The Sims Freeplay- A Bump-y Ride Quest

Early Access to Beta Provided by EA/ Firemonkeys

LEVEL UNLOCKS: 8 UNLOCKS: pregnancy and pregnancy events

Pregnancy has arrived in simtown! Once you complete the Two and a Half Sims Quest you will be able to build the maternity store in simtown from level 8 (you can find it next to the real estate agency and near the mall) once the store is built this quest will begin. When you complete the quest you unlock pregnancy so your female adult sims will grow a baby bump!

You cannot complete this quest at the same time as any other discovery quest

The price for building the maternity store will vary depending on how many businesses you have already built

In this quest you will be completing the pregnancy event, there is a 9 day time limit for this event and if you complete in the time limit you will unlock the baby bonus but you can still complete this once the time limit is up.

  • Have a Doctor explain pregnancies- 30 seconds (call a Doctor using a phone, they will appear at that house so you can select the option)

  • Talk pregnancies with a sim- 30 seconds

  • Purchase the maternity outfit from the maternity store- black and grey outfit costs 500 maternity tokens

NOTE: your sims can only wear the maternity clothes when they have a baby bump (check out my maternity store post here)

Once this quest is over you can still earn maternity tokens to buy all the items from the maternity store by completing another pregnancy event!

  • Place empty crib- buy one from the infant section of the home store

  • Start the pregnancy event- for this you need an adult female, this event takes 9 days! Click on the crib and select the pregnancy event option and then select the adult female who you want to become pregnant:

  • Select sim icon- click on the pregnancy event button in the corner of the screen then click on the picture of your sim

  • View pregnancy daily goals- head back to the pregnancy event tab

Daily goals have to be completed by the pregnant sim, no other sim can complete these goals. Your sim has 9 days of goals to complete, you don’t have to finish a days goals on time, if you are behind you will start on the next day as soon as the previous days goals are complete BUT you cannot complete day 9 once the time is up, the baby will be born straight away once the time is up and you will only get the baby bonus if all goals and tasks are completed before the time is up (keep reading for more information). Completing pregnancy events earns maternity tokens used to buy maternity clothes and nursery furniture from the maternity store.

  • View pregnancy support tasks- head back to the pregnancy event tab

Support tasks can be completed by any sim, you need to complete all support tasks and daily tasks within the 9 day time limit to earn the baby bonus

  • View baby bonus- go back to the pregnancy event tab and click on the ‘i’ icon above the picture on the event tab

If you complete all the daily goals every day and all the support tasks you will earn bonuses for that baby, they will earn more experience points when they complete actions, complete actions faster, are not affected by low motives (low needs) and they will have these bonuses for life!

  • Complete the pregnancy event

You need to complete all 9 days of daily goals and support tasks to earn the baby bonus, once the 9 days are up you will no longer get the baby bonus but your sim will still give birth. The 9 days symbolise a month a day so once you complete day 3 and start day 4 your sim will reach the 2nd trimester and their baby bump will appear, they will then start wearing the maternity clothes you brought earlier in this quest. Once you complete day 6 and start day 7 they will reach the 3rd trimester and their baby bump will get bigger

NOTE: I know I said in my video that appointments aren’t going to be in the update but I misunderstood when they told me appointments were going to be removed- they were talking about the aerobic and ultrasound appointments not the doctors appointment which is still available, sorry about that!

TIP: If you cannot afford the simoleons for the appointments select the LP option instead, this post may help if you need to earn some LP quickly!

Stuck on a daily goal or support task? Check out my list here that explains how to complete each goal!

If you don’t manage to complete this event in the time limit you will miss out on the baby bonus but the baby will still be born!

QUEST IS COMPLETE!

Pregnancy has now been unlocked on the crib, so you now have two pregnancy options:

  • Pregnancy Event– you have 9 days to complete all the daily goals and support tasks to earn the baby bonus and maternity tokens for the baby is born
  • Pregnancy– takes 6 days but there are no daily goals or tasks to complete, your sim will just grow a baby bump and then give birth after the 6 days!

