I love this page!! Thank you for ALL you do!! I have a question, I’m way past level 26 but still need to do the “life dreams and legacies” quest. How do I go about doing that? Thank you in advance
Thanks and you’re welcome!
Are you on a previous quest? As you need to complete all other quests then this one should start automatically
Um I’ve started the quest but I haven’t finished it. Will my sims age tho? I’m just worried ;-;
yes they will.
A while back I unlocked of all my sims early. I am still only level 41 and have not completed this quest. I was wondering, if I finish this quest will I need to pay LP again to unlock sims as they die and need replaced? Or will I always be able to have 35 sims? Thank you!
Good question but I have no idea sorry! I would love to know if you do ever find out the answer though
Do baby’s become free after this quest or do they still cost 3lp?
they cost simoleons after you complete this quest.
Hi, for me, the ‘Have a scientific breakthrough in a bath’ takes 7 hours. It may just be for me though, but if its not, just wanted to let you know so you could update it if you wanted to💓 xx
thanks, updated
Can your pause the ageing? I love your blog it’s so helpful!
Yes you can: https://thegirlwhogames.wordpress.com/2015/10/02/the-sims-freeplay-pausing-a-sims-life/
I’m glad it helps!
I don’t really understand what happens after this. If you have more babies after this, do they just age normally and then just die after becoming seniors? Or can you choose when to age them and there are no more quests with time limits, besides the optional ones, like the one with the balcony?
Yes they will age up and die when they reach the end of their life but you can still age them early if you want to
Yes, this is the last main quest, the only ones after this are discovery ones
I notice the first task is ‘call a friend’ – I do not want to do or even start this quest as I don’t want my sims to auto age or die – does this mean that once I have completed the ‘in stitches’ quest this quest will start automatically (as all other life quests seem to) and I can no longer ‘call a friend’ ever again or do you have to specifically chose to ‘begin’ the quest?
Thanks.
As soon as the pop up for the quest appears (automatically once you complete in stitches) your sims will start to age.
Will your sims die as soon as they become seniors? Also can you keep babies, toddlers, teen etc. and age them when you want if you want?
No, they have about 10 days as a senior
And yes you can but that requires pausing a sims life with orbs: https://thegirlwhogames.wordpress.com/2015/10/02/the-sims-freeplay-pausing-a-sims-life/
Do you still see the sim once they’ve passed lr are theh just gone
they are gone
I haven’t started the first task for this quest but will my sims still Start aging? I didn’t want to start this quest yet I’m not ready to have my sims die.
As soon as the pop up for the quest starts your sims will begin to age
at what rate do they age (if you don’t rush them)
Toddler- 3 days
Preteen- 5 days
Teenager- 7 days
Adult- 18 days
Senior- 10 days
At what rate do babies age?
P.S. Thank you so very much for all of your information! Your blogs are so helpful! 🙂 I’m soooo sad that I did not find your post before the Sunset mall quest. That empty space iritates me daily. 😦
Babies last for 5 days before they age![:/](https://s0.wp.com/wp-content/mu-plugins/wpcom-smileys/uneasy.svg)
You’re very welcome! Oh that is annoying
Haii Will u still need bday cakes that cost 5 lp still or will that cost simoleons as well?
no you don’t need cakes any longer, sims will age automatically but they will still cost 5LPs
After this quest i must still buy birthday cake?
no you don’t need cakes any longer, sims will age automatically
Hi, the previous quests did not require a senior sim to complete the tasks but for this quest do we need to already have a senior sim to complete all the tasks? Or can we use any age sim?
no you don’t need a senior because one of your adults becomes a senior during this quest
Once your sim dies can you just add another sim or what happens once they die. Are we just left without sims? Btw thanks for all your info very helpful 😄
Yes you can add another sim once that sim dies
You’re welcome
Is this worth it? Do you find the game better having them all aging? Also, if I don’t play for a few days is it possible most of my town will be dead? Do sims still take 24 hours to be created?
