? For the hundredth time of saying if the time runs out you can still complete the quest, you have as long as you want you just have to complete the quest to get the horses.

Never mind, $300,000 and takes 2 days and 18 hours. I had tons of money saved up, but finished building my town and now I have no money. Got to garden and garden fast.
I didn’t put the price on there because it usually differs with the amount of buildings you have, and then everyone gets annoyed with me because its wrong but it doesn’t seem to for this one so it’s on there now 🙂
I wish my stables cost $150,0000. They depend on your level of the game. If you are low level and don’t have as many buildings bought it will be cheaper for you. If you have all your buildings purchasd you will be maxed out on the purchase of buying the stable. Don’t tell the Girl who games is wrong. That is rude. She already said that it was a varying price and you can see all the comments above. Still planting away to buy my stable. Have 2/3 of the money. Hoping by the end of day.
first of all I never implied that he was wrong. I was just trying to help a little. im thankful she has the blog and i always use. I was wondering if it is normal for the game to glitch? Its only happened once, it cost me two sims. It was baby quest and in order to have a baby I would have to delete a sim, but when I did it still wouldn’t let me have a baby. So I had to delete another sim. They were married and every thing. So I was wondering if you had any thing on earning $$$ and LP?

Yeah sometimes the game does glitch, you should contact EA if you have a techincal issue with the game so they know about it and can fix it

How do I unlock the broken gate?
Are you taking about the task in the next quest, if so you shouldn’t have been able to start that quest yet as it doesn’t come out until the 22nd May so that may be why
Man I wish I could have skipped this quest. I never build the Promotions R Us store, and along with having to build the stables I will be working on this quest for A LONG TIME. I barely have $150,000, as I just decided to build the Ski Park a few days ago.
Well luckily the prize isn’t worth doing it within the time so at least you won’t be missing out on something exciting 😛
i did the whole quest on my ipod (the fast way) and the picture costs $100. and it’s only to admire.

Yeah, I saw that when I bought it. It’s way too expensive for what it is, and I think they should give it to you as the quest reward. 😦 I bought it anyway, because I have a Sim who’s really into unicorns (she’s Harmony Kendall from the tv series Buffy & Angel), but I would never buy it otherwise. I’m not thrilled with the changes they’ve been making to this game. 😦

I noticed it cost $300,000 to build the stable. Although, would it depend on how many building you already have? For instance, if I didn’t buy any unneeded buildings (Grocery store, stadium, car dealership etc.) would that lower the price?

Hello, I just Built my stables and I think you should change back to “time and cost varies” Im on level 19 and it cost me 150,000 and it going to take 1day and 18 hours to build, (41 hours) 😄
I also noticed if you would like to know ahead of time the cost to build the stables just check the cost for any business bulidings for example (supermarket, car dealership, competition center (not workplaces)) and that will let you know thw cost. of course if you build any business before your stables the cost and time will change. P.s you will also need to build the building next to the childrens store im sorry i dont know the name. so yeah this quest is expensive. 😁 I did alot of 45min lettuce planting and it was not easy I was constatly on the phone and alot of negotiating. good luck

Hi! I really need your help.. I just completed the “need for steed quest”, and now I got another quest called “the hidden unicorn”. I have finished 99% of the quest, and the last thing I have to do is “tap show jumping show to fix it”. But everytime I click on it, it comes up a message like this “Your sim cant see how to fix this gate right now. Maybe they’ll think of a way to fix it later”. And then I can never finish the quest within the time limit.. Help!
I think the problem is you shouldn’t have been able to start that quest yet, it doesn’t come out until the 22nd May so that may be why you can’t do the last thing

How do you feed a horse? I click on the horse and nothing happens.
Do you have a sim there to feed it?
I think it’s pretty rotten of them to shove this quest to the front of the quest queue. If you are at level 11 (the minimum to get this quest, which is when you will get it shoved down your throat), you will probably not have built the Mysterious Island yet.
Which means, basically, that you are getting the Horse quest before the Mysterious Island quest. I have no clue what this will break in the game, but it seems like a very, very bad idea to me.
I have one game I started and kind of abandoned (I have a bunch of games going at the same time), which is on level 12 right now and still had the Love In The Air quest on it. As soon as I completed that quest, the Horse quest popped up. I guess I’ll see what will happen to the Mysterious Island quest if I keep playing.
But it wouldn’t shock me if EA didn’t plan for this and you CAN’T complete the Horse quest because you don’t have the island built, and can’t build the island because the Horse quest jumped in front of the Island quest. Catch 22… LOL! I just always expect the worst from EA.
The mysterious island quest should come before the need for steed quest, mysterious island unlocks at level 10, need for steed is level 11

I sort of just started playing this, and it tells me I’ve got to complete this “Need for Steed” Quest in time if I want to unlock “A Quest for Toddlers” and “It’s all going swimmingly”. I read all the steps you posted for the horse quest and I honestly don’t feel like doing it and couldn’t care less about the painting, but I do want the toddlers thing! Having a baby is so annoying (sorry to all the parents out there lol) and I wanna start aging this kid! Is there a way? Can you help me?
Also, I can’t find a goddamn soccer ball in no one’s backyard, I’ve been stuck for days now with that social points quest. Any tips?

You need to do the need for steed quest first to unlock the quest for toddlers, once you complete that you will be able to bake a cake and age the baby, you won’t be able to age the baby before then.
You can either skip the goal with LPs or add someone from the neighbours needed page who has one

This is a general question, but do you know if planting seeds makes Sims’ fun go down. I had a full fun Sim and then when they planted, their fun went to red. 😦

The fun used to go up when they planted but maybe they have changed it, just get them to do something fun for a few minutes then get back to planting, it’s not a big deal
