The Sims Freeplay- Completing a Pregnancy Event [TIPS & MY EXPERIENCE]

The makers of The Sims Freeplay have recently increased the amount of sims needed to complete the support tasks in pregnancy events, they were hard enough anyway so I wanted to see if it was possible to complete a 9 day pregnancy event now. Below you can find a list of the daily goals and support tasks I had to complete each day and my times for completing them but firstly I wanted to share some tips on how to complete pregnancy events in the time limit to earn the baby bonus.

Check out my Guide to Pregnancy if you want to know more about how to start pregnancy events

Tips for Completing Pregnancy Events:

  • Start the pregnancy event at a time you will be able to open the game every day, for example if you start at 6pm on the Thursday you will need to complete all the goals for day 1 before 6pm on the Friday to keep on track and because you have 24 hours if you can start the next day at exactly 6pm you have a better chance of completing the goals in the 24 hour period.
  • Complete the daily goals in the order best for you, you don’t have to complete them in the order shown so take a look at each daily goal on the list (stuck on how to complete a daily goal? click here to see my list of daily goals and support tasks)- if you can check back soon do a short one but if you are going to bed do a longer one
  • Have as many sims as possible completing the support tasks at the same time (they have made this so much harder recently by increasing the amount of sims needed) if the task needs 15 sims then if you have 15 sims free make sure you use them all to complete the task at the same time (don’t use the pregnant sim though, they need to complete all the daily goals) make sure you check a few times that you have enough sims completing the task so you don’t have to waste any time redoing the task for one sim you missed!
  • Have all your sims completing the support tasks in the same two houses with all the items you need, this way you aren’t wasting any time between tasks:

  • Set a timer on your phone for when the task will complete so you know when to check back in and start the next one
  • Use 3 star items (if possible) 3 star items give you the shortest amount of time to complete the task (I was using 2 star computers and phones for the support tasks but you will save yourself a few minutes if you can use only 3 star items)
  • Keep an eye on the support tasks milestones bar, it should be in line with where you are on the daily goals so you know you are on track:

I have documented my experience completing a pregnancy event below to give you some idea of the sort of goals you will get but remember that the tasks and times will differ for you, you will get any combination of goals from this list

ST= Support Tasks (these tasks are completed by any sim, all these have to be completed a number of times)
DG= Daily Goals (these have to be completed by the pregnant sim)

Day 1– 9:12am

ST– Sew Clothes: 15 times-3 hours 20 minutes

I was completing the Daring Do’s Event so I had to stop this with most of my sims to start the support tasks

DG– Consider Simvitation designs for the baby shower on a couch- 1 hour

10:13am DG– Throw up in a toilet. Thank you morning sickness!- 1 hour 50 minutes

12.14pm DG– Doctor’s appointment- 3 hours 15 minutes (cost S582,059 or 13LP)

I had to use another sim who was completing the Daring Do’s Event to have 8 pairs of sims completing this this time around. I am already frustrated with how ridiculous they have made this task, this was before the patch update that was meant to make this task easier but you will see later on after the patch was meant to happen I got the exact same task again

3:31pm DG– Relax on a couch and consider baby names- 2 hours 40 minutes

5:17pm ST– 8 sims finished ‘Share parenting advice with another sim’, need to complete 8 more times now

12:23am ST (76% complete) Share parenting advice with another sim: 16 times- 4 hours 35 minutes

AGAIN this task required 16 pairs of sims (32 sims in total) which is more sims than I had available and more sims than most people have in their town! I got this goal after the patch update was meant to be released so I am annoyed that it still requires so many sims, I’m guessing they only changed it for those who needed 20 sims to complete this task. 16 pairs of sims is still unreasonable and I am still going to need to complete this twice! I put 10 pairs of sims on to complete this so let’s just hope it doesn’t glitch this time!!