It depends really, I have got used to it now but a lot of people still don’t like it, I wouldn’t say it makes the game better, its just different
No, your sims will not die when you aren’t on the game and only baby sims take 24 hours to create, adults appear straightaway
My Sims don’t age automatically
And where can I find my seniors again I miss him he go to a cycle or something like that
If your senior sim has passed on, which I believe he has because you can’t find him anyone then your sims are ageing automatically.
Hi i have sell My life orb Can i get IT back and IF i Can get IT back how?
If you sell a life orb you cannot get it back
Hi I’m stuck on the life dreams and legacy quest have a baby, do I have to buy one? Please help
yes you need to place a crib in the house of a married couple and add a baby
The last task is to add a baby, is that one with LP or simoleons. Or are they only created using simoleons after the quest is finished?
The baby will be free if you wait until you get the goal, if you start early it will cost 3Lps
Help! I am on the Have a Baby step in the life dreams quest. I have placed the crib in the home of a married couple and I cant get the add baby option sim to come over the crib. I have two open population spots, What do I do? Thanks.
how many sims are living in that house right now? As only 4 sims can live in a house at one time, so a married couple can only have 2 children
Hi! Love this blog-Really helpful info on The Sims Freeplay. I know there are other questions similar to this, but, can you still use bday cakes?-I have about 6 of them, and am on the quilting hobby quest. Will I need to use them before this quest is up, or can I still use them after the life dreams and legacies quest? Thanks (apologies if this is too long)
Thanks! Yes you can still use birthday cakes but I wouldn’t recommend baking any new ones, although you will still be able to
This is very helpful! Is there enough time to complete the quest in the given time limit or is it pretty tight for timing? I’m at ‘Have a scientific breakthrough in the bath’ and it takes 7 hours so I’m wondering if I will be able to get the singing salmon…
There is definitely enough time to complete this quest without using LPs
Hi i have got a little question. When your sim dies, afterwards does its ghost come back or anything that has to do with the sim comes back? Because thats what happens in the sims 3 and 4 (Which i play) or do the sims just go away and thats IT?
Once a sim dies, it is gone, it doesn’t come back as a ghost
I finished the previous, quilting quest, unlocked the hobby and bought the quilting kit, and stopped 3% into the Lifestyles & Legacies quest. My Sims are not aging (thank goodness.) Did they change the game afterwards to make it so that Sims age even if you don’t complete the Lifestyles & Legacies quest?
No they still age, some updates they start ageing as soon as the quest starts and other times it starts when you open the age controller so this update the ageing must start when you open the age controller
Hey everyone! I don’t really know if this is a glitch or anything, but I found something out.
I had two seniors in one house, and Senior A was Moving On, so the grim reaper came. After Senior A was gone, the grim reaper actually stayed and hung out around the house! But I couldn’t interact with him or anything. He simply went about the house and sat or something. Senior B was very close to Moving On, so the next day when Senior B had to go, the grim reaper did his business and only then did he completely left the house. Huh, maybe he stays around if he knows somebody else is very close to moving on? idk lol
The grim reaper was still there because your second senior was almost ready to move on, he will turn up just before a senior sim is about to die and if another one is almost there he will wait around.
Your blog has been extremely helpful and I love it! I wish I would have read this before I finished this quest. Otherwise I would have not completed it at all. I think it really stinks having your Sims all age automatically. Now a bunch of my Sims will be seniors soon. You would have to go through a lot of LP’s or real money to keep them from aging. The game designer did an injustice to the players. Yet I don’t want to restart the game because I like my town. Very unhappy! I wish the aging process could be turned off. And not just 1 orb.
How can I stop aging a toddler (forever)? Is it possible?![:/](https://s0.wp.com/wp-content/mu-plugins/wpcom-smileys/uneasy.svg)
Thank you!
This post explains the only way to pause a sims life forever: https://thegirlwhogames.wordpress.com/2015/10/02/the-sims-freeplay-pausing-a-sims-life/
I’m really scared to do this quest. I’m on level 30 and still hasn’t done it. I really don’t want my sims to die or all that,, but I just want to have full control over my sims, and I can’t buy any LPs to stop them from aging, should I do this quest? I’m afraid I might ruin the game.
