YOU NEED TO COMPLETE THE IN STITCHES QUEST BEFORE YOU CAN BEGIN THIS QUEST
Completing this quest unlocks automatic ageing so your sims can age and die as well as the ability to give your sims personalities and earn orbs to build new places; the pet park, arcade, beach and carnival. If you complete this quest in the 5 day time limit you will unlock the singing salmon which makes your sims inspired! You can still complete this quest once the time limit is up but you won’t get the singing salmon
How long does this quest take to complete?
Right now you can reverse your sims back to the beginning of their life stage for FREE so they don’t have to die if you don’t want them to!
Times may vary depending on the star rating an item has.
- Call a friend on a phone- 4 minutes
- Send invitations on a computer- 4 minutes
- Send 5 sims to snow park
- Tend the bar in the snow park (stay tending the bar for the next task)
- Order a cocktail at cabin (snow park)- 32 seconds (you can only do this task when someone is tending the bar)
- Ask Osiris about new inventions- 6 minutes 12 seconds
- Open the age controller (see steps 1 and 2 in the image below)
- Advance an adult sims age
- Send a sim to the park
- Examine the glowing orb- 1 day 20 minutes (can be found on the pier in the park)
- Give the orb to a senior (that sim will pass away during this quest)
- Open the life dreams menu (see image below)
- Choose a life dream
- Fulfil a life dream- you could get any one of these life dreams, I have included how to complete them (times may vary):
- I want to read Sci Fi books from a preteen bookshelf- 4 hours (Select Sci Fi from preteen bookshelf)
- I want to debunk theories of relativity while drinking tea- 13 hours 20 minutes (Select debunk theory of relativity on teapot)
- I want to write letters to sci fi celebrities on the computer- 7 hours 12 minutes (Letters to celebs option on computer)
- I want to get all Dr Whoozits memorabillia via the internet and send it to a museum- 11 hours 42 minutes (Select the option on a computer)
- I want to talk to tech support about computer systems on the phone- 4 hours 30 minutes (Select the option on the phone)
- I want to create an edible board game army by baking gingerbread sims- 6 hours (Bake Gingerbread on a stove)
- I want to read encyclopedias from bookshelfs- 3 hours (Select encyclopedia on a bookshelf)
- I want to argue with park statue constantly about the virtues of Dr Whoozits- 8 hours 20 minutes (Click on the thinking man statue in the park)
- I want to have many scientific breakthroughs in the bath- 9 minutes (Select the option on a bath)
- I want to strategize chess on a chessboard as often as possible-6 hours (Select the option on a chess board)
- I want to have marathon movie sessions on a TV- 8 hours (Select Movie Marathon on a TV)
- I want to tell a lot of sims all about Ms Vampire Slayer- 10 hours (requires another sim, select option)
- Have a senior ask Osiris for help- 5 minutes
- Tap on the beach, carnival, arcade or pet park on island
- Have a senior ask Osiris for help- 20 seconds
- Fulfil a life dream- (the same as you did before)
- Have a scientific breakthrough in the bath- 9 minutes
- Debunk theory of relativity while drinking tea- 10 hours 30 minutes
- Tend to garden- 1 hour (plant)
- Prepare family dinner- 6 hours (stove)
- Complete a cycle of life (goodbye senior sim!)
- Have 4 sims in one house
- Be nice to a sim- 1 minute
- Have a baby- 1 day (can be started early) (having a baby through the pregnancy event will complete this)

Hey i have a question. I didn’t do the dying update because I don’t get what happens exactly to my sim people. I have several sims that I would like to keep alive forever, they are my favourite sims. How do I do that? Can I have more than one platinum orb? And how can I achieve the platinum orb? Can I use a random sim to do a platinum orb and once it dies, can I give it to my favourite sim? I really don’t like this update at all…. I have 30 sims an i want to keep all of them smh I have been playing this game for yrs I’m going to try to upload a old save to try to avoid all my sims dying…. if that don’t work, I think it’s time for me to delete the game…..I can’t watch my little creations die….
I think it’s to make the game seem more like the sims 4 or 3. You know, because they eventually die in those games

This might seem like a silly question – but WHERE is the Age Controller ? I have looked all over the Snow Park, the garden park, on Osiris, on my other Sims and can’t find it anywhere !!!

I am very hesitant to start this quest because I don’t want none of my sims to die and I don’t want them to grow into nothing because I want them to stay as they are and I know if I don’t do this quest I can’t do future quests which sucks. Out of all the things they could do instead of this aging death quest like make the quest about building an arcade and if you finish the quest in time your sims could play video games at home or something like that. Why did it have to be this bull. I know you’re not responsible for the games I just wanted someone else to complain about this quest sorry. But anywho what is the quest after this one?
at the moment there isn’t a quest after this one but that could change in future updates.
This is the last quest. I don’t want my sims to die either so when I unlocked that quest I didn’t start it. If you don’t want to do the quest, then ignore it and work on completing weekly tasks and getting lots of LPs, SPs, and simpletons. Hope I helped

I really hate the fact that you can’t turn off aging like you can in the Sims PC games such as The Sims 4. What’s the point of a quest when you can’t have a choice of aging; a yes or no problem. You know what I also hate? The fact that your sims age DURING the quest, even before you have completed it. I was on a cruise for a week(without wifi), so when I came back in the middle of the quest almost all of my sims had aged up at least 1 setting. My baby went from a baby to a preteen! Why did they do this to this quest when they didn’t for the other quests?! 😡

I finshed the quest and later that day it gave me something called a Discovery Quest called a Dance to Remember. I was wondering if you knew anything about it. It is just like any of the other quests you do.