I am completely amazed that I actually managed to complete this pregnancy event in the time limit, it was a very long 9 days and to be honest I was a bit fed up with the whole thing from day 1 when I got the share parenting advice goal and my annoyance continued throughout the week especially each time I woke up in the middle of the night to complete a task. I was able to complete this event without any SP as I could freely check the game most of the time during the 9 days, if I was having a normal week then this would not have been at all possible. For the average player I just cannot see how this is at all achievable, it was bad enough before but now they have increased the amount of sims needed for all the support tasks and increased the cost of the Doctor’s appointments and Yoga Sessions it seems to be impossible without spending SP- which is obviously the point! I don’t know what is going on at EA right now but this game is becoming as money grabbing as The Sims Mobile, I know that they need to make money to pay their staff but making events impossible pushes players away, it does not make them spend money.

Will I be completing another Pregnancy Event anytime soon? No! I think I might actually dislike them more than live events and that is saying something!

Baby Bonus Explained

As I completed all the Daily Goals and Support Tasks in the time limit my new baby has earned the baby bonus which means they complete actions faster and earn more XP and they also don’t suffer from low motives which means if they won’t be grumpy if their needs haven’t been fulfilled. They keep these bonuses for life and you can tell if a sim has the baby bonus as there is a gold ring around their picture on the simtracker:

  1. I feel your frustration. I am very upset at the moment, because I completed my support team tasks, spent a lot of real money for the Dr and Yoga appts and because I didn’t open the game before the time ran out, I didn’t get the prize. I don’t think that’s fair, if you’ve completed all the goals needed, the prize should be waiting when you open the game.
    NOT COOL 😡🤬

    • That’s so frustrating and unfair!!! I would try contacting firemonkeys if I were you. I’d tell them I earned that prize fair and square and want some type of compensation!!!

  2. I finished the 9-day pregnancy event for the first Bonus Pack, and I certainly agree that it was more difficult. I got the share parenting advice support task also, but for me, it was share parenting advice with 20 Sims, so a total of 40 Sims. I can only have 36 Sims in my town at the moment, and of course some are babies, preteens, and teens, so it was impossible to do in one shot. It was very brutal, but I did finish everything in time and received the bonus pack.
I started a second pregnancy event for the next Bonus Pack, and I am on day 9 today. I didn’t know that an update had come out to make it easier, but my second one was quite a bit better. I was actually able to finish all the support tasks on day 7 and just had to finish the tasks with the pregnant Sim for the last 2 days after that. With the support tasks that time, the largest number of Sims I needed for a task was 19, and there were only one or two of those. Many of the tasks use 18 Sims, but there were a few that used less, one actually only requiring 12 Sims. I did get ithe share parenting advice task that time, but it was only for 9 Sims, for a total of 18 Sims. I have 20 adult Sims, so I was able to do it without having to repeat.
I’m going to start a third pregnancy tomorrow for the third Bonus Pack. Hopefully, it won’t be as difficult as my first one was.
Again, love your site. It’s great to see what others are experiencing in the game. Keep up the good work!

  3. Real quick, do the daily task have to be completed at the pregnant sims house or can the be done at another sims house. I really don’t want to have to move all my sim’s 3-star stuff from house to house and it would be easier for my pregnant sim to just do the daily tasks at a diffrent sims house, but I’m worried I’ll ruin my game by doing it at another sim’s house, so do they have to absolutely be done at the pregnant sims house or can I have my pregnant sim do it at another sims house for all 9 days. TY

  4. I have yet to build the maternity store and this makes less inclined to spend the 1Mil it will cost to get started. =/

  5. “making events impossible pushes players away, it does not make them spend money”
I was excited for the new maternity items when the update promo showed them. But the 20 Sim requirements for support tasks while there are other events going on? Okay, sure, it might be doable, but it turns the game into a 9 day grind with timers and potentially money spending. So much for “Freeplay”.
The sad thing is that I barely opened the game at all since I tried the first pregnancy event and it’s because of how hard they made it. 😦

Thank you for the work you put into this post (and all others)! It’ll be helpful if I ever decide to try for the pregnancy event again. Might be a while though.

