What is the maximum amount of sims you can have in one house?
4 is the maximum for living in a house at one time but you can invite other sims over and have 10 in a house or public place at once
How Many Sims Can I Have In My Town?
How do I get a sim to sleep through an alarm?
Click on bed, choose the option
How do I call a sim?
Using a phone
How do I invite a sim over?
Make sure they aren’t busy, go to the house you want them and click the whistle next to their picture
How do I use a computer?
Click on a computer in the game and choose the option you need.
I can’t add a new sim, why?
You may have reached the sim limit, you need to wait until you level up to unlock a new sim but you don’t always unlock a new sim each level.
Why can’t I add another baby?
A couple can only have 2 children as only 4 sims can live in a house at one time
A material just appeared above my sims head! What is this for?
These materials, for example granite as shown in the image below are used to upgrade the monuments on the island that you unlock during the Raiders of the Lost Artifacts Quest:
Why do blue footprints appear when I try to use an item?
Blue footprints appear when your sim cannot access an item you want them to use, you need to either rotate the item or move an item that has been placed in front of it so they can use it
Do I need a birthday cake to age a sim?
Yes you need a birthday cake to age your sim to each life stage until you complete the Life Dreams and Legacies quest where your sims age automatically
If I bake a cake early will it be there when I need it?
Yes, it will be stored until you are ready to age your sim
Can I change my sims name/ gender etc?
How do I get two sims married?
Can I make my sims friends after they become nemesis?
Yes, just be nice until they become friends again
How do I save my game?
If you log into Game Center or Facebook in the game you can save it to one or both of those to save your game to the cloud. The game will save automatically each time you collect your daily reward but you can save it manually from the settings

They need to clean the pool first and then they should do the action.

Help! I put my preteen bed in my inventory but cannot find it! Why?
If you haven’t completed the preparing for preteens quest yet you will not be able to see the preteen tab where the bed will be, once you complete the quest the bed should reappear

How much do houses, businesses or workplaces cost to build?
The price varies depending on how many other houses, business or workplaces you have already built, each time you build another one the price will increase but it will only increase for similar buildings, for example, if you build a house the price will only increase for the next house you build, it will not increase for businesses or workplaces too

How much do workplaces cost to build?
The price varies depending on how many other workplaces you have already built, each time you build another one the price will increase but it will only increase for similar buildings, for example, if you build a workplace the price will only increase for the next workplace you build, it will not increase for businesses or houses too
What is the difference between a career and a profession?
With professions you can go to work with your sims and help them out during their shift, with careers they will just go to work for a set amount of time and return when they have finished

They can’t see it because they aren’t seeing the most up to date version of your game, you need to connect to the cloud for them to see this version of your game
I can only visit Another Simtown, what items are available there?
If I skip a social task with LP will I still get the reward?
Yes you will
What items are needed to create a great social house?

Main Quests
I have missed a main quest! Why can’t I start it yet?
You cannot miss main quests they have to be completed in order. You need to complete all previous quests (the order can be found here)
Can I complete a main quest even though I am passed the level it unlocks at?
Yes, it will start automatically once previous quests have been completed
What happens if I don’t complete in the time limit, can I still finish a main quest?
Yes you have to finish it before you can move onto the next quest
I didn’t complete in the time limit, can I restart the quest?
No, you cannot redo quests
Can I still get the prize if I don’t complete in the time limit?
No, the only way to get the limited time prizes is by completing the quest in the time limit
I don’t like a quest I am on! Can I just skip it?
No, you have to complete the quest before you can move onto the next one
Why are there two versions of some quests?
Some quests have two versions, as when the makers have updated the times for quests they haven’t updated them on all devices so some players still get the old times
What do you mean when you say a goal can be started early?
Any goal that you can normally do can be started early because you will have access to it and any goal that you can’t normally do you will have to wait until you get the goal to be able to complete it
The tip with this method is to put the sim doing that action early in a different house that you cannot go to until you get that goal or it will not work
Some times are slightly different on my game, why is this?
Times may vary depending on the star rating of the item you are using, as the higher star rating an item has the quicker you will complete a goal
Some times are really off/ different goals show for me, why is this?
This will be because the quest has been updated recently, I try my best to keep these posts up to date but it is difficult as I cannot redo every quest each time the game is updated. If you notice any changes please let me know so I can update the post