Get your senior sim to click on a bathtub and select the scientific breakthrough option.
I have finally got to the dream and legacy quest.
My question is will the Sims have time to gather items (for the teen idol mansion) or will the Sims be too busy trying to fulfil their legacy before the age to the next age group?
They should have time, but it may take you several different teens to complete it
If you get up to the ask Osiris for help quest, but go no further, do your sims automatically age and die? And is there a way of pausing aging without orbs or LPs?

Once you advance the adult sims age all your sims will start ageing at this point.

I did not advance an adult Sim’s age. Nevertheless my SIms are aging. My baby had a birthday cake appear above her head this morning and the green circles are filling in around all the others. Whether I want it or not I guess the death march has begun. Too bad.

The only way you can start over is by completely restarting your game from the beginning, to do this go into settings, options and click reset game- you will lose all your progress by doing this

Yes it is, either use the camera button on the screen or you can take a screenshot using buttons on your device, you will have to look up how to screenshot on your device as they are all different.

Hey weightlessmagic I have a major problem. Since the Road to Fame quest asked me to buy a keyboard from the home store at the teen section, it didn’t allow me to buy ’cause when I tapped the furniture button, I saw the living room section and I saw the only option to buy stack of magazines. And no other sections were available except the inventory and move and sell sections. Now I decided to buy a keyboard from Promotions ‘R’ Us and now im at ghost hunters quest it asks me to buy a spooky painting from decorations section but it’s still locked or unavailable. Pls help me
you will need to contact EA about that issue so they can fix it for you

Hi there. First I love this blog so much. Thank you for all the work you put in it. I am working on life dreams and I have a teenager who wants to “watch fish to see if they really do hold initiation ceremonies in their fish tank”. Do you know which choice I must use to do this when I tap on the tank? It’s not very clear. Thank you again.
Click on the fishtank, if the option has a life dreams symbol on it then you can use it, you should be able to do all of them so do the longest one.

I didn’t know I had to pic up the orb at my deceased sims house. All of the sims were out of the house & it wouldn’t let me go back there so I had to relocate a sim to the house in order to get the orb. How do I move that sim back to her house with her mate?
you didn’t need to relocate the sim to get the orb, you could have just clicked view house on the town map to see the house without anyone living there
Just go back to the house you want her at and get her friend to select ask to move in and she will be back there
The life cycle circle thing that turns green and shows you how much you have until the next phase of life has at almost a quarter way green on all but 4 of my sims. Y is that?
maybe those 4 sims aren’t doing as much as everyone else is, it only goes up when they do an action so if they were to hibernate for a day they would have a day less

I’m in the quest that precedes this one right now. I wasn’t going to finish it because I didn’t want this quest to start. But, I saw that the mall update is coming so I guess I have to complete life dreams and legacy. My question is how many sims will die during this quest? I keep reading how some people have lost a great number of sims. How many of your sims died?
I believe the mall one is a discovery quest so once you build the mall it will start the quest straight away, so the life dreams quest shouldn’t have to be completed
I have lost count of the amount of sims have died since doing the quest, only one died in the quest though
I did some calculations, to see how many sims would have to complete life dreams to get all the orbs for the arcade, beach, carnival, and dog park, and all the areas in each of them. It takes a grand total of 189 sim lives: 40 geeky, 33 sporty, 48 animal fanatic, and 68 entertainer. In order to start enough separate orbs to earn all the different levels – bronze, silver, gold, platinum – you need to give new orbs to 16 geeky sims, 25 sporty sims, 20 animal fanatic sims, and 26 entertainer sims. Once you’ve started enough orbs, you’ll need to reassign orbs to new sims to be upgraded, as all types require silver orbs, and all but sporty(beach) require gold orbs and at least one platinum. Entertainer(carnival) eventually requires 4 platinum orbs. I think I’ve finally gotten my head around the idea of so many sims dying, and I’ve planned out how I’ll pass these orbs around and level them up. I figure it will take about six months to get all of them, less if I can keep them very busy and make them complete wishes and age up and die faster. That’s how I’m looking at it: make them die, so I can collect their life orbs, and build all the cool places and open all the cool areas in them. I’ve come a long way, since being horrified to find out that my sims would have to die, and the change in my attitude came about through finding more information, in this blog and similar sites. Thank you so much for taking the time to teach and inform us!

I will never forget Annie Roberts, my sim that just died. I wasn’t going to do this quest because I didn’t wna my sims to die but I told myself I was being silly and persuaded myself to do the quest. Why did I do tell myself to do the quest? Anybody here fell this way about their sims that died?

I have searched everywhere, what do you do about the hobbies such as salsa dancing, cooking, quilting, ghost hunting, magic, etc that aren’t included in the four categories for aging. Which personality goes with each hobby or do you just give those up.
not each hobby goes with a personality, you don’t have to give them up, you can still continue with them
I have a question will your sims actually start to age at level 1 and if they do do they age a little bit

what is your sims life dream, look in the life dream menu (this was your previous task) and see what the life dream is, it will tell you what object to use, click on the object