  6. I don’t like pregnancy events either. I especially hate time limited events, so these new prizes absolutely not motivate me. I can’t play all day and prefer to sleep át night, so I don’t have a chance to claim the big prize anyway.

  7. Does the developer listen to such detailed feedback like that? I’m doing a pregnancy event now after finding the original version of it too consuming of real-life and was thinking that it seemed even more invasive. Thank you for confirming my suspicions!

Ugh, time to go check in on them again. This is not fun, so I think I will just ignore this part of the game again. 🙂

      • I hope they listen. I have completed the DG, and I’m at 88% on the ST. Some of the Goals/tasks have changed from what you have detailed, but this pregnancy event is incredibly onerous to complete. Especially the support tasks. It’s impossible to avoid spending money to get the SPs to timely finish. I’d I’m playing the “better version” it’s still a pain I won’t do it again anytime soon.

    • I’m completing a pregnancy event now and on day two. This is my fourth one. It took me a very long time to start the second one as the first was so hellish. I’m finding them a little easier now after updates but wouldn’t you know it, a live event started yesterday… literally about 8 hours after I started the pregnancy event. So now I’m crafting and “pregnancy eventing” and my days are a sea of timers and alarms. My own fault for thinking “hmmm the Japan event hasn’t started might as well do a pregnancy”. Oh well. Something to do while in lockdown!

I definitely recommend keeping all your pregnancy support task sims on two lots. I have my crafting areas in two houses and all my pregnancy equip in two, all in basements below houses. I have an SP generating kitchen for 10 in a basement also. This allows me not to use sites solely for those purposes but have houses above ground and work spaces below. I was running out of lots to put live event prize houses on before I did this.

Love your site and your tips are great. You are my go-to girl for all things Sims Freeplay. Thanks for all your hard work and stay safe!

    • I’m new at this, I’m on day 8 on the pregnancy event and didn’t realize that I had to do the support task as well so now I’m behind the support task and won’t finish in time to get the baby bonus…my question is if I’m able to restart the pregnancy event once the baby is born. Would I be able to get the baby bonus if I start another pregnancy event?

  8. I know this is kinda crazy and all, but approximately how many social points do you need to complete the event (or most of it) by speeding up tasks. Something happened with my Cloud and long story short I ended up loosing 4 1/2 days worth of progress of my game, including all the tasks I completed for the pregnancy event. Somehow by the miracle from the sim freeplay gods, I spun 3 pumpkins on the social point flower and get 500 SP, making my total 677 SP I now have. I’m pretty sure that’s nowhere near what I need to have to speed up the entire event, but I still want to have an idea of how many SP I should work to get to to at least catch up a bit before the event ends. I currently only have 14 adult and teen sims and am only on day 3 (would originally be on day 7) and shockingly only have 15% of my support tasks done (originally had around 60% before the cloud issue). I already contacted firemonkey’s and only was revived 20 SP and 3,000 MP for my troubles and not completely sure if that’s all they could do or if they’re not going to be able to fix the issue before the event ends. So in the meantime, I want to try to complete the even as much as I can, but want to know how many SP I should try to earn with speeding up long tasks (5+ hours) or ones that require more sims then I have. TY!

    • Oh wow I wish I knew, sorry I have no idea! It would be easy if it was like LP and it was an hour for each LP but I think its 7SP per hour and it doesn’t always seem to follow that pattern, sorry about that!

  9. Wow! Did they increase the cost of the doctor’s appointments? I swear when I did it before, it was between $40,000 to $80.000 for the daily appointments, which I thought was a lot.

    • The price is different for everyone depending on the level you are on but yes it has increased along with the amount of sims you need to complete support tasks 😦

  10. I think it’s crazy that the Bumpy Ride quest unlocks at LEVEL EIGHT. I mean, come on. Unless they somehow make allowances for players at that level, with level 8 city populations! Not to mention it costs upwards of §2 million to even build the Maternity Store in the first damn place.