  1. Thank you for posting this, as always you are a TREMENDOUS HELP in getting through these!!!

Not sure yet how i feel about the changes but i am super excited about the babies having a lifetime of needs being fulfilled IF i have the time to devout to completing the required tasks to make that happen. We’ll see gow this goes, i guess.

Thank you again. God bless you and Happy Simming. 😁

  2. I”m a little confused. If you get maternity tokens through pregnancy, but this quest is required to unlock it, are you given the tokens needed to purchase the outfit in this quest?

  3. Thanks again for these walkthroughs. Is this something that we can start later or is the pregnancy event (with rewards and tokens, as opposed to bump only) itself only a limited time? The EA website describes it a “A Bump-y Road Discovery Quest: 8-day event starting June 19 (AEST)”. If we don’t start soon, are we missing out, or can we get the full experience later? Or is this like the island (house, which can be started whenever you are ready to do so?

  4. Hi! I am so appreciative of your ideas and the time/effort you put into all things Sims! 🙂 My Sims have been having babies for a couple of years, so shouldn’t I see the Maternity Store on my map? Am I forgetting something?
Thank you and God bless you!

  5. If i don#t do this quest now, can I still do it, in say.. 2 months later? Bcs I’m a bit busy now 😦

  6. Have you had trouble with the game freezing when your support tasks hit 17% completion? I saw it somewhere else but didn’t think it would happen to me. But it did! Anyone know if there is a fix on the horizon?

  7. Is it really normal that my game was crushing every time I open the maternity button? I’m a little confuse 😦

  8. Does each day of the pregnancy restart at midnight or does it restart at the time you started the quest? (Example, I started my day 1 at 7am today. Will my day 2 start at 7am tomorrow?)

  9. I have missed the bump-y ride quest, will I able to do the quest again if I build the maternity store? Thankyou.

  10. Hey…so about the new update…when I downloaded the update it completely opened as a new icon and game set up…luckily I had saved my data on cloud so could retrieve it..then when I am in the event of the bumby ride I am stuck in the last trimester of the sim..the game operates other than the event…if I click the event tab..it simply opens the window but I can’t click on the tabs any further..have tried re-download and everything but doesn’t work…plz help…

  11. There’s not an option to build a new business in my town…i do have the update, have completed the two and a half sims long ago, I just don’t know how to start this quest

    • The maternity store should be next to the real easte agency on the same side of simtown as the mall, if you can’t find it make sure you have the latest update, I know you said you already have it but it might not have updated properly the first time

  12. My sim has been pregnant for two days now. I’m in the UK and her daily goals aren’t refreshing until about 6pm in the evening?
I can’t stay up all night to complete them? What do I do?

  13. I’m sorry but I didn’t finish my question.
Can more than one SIM do the Bump-y Ride quest at the same time?

  14. I have the new update and the appointment was still a requirement costing me 138,000 simleons. I was under the impression this would go away as that was what it sounded like in the video. Why do I still have to pay that much?

  15. I’m stuck on a step when you need to purchase maternity clothes in a newly open store but when I push “buy” it says you can’t cause you have not enough tokens. I have zero tokens and it wants me to buy a 500 tokens clothes… 😦

    • If you still don’t have these tokens and have downloaded the fix update you will need to contact the makers to see if they can fix this issue for you, they are aware of this issue so hopefully if they haven’t fixed it already they are working on a fix

  16. Can we have a pregnancy event and a live event like the day care event at the same time or will the pregnancy event prevent other live events from showing up?

Thanks for your great blog. It is incredibly useful!

  17. Are we able to earn enough tokens to purchase all of the maternity clothes and furnitre? I’m doing the math and it doesn’t seem like it.

    • Sorry I misunderstood when they told me appointments would be removed- they were talking about the aerobic and ultrasound appointments not the doctors appointment which is still available, sorry about that!