I don’t get the option to watch SimChef on TV, why?
You will not get the option until you get the goal when the quest starts
Why can’t I buy a toaster?
You need to place a toaster on a counter or table, it won’t let you buy it if you try to put it on the floor
I can’t make cheese on toast, why?
You need to have a stove and a toaster in your house to be able to make cheese on toast
How do I invite a sim over?
Click on the whistle next to a sim who isn’t busy on the simtracker, this post explains more about the simtracker
I can’t cook burgers why?
You need one sim to cook until they reach level 2 in cooking to unlock the burgers, if you use the same sim to cook for each cooking goal in this quest they will reach level 2 by the time you need to cook the burgers
Where can I find the chopping boards?
You need to complete the cooking hobby for the first time to unlock the chopping boards, they can then be found in the kitchen section of buy mode
Love is in the Air Quest
How do I get two sims in a house?
Click on the whistle next to a sim who isn’t busy on the simtracker
Why can’t my sim kiss another sim on the cheek?
You have probably been romantic too many times, you need to be dating to get this interaction, if they are already partners you won’t be able to do this task. To get around this you need a sim to be romantic to a different sim until they are dating so you can complete this goal
How do I send a sim home?
Click on the house with the arrow in it button next to a sim who isn’t busy on the simtracker
I can’t be romantic, why?
You cannot be romantic until you get the goal in this quest to be romantic
Two and a Half Sims Quest
I can’t place the magazines in my house, why?
You need to put them on a table or counter, you cannot place them on the floor
My sims won’t read the magazine, help!

Raiders of the Lost Artifacts Quest
How do I visit the island?
Click on the mysterious island bridge, this will take you to the island
I cannot find the third artifact, where do you find them?
You get them by random, by baking, gardening and using objects, I cannot tell you where to find them as any action can give you one. Try planting peppers or any other action that takes seconds to try and get it quickly
How long does it take to upgrade the riches of terra?
Go to the island and click on it and select upgrade and it will complete straightaway
Why haven’t you posted about monuments yet?

You can find it in your inventory under career and hobby items

No exclamation marks appear above items to clean up, what should I do?
Just click on items when a sim is there and it will come up with options on the things that need clearing
Can I have more than 4 sims cleaning the mess up at the stables?
Yes, you can have up to 10 sims at a place so 8 sims can clear the 8 items at the same time
How do I practice brushing another sim?
Select the interaction between two sims
My game says there is something under construction when I try to repair a stable, what do I do?
Firstly you need to read the pop up as it tells you exactly what is under construction, once you have go there and click on it to finish building, then you will be able to repair the stable (it will be something you have built previously but probably just haven’t clicked to finish building yet!)

Hidden Unicorn Quest
Which is the unicorn jumping gate?
This is the arena at the stables that is not next to the other two gates
How do I bake rocky road?
Click on a stove and select baking and find rocky road
Does it matter if the rocky road burns?
No it will still complete the goal
My game says there is something under construction when I try to repair the gate, what do I do?

What is the magic castle?
The playhouse that is to the left at the swim center
How do I feed my toddler a snack?
You need an adult sim to select the interaction on a toddler
Does the cat stay at the swim center once the quest is complete?
No, it will disappear
Where are the dancing trees?

Does the adult need to clean up all the pee puddles?

I can’t afford simtown elementary, how can I earn more simoleons?

How do I serve the food?

I cannot find Wumples/Santa/Grouch! What should I do?
Firstly restart your device then try looking around all your houses in simtown for them, they have got to be somewhere!
Pizza is locked, how do I cook it?
Your sim needs to be level 2 at cooking and have a microwave at that house
I cannot make the quiche, it is greyed out, why?
Your sim needs to be level 4 at cooking and have a 2 star fridge and stove
How do I give the mud pie to the Grouch? It disappeared!
You don’t see the mud pie, just click on the Grouch and select the option to give mudpie
My game says there is something under construction when I try to open the front door, what do I do?
Firstly you need to read the pop up as it tells you exactly what is under construction, once you have go there and click on it to finish building, then you will be able to open the front door to the restaurant (it will be something you have built previously but probably just haven’t clicked to finish building yet!)
An Alien Concept: Weather Machines Quest
How do I send my sim to the park?
Go to the park and click on the whistle next to a sim who isn’t busy on the simtracker
How do I become friends with the alien?
Be nice to Osiris until your sim becomes friends with him, do this again to become best friends when you get that goal
I have spent S16,000 on items but the goal will not complete, why?
Make sure you are just buying items from the electronics section of buy mode
How do I negotiate with a sim eating plant?
You need to grow lettuce until it turns into a sim eating plant then when it has you will be able to negotiate with it
How do I get my sims to woohoo?
You need two sims who are partners to be able to get this interaction
I already have a world globe, do I have to buy another one?
Yes you do or you cannot complete this quest
I don’t have a stereo, where can I find one?
You can buy one from the electronics section
Multi Story Renovations Quest
I can’t afford the community center, how can I earn more simoleons?