I am just now doing it for the first time, and I’ve been level 55 for ages. And I’m retired. Also I planned way in advance, paying attention to the calendar of upcoming events. I’ve already done everything in the Poolside Update, so my 9 days are clear of distractions. Except for weekly tasks. And Social Tasks. And the Marketplace Event for the last few Ice-Themed furniture I needed to unlock (lamps and dining table and chairs).

I had a glitch in a task too! My pregnant Sim was walking around the park, and when I went to check, she was still at 3 hours 15 minutes. I got confused and though maybe the task was longer than I remembered, but when I checked later, it was still at the same time. I cancelled it and restarted, and bizarrely enough watched the task timer count down the first minute, and when it hit 3 hours 14 minutes, it rolled back over to 15 minutes! So I just used SP to finish it, that did work.

I really really want those lamps in the Maternity furniture store though, I’m glad to read that if I complete everything I’ll earn more than enough tokens to buy them (if not everything else).

  11. Hey firstly your blog is amazing! I’m on level49 and do you think that i should do all the daily tasks every day even though I don’t have enough simoleons or lp’s? I can’t finish the ones that requires simoleons and lp’s &can’t finish daily tasks anyways.

    • Thanks! If you can’t afford to complete them then I wouldn’t waste your time on the rest of the tasks either as it really isn’t worth the effort, once the 9 day time limit is up your sim will give birth anyway, you just won’t get the baby bonus.

  12. When the pregnancy quests were first introduced, they were worthwhile due to the tasks’ large xp gains. I could easily gone up a level and a half by doing one. Since the recent changes, it’s not worth the hassle and the money( both in game and real).

  13. I am in my second round of the pregnancy quest and I stupidly updated the app. Now I have other quests and events popping up! Is there any way to delay starting any of the timed events? HANS ON is the limited time event that I want to wait on.

    • Unfortunately time limited quests don’t wait, once they start for everyone you have to complete it in a certain amount of time so even if you updated later you would have missed this quest as it was only available for a limited time.

  14. On my second pregnancy event, I have found some things that have been super helpful:

    – Before you begin set up the to-be-pregnant Sim’s house with 3 star items (fridge, stove, dining chair, bath tub, radio, computer, couch).

    – Before you begin, set up two homes that have teenagers and adults living there (no preteens, toddlers, babies). And then set those homes up with 10 each of the highest level (2 or 3 stars) you can afford of fridges, ovens, kitchen sinks, phones, couches (seat ten), computers, dining table with chairs, etc.
    – send as many Sims as each support task needs to only those 2 houses
    – teenagers can help! So make your preteens into teens!

I hope this helps everyone (who read comments).

And weightlessmagic , you ROCK chica! Thanks for all of your help!

  15. Okay. The Support Task is ridiculous. 13e – 16.5 hours to find food. And to make me have to have SP points – 23 – who knows. That requires at least 1,000 SP points.

  16. I’m reluctant to let my Sims with the pregancy bonus die since they complete tasks quicker. What is your take on that? Plus, I spent lots of money on them too. Btw your blog rocks

  17. I finished all the daily tasks, but didn’t realize the other task could be completed by anyone until day 8. Should have read this first. Anyways, my pregnant sim is still just walking around. When I click on the crib it says already adding another sim to the town. Please help

    • Thank you for this post! I definitely won’t try for the baby bonus, I’m not on day 1 and called the doctor for a check up, but don’t have the money for it. It’s not realistic that a check up cost half a million.

    • The worst thing that could happen? Live event+pregnancy event+winter wonderland

Ok i could have let the winter wonderland go, but i liked the 3star furnishing. Live event was great (my secound live event! and ive already had bought all the event items-this was the issue with my first event. i couldnt buy them right away because i had not enough sims or/and money.) so the gallery is mine <3. but the support tasks i couldnt complete -because 13sims were busy making candles and stuff the first 6days or so +1 for wonderland. And than i couldnt come far, just 71%.

