Once you have built the Sorcerous Supplies store this discovery quest will begin. If you complete this quest in the time limit you will unlock the pet dragon! You can still complete this quest once the time limit is up to unlock the spell casting hobby but you won’t get the dragon prize
You cannot complete this quest at the same time as any other discovery quest
The price for building the sorcerous supplies store will vary depending on how many businesses you have already built
HOW LONG DOES THIS QUEST TAKE TO COMPLETE?
Times may vary depending on the star rating an item has
- Buy a crystal ball (S5,000) from Sorcerous supplies
- Place a crystal ball in a house (you will find it in the decorations section of your inventory once you have brought it)
- Look into the crystal ball- 30 seconds
- Gaze into the crystal ball- 30 seconds
- Pick up the magic wand- 2 seconds
- Unlock the door to the wand room: Randomly Rearrange- 2 hours 30 minutes
- Pick up the magic wand- 30 seconds (magic wand podium- pictured below)
- Use a crystal ball to go home- 1 second
- Act casual on a couch- 10 hours
- Place the magic wand podium in your house (from hobbies section of inventory, pictured below)
- Cast random spells- 13 hours 30 minutes (using magic wand podium)
- Talk to a sim about magic wands- 8 minutes (click on another sim)
- Use the magic wand (cast random spell on magic wand podium)- 13 hours 30 minutes
- Watch emergency broadcast- 2 hours 30 minutes
- Visit the park
- Call a sim to the park
- Formulate a plan- 6 hours 10 minutes (click on a mummy)
- Search for a mummy removal spell on the Internet- 13 hours 30 minutes
- Perform anti-mummies spell on a magic wand (podium)- 7 minutes
- Use the crystal ball to visit the wizards house- 1 second
- Read weird world of wands at wizards house- 22 hours 30 minutes
- Explain to the wizard- 8 hours 12 minutes
- Use the crystal ball to go back home- 1 second
- Call a sim to the park
- Talk to the wizard- 1 minute 40 seconds
- Distract a mummy- 16 hours 30 minutes
- Talk to wizard about magic spells- 3 minutes
- Distract a mummy- 16 hours 30 minutes
- Joke around with the wizard- 10 seconds
- Distract a mummy- 16 hours 30 minutes
- Pack up the magic wand podium- 30 seconds
- Talk to the wizard- 3 hours 10 minutes (he should appear at the house you are at)
QUEST IS COMPLETE!
You can now complete the Spell Casting Hobby (you need to buy a magic wand podium like the one in this quest from the sorcerous supplies store, you do not get to keep the one in the quest) The time limit for the hobby begins as soon as you complete this quest

Where do I find them? In the Pet store (if you haven’t built the pet store yet you can still get the dragons once it is built)
Cost?
- There are two 1 star dragons- one costs 50,000, the other costs 25 SP
- There are two 2 star dragons- one costs 250,000, the other costs 25 LP
- There are two 3 star dragons- one costs 50 LP, the other costs 100 LP
Is the prize worth it? Yes it really is! It is unusual and cute, why wouldn’t you want one? Once you have brought a dragon it will appear at the house, near the mailbox as an egg:

Once it has hatched it will fly around the house, like dogs and cats it will find simoleons and LP:
A sim can interact with the dragon to increase the dragons happiness, they can praise or feed them:

Yes it will be, you can choose to start it whenever you like
How do I unlock the door to the wand room?
Select randomly rearrange
How do I place the magic wand podium, I can’t find it!
It will be in the hobby and career items section of your inventory
Why do blue footprints appear when I try to use an item?
Blue footprints appear when your sim cannot access an item you want them to use, you need to either rotate the item or move an item that has been placed in front of it so they can use it.
How do I send my sim to the park?
Go to the park and click on the whistle next to a sim who isn’t busy on the simtracker, this post explains more about the simtracker
Everytime my sim gazes into the crystal ball it says ‘this place is too crowded’ why?
If you already have a sim at the wizards cottage you will get this message, use the simtracker to go to the sim who is already there instead of using the crystal ball
Can I do all the distract a mummy tasks at the same time?
No you can’t, you can only do them one at a time
How do I pack up the magic wand podium?
Click on it to pack up
The magic wand podium has disappeared once I’ve picked it up! How do I complete the hobby?
You will need to buy a magic wand podium from the sorcerous supplies store to complete the hobby
What do I get if I complete this quest in the time limit?