No, you cannot build the community center until you get the goal in this quest
The game says I have to complete the multi story renovations quest to be able to build the community center, what is the problem?
There is no problem, you have to start the multi story quest and the first goal is to build the community center so you cannot build it until you get that first goal in the quest
How do I send my sim to the community center?
Go to the community center and click on the whistle next to a sim who isn’t busy on the simtracker
I don’t understand what you mean when you say you can do both call the home store/ hotline goals at once to save time?
This goal appears twice so it is like being able to start a goal early that you have access to (read the question below if you don’t understand this) to do this you need two sims and two different houses:
1- When you get the goal to call home store you can set sim 1 to do the task
2- In a different house which you need to stay away from until you get the second goal you can have sim 2 also do the task
3- When sim 1 is done you complete the goal the first time
4- Wait until you get the goal again to call home store and you can go to sim 2 to complete it straight away!
Does it matter if the banana bread burns? Will the goal still complete?
The goal will still complete even if it causes a fire
I crafted the 1st set of woodworking items before I got the task to, my game now won’t complete the goal, what should I do?
You will need to find the next 3 items in the second row to complete this goal
I completed the quest but I cannot place stairs, why?
Firstly make sure you have rooms upstairs and also give this post a read, it explains how to add stairs to a house

You need to use the blackboard at the community center

Help, all items are greyed out apart from the magazines! What should I do?
Buy the magazines again, this should allow you to access the rest of buy mode
Do I need a teen for this quest?
Yes, in this quest you complete the teen idol hobby for the first time so a teen is required to complete all the goals
Can I have more than one teen doing this at once?
No, only one teen can be the teen idol and complete this hobby at one time
I have done the task write 3 pieces of music but it will not complete, why?
You need to write 3 different pieces, you cannot just do the task 3 times
Why can’t I buy the microphone yet?
You need to find all 3 pieces of music on the keyboard, then all 3 on the bass guitar, then all 3 on the drum kit, then all 3 on the guitar and then you will be able to buy the microphone
I cannot find one of the pieces, what should I do?
Some take longer to get than others to find so just keep going, you will find them eventually!
Adulthood Quest
How do I send my sim to the park?
Go to the park and click on the whistle next to a sim who isn’t busy on the simtracker
Do I need to use a teen for these tasks?
No, all can be done with an adult
How do I call a sim to the swim center?

Do I need the snow park to complete this quest?
Yes you do, you cannot complete the goal to visit the snow park without it
You cannot do this at a neighbours town, quest goals can only be completed in your town
How do I send my sim to the swim center?

I don’t have the option to feed or investigate the pigeons, why?
Make sure you using an adult sim
How do I search garbage for a cupcake?
Kick over the trash can first then you will get the option

What are discovery quests?

Why can’t I do a discovery quest yet?
You cannot do more than one discovery quest at the same time, if you are currently on another discovery quest you will not be able to do another one until that is completed
Can I do discovery quests at the same time as a main quest?
Yes you can
Do I have to do a discovery quest?
If you don’t start the quest you don’t have to do it at all but if you have already started it you need to complete it before you can move on to the next quest
I haven’t started a discovery quest yet, will it still be available when I want to do it?
Yes it will be, you can choose to start it whenever you like
What happens if I don’t complete in the time limit, can I still finish a quest?
Yes you have to finish it before you can move onto the next discovery quest

How do I start this discovery quest?
Build the sorcerous supplies store to start this quest
Does the time limit start when I click to build or once the building has complete?
Once it has finished building the quest and time limit will begin
Why can’t I do this discovery quest yet?
You cannot do more than one discovery quest at the same time, if you are currently on another one you will not be able to do this one until that one is completed
Is it possible to complete this quest in the time limit?
Yes it is
How do I unlock the door to the wand room?
Select randomly rearrange
How do I place the magic wand podium, I can’t find it!
It will be in the hobby and career items section of your inventory
Everytime my sim gazes into the crystal ball it says ‘this place is too crowded’ why?
If you already have a sim at the wizards cottage you will get this message, use the simtracker to go to the sim who is already there instead of using the crystal ball
Can I do all the distract a mummy tasks at the same time?
No you can’t, you can only do them one at a time
How do I pack up the magic wand podium?
Click on it to pack up
The magic wand podium has disappeared once I’ve picked it up! How do I complete the hobby?