I guess winterwonderland and live event were supposed to collapse but its on me that my pregnancy event came on time.

  18. Do these tasks show up on different days than listed in the walkthrough? Because I am on day one and none of those supporting tasks have showed up. Current support task is plan a baby budget, but I see that on day two and here it says 10 times at 6 hours, on mine it says 9 times for 7 hours. I know the time difference is probably related to star lvl of the chair, but why is it on day 2?

  19. Do the support tasks need to be completed before the daily tasks? I’m on day 9, with one daily task left, but 90% on support. Don’t want to end the event and lose all that work!

  20. Agree with the earlier comments – this pregnancy lark has made me hate the game. I will see it through but suspect I will take a long break after. Last time they had a bunch of events coinciding I got fed up and it was a year before I came back with a strict ‘never spending real money anymore’ policy which I have kept so I agree they are losing players of the kind who don’t mind dropping a few bucks occasionally to make it more enjoyable but don’t care for this never ending series of special items and events so many of which are not at all special, I am almost out of land plots anyway, can’t keep adding more sims so what is the point of collecting all the arts and crafts to unlock a house I won’t build? Really frustrated the glam event started early because the only reason I started the pregnancy was because I THOUGHT it would be finished before that one started, but now I am trying to do tasks using 20 sims for pregnancy, plus the pregnant sim for her daily goals plus find people to do the arts and crafts…then today some child’s play event popped up. I didn’t even look at it I just don’t care anymore. I enjoyed the Christmas quest for the most part but this is now just a drudge.

  21. If I use lifestyle points to sped up to the next day does that speed up the timer and does it still stay the same

  22. Hi.. Your blog super help me thank you! I wanna ask, is baby sims with baby sims still have baby bonus(gold ring) when they grow up?

  23. I started the quest in a hurry and didn’t really look carefully at the other tabs and stuff. So I didn’t realise there were support task until day 2 or 3. I’m currently completing Day 6 for Daily Goals and at 39% on Support Task with 3 days left to go. Does this mean I’m not going to be able to complete this event without spending LP? I didn’t think much of the event at the beginning because as I’ve mentioned I didn’t notice the tabs. So I didn’t realise I could buy the furniture packs and stuff. I’m also assuming I won’t be able to buy those since I won’t be able to get enough points?

    • Your sim will still have the baby after 9 days you just won’t get the baby bonus for completing all the tasks and goals within the time limit. You will be able to buy items using the tokens, you won’t get all tokens from one event so you will need to complete many to be able to purchase all the items from the maternity store.

  24. Hello. I would like to know how much Simoleons do I have to have to complete the pregnancy event. Thank you

  25. Currently doing the pregnancy event and I am HATING it! Several times, the sims doing support tasks haven’t actually been doing the support tasks. The amount of Sims required means I haven’t been able to send the Sims to work, so no gold income. I am on day 6, support bar only at 53% and current support task will take 15 hours! This is a horrible ‘event’. No one wants to play a game and feel they are unable to beat it in the time given – that isn’t fun, that’s just discouraging.

  26. In case my previous comment gets posted, I wanted to give an update : I was able to add the new baby and to have more sims than allowed în town.. Now it says I have 34 sims and it doesn’t show me the maximum limit anymore.

  27. Hi, I just wondering what would happen if I skip the Doctor’s appointment? Does it makes me fail the entire daily quest or just reduce the number of coins I get?

  28. My suspicion is that there is a formula calculating that you MUST use most of your sims and money /LP for the pregnancy tasks, so e.g. if you have 70.000S in your game you are required to spend 68.000 on the doctor, if it is 60.000 only 57.000 and so on. Anyhow, they are going to make you spend everything, it is meant like this. So better not own much money, haha!

  29. Hur mycket pengar behövs för detta uppdrag? Jag menar eftersom varje läkarbesök och yoga är så dyra.
Är det någon som har en ungefärlig kostnad för dessa?
