This quest unlocks the ability to age your toddlers to preteens! There is no time limit for this quest so I would recommend you stay on this quest for a while and save up some money for future quests

- Build Simtown Elementary- price and time varies (need more money?)
- Purchase a study desk- costs S700 (DO NOT BUY EARLY)
- Purchase a preteen bookshelf- costs S4,000 (DO NOT BUY EARLY)
- Read Harriet Putter- 4 hours (preteen bookshelf)
- Read ‘Everything You Need To Know’- 5 minutes (preteen bookshelf)
- Buy a preteen bed (DO NOT BUY EARLY)
- Buy a trampoline- costs S3,000 (DO NOT BUY EARLY)
- Celebrate the trampoline- 7 minutes 12 seconds
- Make cheese and tomato on toast- 1 minute
- Watch a movie on TV- 1 hour 40 minutes (can be started early)
- Ask advice from the thinking man- 19 hours 30 minutes (statue in park)
- Be rude to the thinking man- 57 seconds
- Play sims on a computer- 48 minutes (can be started early)

I have missed this quest! Why can’t I start it yet?
You cannot miss main quests they have to be completed in order. You need to complete all previous quests (list can be found here) and reach level 15 before you can start this quest
Can I complete this quest even though I have passed level 15?
Yes, you just need to complete all previous quests then this quest will start automatically
I can’t afford simtown elementary, how can I earn more simoleons?

Can I build the elementary school early?
No, you cannot build the elementary school until you get the goal in this quest
I already have one of the items it wants me to buy in this quest, will I have to buy them again?
Yes you will do, but don’t buy them before you get the goal
Why do blue footprints appear when I try to use an item?
Blue footprints appear when your sim cannot access an item you want them to use, you need to either rotate the item or move an item that has been placed in front of it so they can use it
How do I make cheese on toast?
Select cooking on a stove, make sure you have a toaster at that house to use or you will not be able to make cheese on toast
What do you mean when you say a goal can be started early?
Any goal that you can normally do can be started early because you will have access to it and any goal that you can’t normally do you will have to wait until you get the goal to be able to complete it
The tip with this method is to put the sim doing that action early in a different house that you cannot go to until you get that goal or it will not work
I have played the sims on a computer but it doesn’t complete the goal, why?
Are you sure you are playing the sims, not sim city?
I don’t like this quest! Can I just skip it?
No, you have to complete this quest before you can move onto the next one
Some times are slightly different on my game, why is this?

It depends on how many buildings you have, I didn’t put on there how much it cost to build mine because everyone comments to say that it isn’t the same for them

You need to bake a cake then you can click on the toddler and click have birthday
Can we bake the birthday cake early?
yes but you don’t need one for this quest.

What do you mean by ‘(can be started early)’
You can bake the gingerbread when you start the previous task so you only have to wait 2 hours for the gingerbread once that task is done instead of 6 hours

Can you age your sim without using lp?
Once you start the legacies and life dreams quest at level 24 your sims will age automatically
But I’m past levels 25 and don’t have that aging thing yet. Am I just moving up more slowly?
You may just be on a previous quest and are levelling up quicker than you are completing quests, nothing to worry about, you will get it soon

Heyy so I was on level 11 for and I was doing the quest to turn my baby into a toddler and I finished it 🙂 but then I updated sims. So now I’m on the need for steed quest, but now I’m on level 13 and I’m still on the need for steed quest. I don’t know how but I guess I was planting too much to earn money to build the barn :(. Is this a problem?? Would I be able to get the preteen quest before leveling up to level 14? Thanx in advance. I really like your posts, it helps me every time I have a problem with my sims.
the need for steed quest appeared because you are level 11 or over, when you finish that you will get the next quest (look at your goal tab, you will see the queue of quests that are waiting) the next quest will start when you complete the need for steed quest. I am on level 41 now, I have just got the need for steed quest because I have completed all of the other quests, so it really doesn’t matter what level you are on, the levels are only there to give some order to the game so you don’t have all the quests at once.

I want to grow a toddler into a pre-teen but it says I can’t because I have to finish a quest ‘preparing for preteens’ on level 15, but

Same situation. I didn’t finished the level 15 which is the PREPARING FOR PRETEENS. I’m level 22 now. I want to make my toodler to preteen. How am i going to finish the level 15 if i’m level 22?
That’s not how it works, the quest unlocks at level 15 but if you are still on a previous quest it will appear once all those have been complete, if you look in the goals tab you will see it says quests in queue and preparing for preteens will probably be on there.

If you don’t complete in time you won’t get the prize, You have as long as you want to actually do the quest.

I want to unlock the teen idol mansion but it says to get my sim town to level 3 how do I do that and how much does it cost please help?
You need to find the materials to build the sign from doing the teen idol hobby or using LPs, once you have upgraded it to level 3 you can build the teen mansion, the first one is free
On the party boat daily rewards, do you get more of a prize if you have more neighbors or more experienced neighbors? Thnx 🙂
you get more prizes the more neighbours you have, but you can only have 100 🙂

Hi, I just got finished being rude to the thinking man and once completed I never got the task to play Sims on a computer. My quest still says be rude to thinking man even though I just completed it. I’m on the social task where you have to play frisbee with a dog and I’m looking for a neighbor with a frisbee and dog. My Game Center name is kmaster1256. Even if u don’t have those things I’ll still add anyone;)
I have a dog and frisbee. Gamecenter name is thecinnamingirl, and my courtesy house is just north of the park with the pink roof.
For me, it costed 20,000. I pretty sure it’s different for everyone else considering how much buildings they own and houses and other stuff too. I pretty much have all buildings, so I think the highest it goes to is 20,000. I hope I helped!

You need to play the sims on a computer in the game, buy a computer from the electronics section and select the option to play the sims
I was doing a weekly quest. It said add a new sim to town I have added to new sims to town and for some reason it doesn’t clear it. Do you have any idea why this could be.

Thank you for the useful information! In the earlier comment you said that we don’t need birthday cake to age toddler into preteen after this quest ends, but I just finished this quest and apparently I need to bake birthday cake to age the toddler 😦 the problem is I’m running out of lp
What I mean is that if you want your toddler to be a toddler for a while longer you don’t need to bake a birthday cake yet, there isn’t a goal to do this. But if you want them to become a preteen then yes you need a birthday cake.

You have to wait as you wont have that option until you get the goal

preteen bed: 1,500-3,000 (depending on which one you buy)
trampoline: 3,000- 12LPs (depending on which one you buy)
