Once you have completed The Sunset Mall Quest you will be able to build the escalator at the mall and begin this discovery quest. If you complete this quest in the time limit you unlock the seesaw. You can still complete this quest once the time is up to unlock the top floor of the mall but you won’t get the seesaw
You cannot complete this quest at the same time as any other discovery quest
HOW LONG DOES THIS QUEST TAKE TO COMPLETE?
Times may vary depending on the star rating an item has.
- Send a sim to the 2nd floor of the mall
- Read the poster- 1 minute
- Investigate a store- 2 seconds
- Ask the plant to move- 5 minutes
- Grill patties at the park- 20 minutes (using the barbecue)
- Feed burgers to the plant- 6 hours 30 minutes
- Clean the plant’s mess:
- Broken tile- 5 hours 30 minutes
- Trash- 1 hour 30 minutes
- Trash- 30 minutes
- Call sim fashion- 24 minutes (on a phone)
- Return to plant (go to the mall)
- Yell at plant- 5 minutes
- Step closer to plant- 12 hours 30 minutes
- Search for teleport remote- 19 hours (using a computer)
- Build a teleport remote- 20 seconds (using a TV)
- Teleport plant- 8 seconds
- Go to park
- Teleport plant to the best spot- 12 hours 15 minutes (the image below shows you which spot you need to select)
- Build the first store- 1 hour (costs S10,000)
- Try something on (using the wardrobe)
- Take selfies- 5 hours 30 minutes
- Email fashion photos- 19 hours
- Send 2 sims to the park
- Start photoshoot- 12 hours 30 minutes (you need two sims- one needs to wait for the photographer then the other sim needs to start the shoot)
- Capture photo of plant (using the camera button on the screen)
- Hug plant- 1 day
- Say goodbye to the sim eating plant- 10 minutes
QUEST IS COMPLETE!
You can now clean up the top floor of the mall to unlock new stores, my Guide to the Mall shows you what needs cleaning in the mall, how much the stores cost and what clothes you unlock in each store! You can also now build the Wumples Play Center which is on the second floor at the mall (mainly for toddlers)
It has two swings, a slide and a see-saw for your sims to enjoy!

Is it worth it? It’s cute but expensive for what it is, and there is one at the Wumples Play Center when you complete the quest

How do I start this discovery quest?
You need to complete the sunset mall quest then build the escalator to the second floor before you can start this quest
Does the time limit start when I click to build or once the building has complete?
Once it has finished building the quest and time limit will begin
Why can’t I do this discovery quest yet?
You cannot do more than one discovery quest at the same time, if you are currently on another one (the list can be found here) you will not be able to do this one until that one is completed
Can I do discovery quests at the same time as a main quest?
Yes you can
Do I have to do this quest?
If you don’t start building the escalator you don’t have to do this quest at all but if you have already started building or started this quest you need to complete it before you can move on to the next quest
I haven’t started this quest yet, will it still be available when I want to do it?
Yes it will be, you can choose to start it whenever you like

No, the only way to get the limited time prizes is by completing the quest in the time limit

No, you have to complete this quest before you can move onto the next one now that you have started it, if you don’t start building the escalator you don’t have to do this quest but once it is built the quest will begin
Some times are slightly different on my game, why is this?
Times may vary depending on the star rating of the item you are using, as the higher star rating an item has the quicker you will complete a goal
Some times are really off/ different goals show for me, why is this?

hey.. the problem is. i havent completed the sunset mall quest..
but i happened to visit one of my neighbours where i visited his sunset mall. so therebwas a screen saying.. sunset mall quest completed. and then the “pretty little planters” quest was started. but while this all happened.. i got no sunset mall in my town. so .. the real problem is.. i wont be able to complete this quest unless i build the mall.. nd the mall asks me to first complete the quest😑😑😑 what am i supposed to do now? plz help.. i pray to you

I would recommend that you contact EA about this issue as I am unable to fix technical issues and hopefully they will be able to sort this out.

Hi I love your blog but I have a major problemo…. I recently comleted the balconies quest and as soon as I finished it came up with this thing on the pretty little planters quest… I said yes because I thought it would appear later but it’s automatically started. Now I have to go to the first floor of the sunset mall but i havent built it yet and it wont let me build it until the wuest is complete! I’ve considered restarting my game but i’ve just built this amazing house that cost me heaps and I don’t want to lose it… Please help! Once again I love your blog xx

I haven’t built the mall yet and this quest started. I can’t send my sim there without the mall, and I can’t build the mall without conpleting the quest. Any ideas?

