YOU NEED TO COMPLETE THE IN STITCHES QUEST BEFORE YOU CAN BEGIN THIS QUEST
Completing this quest unlocks automatic ageing so your sims can age and die as well as the ability to give your sims personalities and earn orbs to build new places; the pet park, arcade, beach and carnival. If you complete this quest in the 5 day time limit you will unlock the singing salmon which makes your sims inspired! You can still complete this quest once the time limit is up but you won’t get the singing salmon
How long does this quest take to complete?
Right now you can reverse your sims back to the beginning of their life stage for FREE so they don’t have to die if you don’t want them to!
Times may vary depending on the star rating an item has.
- Call a friend on a phone- 4 minutes
- Send invitations on a computer- 4 minutes
- Send 5 sims to snow park
- Tend the bar in the snow park (stay tending the bar for the next task)
- Order a cocktail at cabin (snow park)- 32 seconds (you can only do this task when someone is tending the bar)
- Ask Osiris about new inventions- 6 minutes 12 seconds
- Open the age controller (see steps 1 and 2 in the image below)
- Advance an adult sims age
- Send a sim to the park
- Examine the glowing orb- 1 day 20 minutes (can be found on the pier in the park)
- Give the orb to a senior (that sim will pass away during this quest)
- Open the life dreams menu (see image below)
- Choose a life dream
- Fulfil a life dream- you could get any one of these life dreams, I have included how to complete them (times may vary):
- I want to read Sci Fi books from a preteen bookshelf- 4 hours (Select Sci Fi from preteen bookshelf)
- I want to debunk theories of relativity while drinking tea- 13 hours 20 minutes (Select debunk theory of relativity on teapot)
- I want to write letters to sci fi celebrities on the computer- 7 hours 12 minutes (Letters to celebs option on computer)
- I want to get all Dr Whoozits memorabillia via the internet and send it to a museum- 11 hours 42 minutes (Select the option on a computer)
- I want to talk to tech support about computer systems on the phone- 4 hours 30 minutes (Select the option on the phone)
- I want to create an edible board game army by baking gingerbread sims- 6 hours (Bake Gingerbread on a stove)
- I want to read encyclopedias from bookshelfs- 3 hours (Select encyclopedia on a bookshelf)
- I want to argue with park statue constantly about the virtues of Dr Whoozits- 8 hours 20 minutes (Click on the thinking man statue in the park)
- I want to have many scientific breakthroughs in the bath- 9 minutes (Select the option on a bath)
- I want to strategize chess on a chessboard as often as possible-6 hours (Select the option on a chess board)
- I want to have marathon movie sessions on a TV- 8 hours (Select Movie Marathon on a TV)
- I want to tell a lot of sims all about Ms Vampire Slayer- 10 hours (requires another sim, select option)
- Have a senior ask Osiris for help- 5 minutes
- Tap on the beach, carnival, arcade or pet park on island
- Have a senior ask Osiris for help- 20 seconds
- Fulfil a life dream- (the same as you did before)
- Have a scientific breakthrough in the bath- 9 minutes
- Debunk theory of relativity while drinking tea- 10 hours 30 minutes
- Tend to garden- 1 hour (plant)
- Prepare family dinner- 6 hours (stove)
- Complete a cycle of life (goodbye senior sim!)
- Have 4 sims in one house
- Be nice to a sim- 1 minute
- Have a baby- 1 day (can be started early) (having a baby through the pregnancy event will complete this)

You can’t bring them back but you can create new sims or sims that look the same as the ones that passed on

A few questions for “Life Dreams and Legacies” because that will be next for me, once I’m done with In Stitches.
1) Almost all of my sims are adult, so I suppose that once they start aging, they will all become seniors at the same time? I’d rather not have a town with almost only seniors.
2) You mention having some of them do only a few actions, to delay their aging, but how do you keep inaction from draining their needs?
3) What would be best: deleting some senior sims, to make room for new adults, or fulfilling their life dreams in stead – to get orbs and also make room for new adult sims when they die?

1. If they do all the same actions that last the same amount of time they would all age at the same time but if they do different actions some will last longer than others
2. You don’t but small actions occasionally to fulfil their needs won’t increase their timer by much
3. fulfilling their life dreams is the best thing to do

Hi I find your site really useful and maybe this sounds silly ,but when a sim die it just disappear or something else happens?
they disappear and leave an orb in their place if they completed their life dreams
Is there any other way to have a baby besides the crib? It says I can’t have another baby until several levels from now or use 90 LPs
no that is the only way you can have a baby
If I reach level 26 before all of the other quests are complete what will happen? I’m on level 22 but still on the swimming quest. I havent done the preteen, teenagers, seniors, or adult quests..
nothing, you just have to complete all the quests in order, the level you are on isn’t relevant.
I think the reason the senior still counts is due to the baby being started early. I had this happen. I killed off my first senior.. while the baby was baking. It wouldn’t let me make another sim until the baby finished.

Yes, don’t start the quest if you don’t want your sims to age.