You sound like you have already made a decision about whether to do this quest or not, if you don’t want your sims to die you don’t have to do this quest
Thank you for your post and the constant re answering you do! My question on this quest is: Do you know- If I’m at my (at the moment) max for the town for Sim count, should I wait for available limit to create a sim to increase, before starting this quest? I want to finish in time and not have to delay by waiting to “add a baby”.
If anyone knows- please advise. I’m at 29/29 Sim count and very soon I’l be able to add a sim if I choose.
You’re welcome! You should be able to add a baby when your senior sim passes on in the quest (as they will decrease the sim count) but if you want to start this goal early you can either wait until you level up or delete another sim so there is space
I need to have a baby..but the icon is not appearing above the crib.. I have woohoo my sims.. But still no luck.. Need help please..
Are they married? They need to be to have children, if they are do they already have children? As you can only have 4 sims living in a house at one time
I’m not to this quest yet, but I do have some questions. What about the houses? Do you still customize them for the sims taste? Or do you have basic furniture?
Also, if an adult Sim is only an adult for so long, can it still have a job? Or is every sims purpose to just fulfill their life dream? With such fast Aging how do you have time to do anything?
And do the weekly tasks Change (like do the objectives only focus on life dreams or things that automatically come with autoaging) after completing this quest?
Thanks!! Xoxo
The houses you already have don’t get deleted when your sims die so yes I still customise them
Well most of the life dreams I give my adult sims are the ones that are sending them to work, so you can complete the life dream and also earn money at the same time. You do have time after they complete their life dreams for that stage though to do other things as it shouldn’t take them the whole of every life stage
No weekly tasks don’t change, they are the same throughout as they are the same for everyone
You’re welcome!
For those wondering wheter they should do this quest or not, I’d say do it! I was afraid at first, so I just stopped using my favorite sims for a while until I could give them orbs and make them live forever (they age based on all the xp they generate, not on time, so if you just leave them alone they will eventually stink and pee themselves, but they pretty much won’t age. And you can make them use the singing salmon every now and them, if you are bothered by sad sims, since the singing salmon will generate less xp than manually inspiring them, but they’ll age bit). But sadly before I could get any platinum orbs, my old phone broke, the new one had a different OS and I started over. I am now on the seniors quest and I just can’t wait to do the life dreams and legacies, it changes the game so much. Of course I got detached from most of my sims, but you can always keep your favorite ones, and that will make them even more special.
Hi Magic! I have been reading your blog while playing sims free play for more than a year now. You give wonderful tips and i wanna congratulate you for that.
I do like to ask your opinion regarding which kind of Sim is best knowing they will gonna die after becoming senior. Is it better to add a sim baby which allows me time and chances to complete his dreams or add straight an adult so he can work right away and earn simoleons? Does letting my sims marry and improve their hobbies better than just letting them complete their dreams single mindedly? I dont think they have time to do all those, work, hobby, dreams, relationship, etc.
Thank you!
I always add adults to complete life dreams, that way I can just have 2 life dreams throughout their life instead of having to have loads for all the younger stages, it does take longer from the adult as they have to build up all the previous stages as an adult but for entertainer, geeky and sporty you can choose the send to work life dreams so you can earn money at the same time.
No married sims don’t complete hobbies and quicker or better, I don’t bother getting sims married while completing life dreams as it just seems a waste of money, marrying them then they die. Once I have all platinum orbs to pause my sims I will start to rebuild my town and marry sims again.
I’m sorry if you’ve answered this elsewhere (I couldn’t find mention of it, but if you have please just link me to the page so you don’t have to write it out again!), but if we HAVEN’T completed this quest yet, can Sims die of neglect? I will be traveling for about a month with limited free time and Internet access, and am planning to ignore the game altogether during that time. Is is possible for my Sims or animals to die in the meantime, or will they just be very unhappy when I come back? Thank you!
No, sims will not die if you don’t play the game for a while and pets cannot die at all
So i couldnt use my tablet for a few days. So now when i try to get my sim to debunk age of relativity. It just wont let them do the action. So its impossible to complete the quest. What do i do. I have two sims and only one has the option to use the debunk with a teaset.