Hello again. I have contacted the EA but they didnt fix my problem. My “pretty Little planters” quest expired and now i am stuck because i cant built anything because i have to finish that quest…
Have they got back to you yet? If not you will just need to wait for them to reply, there is nothing I can do to fix this as it is a technical issues.
I have a problem. I didn’t build the mall now I am stuck sending my sims to the second floor in this quest. I cannot build the mall without the little planters quest and cannot proceed without sending someone to the second floor. I am at a stalemate. Pls help

I have had this quest available to me for a while now, but I don’t have the mall built and it won’t let me build the mall UNTIL I finish this quest. How can I do this??
This is a glitch, you will need to contact EA so they can fix this issue for you.
Ugh I have the same problem and I’m so far along in my game I don’t want to delete it I’m already on level 24

Look everyone, please read above comments by previous poster. And if you are having the exact same problems, please double check if WM already replied to the comments. And if she does, DONT ASK AGAIN for god sake. I’ve got the same as u guys, and what I did is, listen to what she advised, contacted the ea team, wait for their replies, do as what they said, keep follow up with them and they will settled it. It just a matter of time. Mine took about 1 and half months. I knew the task is going to end but its okay, because once you download the content provided by the ea support team, those quest will be back for you. And you can play again as the last time this glitch happen. Just be patient, a lot more people out there need to be sorted out before you guys. Be tough WM, please don’t stop providing us tutorial 💕
Hi there! A quick comment on one of the tasks in the game. With the latest app update, it takes 21.5 hrs to email fashion photos rather than the 19 that you have listed. Aside from this, just a general thank you for making a blog about these quests. Very helpful. 🙂

I didn’t see my problem above, so I’m going to post it here and see if I get any reponses. My problem is my mall is built, second floor is done, and I’ve built the toddler play center at the mall. Every now and then, I go to the map screen, it tells me there’s a discovery quest at the mall and when I go, nothing happnes. I’ve tried going with an adult, a toddler, both an adult and toddler, but the play center is already built and can be played with. Why do I keep getting told there’s a new discovery quest when I’ve finished everything?
That is definitely a glitch as you have completed the mall already, you may want to contact EA to see what they say about this issue or you could just ignore it and hopefully it will be fixed in the next update!

I just had some questions: (1) what are the requirements to build the escalator (like how many shops?), (2) What are the requirements for the shop built during the quest (how many shops do you have to have already?), (3) can you do the ‘cleaning plant’s mess’ at the same time (4) In your ‘guide to the mall’ there is a 3x 10h30m cleanup and 2x 5h30 cleanup, do you need to do all or just the ones that you stated above?
1.I believe the only requirement is to complete the sunset mall quest but if you click on it it should tell you what you need to do to build the escalator.
2.There is no requirement for the shop built during the quest
3.No you cannot do these at the same time
4. You will not be able to clean the rest up until you complete this quest so you only have to clean up the ones stated in this post

Unless I’m getting something wrong the answer to (3) is not correct for everyone as of now. I’m currently playing this quest and I when was “cleaning up the plant’s mess” I did indeed use one sim for the 5 hour 30 repair and had a second sim deal with the shorter two trash clean ups at the same time. By the time the repair was done, the second sim had already gone home and the task was completed successfully.
So if anyone else is playing that quest I recommend just trying if this works for them. 🙂

Hi I was just wondering how you rate these quests because I saw that it takes like 4 days to complete this but it is hard? Also, I’m stuck on what quest to start next 😅. Any favourites? I’ve completed all main quests and the ones which you don’t have to build something for and I have done downtown and I think that’s it!
I rate them purely based on how difficult I think they are to complete in the time limit. If you don’t like my rating system you probably won’t like my opinion on quests! But I like Vacations Guide to the Outdoors 🙂
Hi. I am nearly at the end of this quest. My sim is hugging the plant but now seems to become stuck. I started hugging about 7 hours ago but her task bar hasn’t moved and I can’t click on her to cancel the task. Any suggestions please?
Have you tried force closing your game and opening it again?
This just happened to me, it seemed frozen, and I came here for answers. Ended up going back after the time should have finished, and the task was complete!