Yes they will

Yes, the time limit for the hobby starts straight away once this quest is complete, you can click no when the hobby pop up appears but this does not stop the timer going down

Hi. thanks for having this blog, it is very helpful for the Sims Freeplay. I have a question about this quest. I have a sim that started this quest and I had a Sim come over so he could talk to her about the magic wand. After that finished I needed use the magic wand again and clicked on it. Unfortunately, I clicked on it with the other sim. will that make a difference? Will I still get credit for using the magic wand or does it have to be the sim that started the quest?

If you updated yours to the Christmas one will it still give you the missions product RED and The spell one cause I fogot to update those it would really help. You wouldn’t get the red quest but you will get the book of spells
If you have read the ways to make money quest and it didn’t help then I have no idea what else to suggest, they are all the ways to make money in the game.

I started talking to the wizard as the last part of this (3 hours long) and have 1 hour left. Since i started talking to the wizard, but won’t finish talking to him before time is up, will i still get the dragons? Or am i rating my game on account of 2 hours since I’m 1 lp shy of speeding things up?
Sorry but you will complete the quest after the time is up so you won’t be able to get the dragons

I destroyed my house with the wand podium in it, how am I suppose to find another wand podium?

I must be stupid. I have the clues about the cat sitting on a book and a book called prestigious. I still don’t get what the clue is to open the door.

I have not yet built the magic tower, and was wondering when the quest starts. Does it begin right when you build the tower, when the quest you are working on ends, or do you do something inside of the tower to activate the quest?

you have to be very good with time management to get them all in the time without using Lps

So I completed this quest and currently have a level 3 wizard. As she is performing spells, I can see the level up (skill) percentage going up but when I click the exclamation mark to get the reward for the spell, the skill percentage goes back to zero. I can’t get my wizard to level up any further. Am I doing something wrong?
This is a glitch, they can still level up, the hobby bar is just incorrect

What appears when you click on the podium? blue footprints? If so you may need to rotate it so they can access it
No. There is a podium but if i click on it nothing happen. About as if i click anywhere else where there is nothing. Doesn’t take up any action window..

no one is the couch, the couch is a piece of furniture in your house.
This may be irrelevant to the quest, but do the sims ever die? Or get older? I’m scared because im about to buy a 3 star drag and im afraid he won’t last very long. If they do die, do the dragons just get passed onto the next sim at the house?

once you complete the life dreams and legacies quest sims then start to die, if all the sims in that house die you can relocate the animal to a different house or just move another person into that house

I didn’t know that the quest automatically started and ended up buying the crystal ball a day late. Would I be able to finish, or should I not waste my time?
As soon as you get the first goal for the quest the timer starts, so it has started before you buy the crystal ball so you may struggle to finish on time.
How do u get the dragons of u don’t get to complete it in the time limit, do u get a chance to but it or anything?

no, but you have as long as you want to complete the quest, you can’t move on until the quest is completed.
You just have to complete in the time limit if you want to dragons.

I got a bug.. The mission ask me to pick up the magic wand and go home but I forgot and straight went home and then the next missions ask me to place the podium… Then I can’t find the podium .. I searched anywhere hobbies section inventory, supplies store . I tried to back to the wizard house to pick the wand but I can’t click wizard podium anymore 😦 it show nothing … I guess I’m gonna stuck in here forever…

If you didn’t get a notification saying congratulations you unlocked the dragons! then you must have missed out on them.

I just wanted to let you know I am doing this quest and had one of my Sims doing ‘read big book of wands’ early. I didn’t go to the wizard’s house until it said to use the crystal ball. When I got there it said I could only have 1 Sim there at a time and didn’t count where I read the book. I hadn’t even checked on my Sim reading it until that moment when I used the crystal ball. I had to restart it. Maybe they changed it so you can’t do it early? Thank you so much for these walk throughs. Super helpful, I just wish it counted my action because that’s another 22 1/2 hours I don’t have to spare.

I’m going to try and visit a neighbors house who has a moving bookshelf and read the big book of wands and see if that helps.
I made the sim read the book early. It worked fine. I made sure I timed it right so I had about an hour and a bit spare , just in case. I got the error when I sent my sim through the crystal ball. He pops in, then disapears, error shows saying only one at a time, all the while my girl reading in a chair kept reading, no problem. After the error, the quest progression message appeared no problem saying to read the book. When she did finish an hour later, it went to the next quest progression message, all good.
I started the reading of the book right after I sent my sim to the park.
Is anyone else having trouble getting back into the castle thing once you leave or is it just me? Every time I click on it it just brings up the “spell store” thing.
you can’t go back there after you finish the quest or until you get a goal in the quest to go there.

This may be ridiculous to ask, but once a dragon is hatched, how do you feed it? There are no supplies for a dragon in the pet section of the home store.
Just get a sim to click on it and they can feed it steak