You need to use the sim that you gave the life dream to in this quest
When i do it gives little footsteps and wont let them go to teaset

Is there a way to build buildings on the Mysterious Island without completing this quest? I love my Sims and I don’t want them to die, but at the same time, I want access to buildings on the island. What do you suggest? You are more experienced with Sims Freeplay than I am, so I think you’ll have good advice!
No sorry, you will be unable to build the pet park, carnival, beach or arcade if you do not complete this quest so if you don’t want your sims to die its not possible unfortunately
I completed the life dreams and legacies. Now I do not get anymore fun quests such as the halloween or Christmas. I am dissapointed. Will the quests start up again? I also wish they would age slower. By the time they perfect a hobby they age or die.
You will get these quests if you update your game to the latest version, this quest doesn’t stop the seasonal events from appearing.
How much does a baby cost after this quest?
simoleons, the cost depends on how many sims you already have in your town.
hay, Im having trouble with the life and legacies quest. I’ve started it. i chose a personality for my senior sim “stratigize chess on a chessboard as often as possible” but when i click on the chess board it only comes up with “play chess”, ive done that about 50 times and the percentage hasn’t change its stayed on 0%, I’ve tried using the chessboard at home, in another sims home and at the park.. Am i doing something wrong? please help
p.s i love you blog, its so amazing. I’ve showed all my friends who play simsfp your blog, including my boyfriend and mum lol.. We all love your site and hope to hear more of your amazing advice 🙂 really appreciate all the work you’ve done for all of us thanks your amazing
That is strange, I have just given my senior the life dream to see if I was having the same problem but on the chessboard at the park I get play chess- 10 minutes (that doesn’t work to complete the life dream), strategize- 3 hours and strategize harder- 6 hours. Are you definitely using the senior you gave that life dream to? If you are I don’t know what else to suggest, you may need to contact EA to see if they can help, sorry!
Thank you 🙂 sorry I couldn’t be more help!
Can u please tell me what are the limited prizes in which u unlock houses like the basement King quest u unlock did home like that P.S ur blog is very helpful I finished peaceful patios and I got worried that I didn’t get the balcony quest then I saw here that u get it after 24 hours😬😬😬
Ocean View Estate unlocks the beachside property, Basement of Kings unlocks the DIY home, Saved by the Spell unlocks the wizards cottage and complete the salsa dancing hobby in the time limit to unlock the Villa
Is there a way to stop the sims ageing, cause I finished the quest but didn’t knew that it would continue. And would rather keep my sims??
yes, this post explains pausing a sims life: https://thegirlwhogames.wordpress.com/2015/10/02/the-sims-freeplay-pausing-a-sims-life/
Hi! I was wondering if you get a life orb after you complete this quest? Thanks a bunch!
Yes you get a silver geeky orb
I love this page!! Thank you for all you do 🙂
Thanks and you’re welcome!
I need to know, do I have to build the Snow Park before this quest??? I was hoping to put that off as long as possible because it costs so much for me. (500 000 simoleons and I usually only make just under 100 000) please and thank you for your answer!
You need to build the snow park before the seniors quest: https://thegirlwhogames.wordpress.com/2014/01/28/the-sims-freeplay-seniors-quest/ as you need to go to the snow park during that quest.
Sucks for me, thanks for your answer I guess I’ll start getting to that!
Hi, there is something I have been wondering. I was told that they took out the dying feature. Is that true? If so, how do you get life orbs?
No, they haven’t removed the dying feature
I don’t have a personality selector anywhere…. Checked the wardrobe and went to create a sim… Just got DNA, clothes and store tabs. Nearly completed LD&L quest. Will it appear after that?
you have to complete the quest first.
Hello, I love your blog, it’s so helpful. I’m currently on the bird feeding quest. I don’t want to do automatic aging so I plan on just not doing the life dreams quest. I hear the automatic aging starts at step 7 of this quest, if I don’t participate at all, will my Sims not age? Or should I just stop where I am now to avoid it?
I wouldn’t start the quest at all if you don’t want your sims to age because they do change it sometimes so your sims start ageing as soon as the quest begins so it is a good idea to stop at least on the in stitches quest to make sure.
Thank you for responding so quickly!
That stinks, I was hoping to get the quilting hobby. Thank you though!