Toddler- 3 days
Preteen- 5 days

Adult- 18 days
Senior- 10 days
How do your sims level up in their careers or hobbies if they are only around 18 days or less?
life dreams don’t take the whole time to complete, you can get most life dreams done probably within half of their time at that stage
What does it mean when the age circle thing on the sim tracker is red around someone’s face?
They are going to move onto the next stage or die soon.
Another question, why won’t my cat come to her bowl, or bed when I call her to it? Is it because the pets can’t go upstairs?
no they can go upstairs, sometimes they just don’t want to, mainly if they are finding treasure at that moment they won’t come when called
I’m trying to assign personalities to my sims (they now have the countdown around their heads) but I don’t have the personality tab in the wardrobe?!

Sorry that I am a bit confused. I don’t want my sims to age and I saw a note in the “in stitches quest” stating that “NOTE: the next quest allows your sims to age and die, if you don’t want them to die then do not finish this quest.” Does it mean once I finish the “in stitches quest” and the “life dreams & legacies quest” starts automatically then my sims will start to age? or I can still finish the “in stitches quest” and stop at the beginning of the “life dreams & legacies quest” if I don’t want my sims to age?
It means don’t finish the in stitches quest if you do not want your sims to die or the life dreams quest will start automatically.

Hi – just a quick thank you for your great walk throughs. I haven’t missed a time limited prize yet.
I am currently on the In Stitches Quest and I’m checking out Lifedreams in preparation, but I’m a bit confused – not hugely unusual.
At the start you say that you need room for 2 Sims. However, when I read through (and I dd it a few times to make sure), the only Sim you add is the baby. Why do you need 2 slots?

Its just because there was a glitch where when the sim died it didn’t remove them from the sim count so you needed an extra space
In sims free play. Like.in the sim tracker. My senior and teen girl have a red glow around them. What does it mean? Also the grin reeper is hanging around my senior.but.not the teenager. Once.my senior or teen is completely red does thst mean,theyll die?
The grim reaper is waiting for your senior sims timer (the red circle) to fill up, then your sim will die, a teen will just age when their red circle is full
I’m confused. Why would you need 2 spaces available if all you’re doing is adding 1 sim? Would you not just need the space to add a baby?..

My question is this, I forgot that this was the last quest and my sims start aging and dying after I finish, so I “accidentally” started it. I prefer not doing this quest because my sims are special to me ;~; I’m currently at the part where I have to ask Osiris about the invention. So is it too late to stop doing the quest or will my sims still age if I just ignore the rest? ((And I understand that I won’t be able to get any of the quests after this one and I can’t get the carnival and pet park if i don’t do it. I’m okay with that.))

Unfortunately your sims will still age if you ignore the rest as the ageing starts as soon as you begin the quest

Yes they do, all sims will age automatically when you do this quest

There are new quests added with every update, at the moment it is the patio, balconies and basements quests! 🙂
I was wary of starting this quest… But I’m pleasantly surprised that the life spans are that long! I do value my sims and don’t want them to die… but it’s always good to change it up. Plus now I don’t have to use all my LP baking b-day cakes. 😦 Is there any way to stop a few special sims from dying though? I’m attached to Amelia Aburst!
Yes there is, you can either keep reversing them back to the start of that life stage with LPs or you can get a platinum orb and pause the sims life forever. To get a platinum orb you need to have a sim complete their life dream to get a bronze, then you pass it to another sim to get a silver, then another sim to get a gold then a final sim to get a platinum
If a sim dies do you have to wait to level up or can you just add a new sim because your sim count went down?
You can just add a new one

Eventually yes, they age automatically but you add new sims

it pauses your sims age
So if you pause their age they dont die?
If so then why not complete the quest?
yes
because to pause a sims age completely costs a platinum orb- which requires 4 sims to complete life dreams to get a bronze orb, to a silver to a gold and then to a platinum, it takes a long time and costs 4 sims lives to save one sim.

I hope the next update is to get rid of the life dreams and legacies one. i cant bear the thought of losing my precious toddler Hayley just so i can unlock a really cool looking building.

Yes, go into buy mode, click on the crib and you can move it downstairs
but sims don’t die from being in a bad mood
If I start the quest and then stop to finishing it. What will happen to my sims? Are they going to age automatically? Because this is my next quest and I want to finish first the other quest. After that it will automatically start this quest. What will happen if I will not continue this quest? I don’t want yet to do this quest. I want to keep my sims because I want to show it to my Girlfriend when I’m back home. I really don’t want to finish this quest. Maybe once it started I’ll just leave it by that. Don’t start the quest if you don’t want your sims to die because they will start to age as soon as you start it
You need to stay on the previous quest and your sims won’t age and die
Can you use LP to stop a sim dying?
yes, you can reverse them back to the beginning of that life stage but you would have to do that everytime their life is coming to an end
Hi! I love the sims and your website! But anyway, I have the most recent version of the Sims Freeplay, and the Simtracker certainly looks different. I am nowhere near the LD&L quest, but I am confused on how this is going to work. So…
1. Just to be clear, all sims start aging WHEN I START THE QUEST, right?
2. How is it going to look in the modern-day Simtracker? And how will the adult aging thing work? Is it all going to appear when I get to the quest?

My simtracker looks exactly the same as it used to, there are two versions of the simtracker (if you have a smaller device it fills the whole screen)