  18. Your blog is my Sims Freeplay go to manual. It’s great!

In your Guide to Pregnancy video, I believe you said that gamers have to select the option to have a baby after the 9 day event. For the discovery quest, is it the same? The pregnant mom won’t automatically go into labor at the end of the time period: Is my understanding correct?

I want to amass as many maternity tokens as I can from the Support Tasks before the pregnant sim gives birth. That’s why I’m asking.

  19. You say in the video that they’re getting rid of the horrifically expensive appointments in the daily goals, but I still have them. Do you know what’s up with that? I probably won’t bother with pregnancy if it’s goong to cast me a million simoleons or more.

    • Sorry I misunderstood when they told me appointments would be removed- they were talking about the aerobic and ultrasound appointments not the doctors appointment which is still available, sorry about that!

  20. Is it possible to earn enough tokens to purchase all the items? Because they reward us with so few after each day. And also do we loose all items if we don’t purchase them within the 9 days?

    • You won’t earn all the maternity tokens you need from one pregnancy event, you have to complete more pregnancy events to earn more.
And no you don’t lose the items if you haven’t purchased them in the 9 days, they will be in the store until you buy them

  21. Why is it charging me lp’s or £200,000 for appointments on the new baby quest? Considering the effort needed to complete this event is ridiculous, I find it seriously annoying. P.s thank you for your blog I use it alllllll the time 😁

    • I know the price is ridiculously high for these appointments! I misunderstood when they said they were removing the appointments- I was hoping they would be reducing the price and fixing it for a future update but it turns out they were keeping the doctors appointment that expensive!!

  22. Hello. I’m on the first day and one of the daily goals says: APPOINTMENT: Use a Phone to call a doctor to your home to check on the babys progress. I use the Phone and call the doctor over, and get two options when I talk to her, but they both seem to cost money or LPs. Os this gong to be a very expencive baby, or am I doping it wrong?

    • I know the price is ridiculously high for these appointments! I misunderstood when they said they were removing the appointments- I was hoping they would be reducing the price and fixing it for a future update but it turns out they were keeping the doctors appointment that expensive!!

  23. In your video it said they would get rid of the pricy appointments, but they didn’t any suggestions on how to get more simeoans and LP

  24. Hello! Thanks for the post, it is super helpful. You mentioned in you video walk through that they would be removing the Appointments from the daily goals. Just want to let you know that they still have the Appointments in the daily goals for the pregnant Sim.

    • Sorry I misunderstood when they told me appointments would be removed- they were talking about the aerobic and ultrasound appointments not the doctors appointment which is still available, sorry about that!

  25. I’m stuck on the task “Take a relaxing walk around the Park lake”; I’ve whistled her over to the park, tapped on everything I could think of including her and I still can’t figure out how to make her complete it. A little help would be greatly appreciated.

  26. This is very frustrating. I still have the yoga appointment on day two, and it won’t move me on to day three tasks until I finish day two’s tasks. I don’t want to have to spend a couple hundred simoleons every day for the next week! I had hoped to be able to earn a few tokens each day by doing all but the appointments. Now my sim is stuck in pregnancy, earning nothing (she can’t go to work, either), for nothing.

  27. I’ve tried lots of different Sims practicing preparing formula but I have nothing to show. What am I doing wrong? Please help

  28. Question: are you supposed to get the tokens above each section of the support tasks? I just hit my first mark which had a token value above it but nothing happened…or is it a running total you get in the end? I’m confused.

  29. Thanks for your blog! I love it! Looks even more time consuming for this event. I’m on Day 2. Looks like we’d hsve to give up sleep to complete it. Haha. Glad I have SP’s. Just hope I have enough!

  30. Meant to ask this in my last post, but can we make more than one sim pregnant? Like say, all of them? I think that’d be a great help!

  31. I am not sure what time I started my 9 day event. I am close to ending day one, and the number 2 is now highlighted in a soft pink. Any way for me to know how much time I have before day 2 starts?

  32. Does anyone know how to take a selfie by the bathroom sink something like that because I’m trying and it won’t let me