So I built the beach house Escape and I have a toddler but I’m yet to complete the preteens quest. I put the preteen /teen beds in my inventory (the ones already provided) to make put in toddler beds. Later regretting choice I went to my inventory and I cant find it anywhere. Do I have to complete the preteen quest to get them back or are they lost forever?

Have you completed the two and a half sims quest? If you have, do you have 4 sims living in the house already? As you can only have 4 sims living in a house at one time.

1) I had a family with a mom, dad, and baby. My little sister deleted the mom, and I made a new sim and made her get married with the dad. Now, when the plumbob is on the baby and I press the dad it says “dad” but not “mom” on th women. Is there anyway to fix it?
2) If I add another baby, with the same mom and dad as above, will she actually be the mom. Or would it be a similar case to that of the fist baby?

2) Where do you get swimsuits, I’m on level 29 and I completed the “It’s all going swimmingly” quest already. Is there a time limit on it because I missed the time limit prize for the quest which is the volleyball net or something. Does it mean that the swimsuits came with the volley ball net which is in time limit?, So I will not have any swimsuit for the sims and they will just wear their the swimsuit like clothe which they wear to sleep?😥

You should be able to get back to the house by selecting the option on the phone, if the option is no longer there try restarting your device, if this still doesn’t complete the goal you may need to contact EA to see if they can fix this problem for you

About the Christmas Wonderland quest I made it till the kitchen counter set, I spent my Social points to buy a renovators dream home and I used the furniture from the winter quest to decorate it, I did not move anybody in yet. I notice the counters don’t work when I put stuff on so I replaced it with another one I still have the other non usable kitchen stuff just for looks only the counters I changed out. Do you know when they will notice this glitch?
The frozen stairs are really expensive! Because of the cost of a second floor only one house I have a second floor and balcony, but most of my homes have patios but not as bad as pools which only two homes have, I haven’t started on the basement but it will not be cheap to get that either, I am working on the castle quest but I doubt I will finish to get fairies, I just finish the hairstyle quest long enough to get the first set of hairstyles, when the hats came around I had one day only so I just stopped.

Hi I decided to try an experiment with the family dynamics: I was bored of just having married couples, and the first couple I considered has a son who I now aged to preteen(one of my preteens). I created a new woman sim and had her form a relationship with the guy until he divorced her. The father moved in with the woman, and I created a bedroom for the son so he takes turns living with both parents, and his relationship with the father is the same but I noticed the father took on the woman’s last name?! It is a bit strange even though it is a game. The son and the Son’s Mother still have his last name! Now his father and his new wife have a baby sim girl, and she has the last name of her parents. The baby when I checked her relationship under her name it says she and the boy are siblings.
I have not yet tried Same gender relationships or anything like that but would it be the same for the child, if they can have step siblings? Thanks so much for answering my questions, oh and I got the pet fairies quest done with just 15 hours left! It was really challenging especially when you have 10 hours or 1day just to do one thing and I had to use 1 LP for the last hour since I had to sleep.

I would continue until you complete the spell casting hobby, then switch to a different one. I know its frustrating when some hobbies take a long time, you just have to keep going though
Hi, I have unlocked the Archery quest and the sim I had doing the fishing quest which they got 100 percent the first time is now switched to Archery,but i need one more sim to get it done quicker.The sim I had in mind is doing Woodworking is it a good idea for me to change him from woodworking to Archery? I don’t like the woodworking hobby since the wooden dolls run of..and I am trying to get the last item of the spell casting quest done, so that sim can start another hobby.
if you don’t like woodworking then you can switch, I would recommend completing all hobbies at least once though so all the collectibles are unlocked incase there is ever a timed event for a hobby so you don’t have to reach level 6 with another sim in a time limit

I completed the puppy quest and have the puppy playmat and a puppy. I cannot get the playmat to work! I’ve repositioned it many times but my sims still give me that “no” stomp and won’t do it. Any insight?
Try putting it in a room that has nothing else in it and make sure you are using either an adult or teenage sim, apart from that I don’t know what else to suggest, sorry!
So I want a family to live on a houseboat, but I don’t want the mom. So, if I delete the mom from my town will they still be a family. I want the family to have 2 toddlers and the dad. But, if that’s not possible then I will just have 2 toddlers, a dad, and a mom. By the way, love your blogs they are sooooooooooooooo helpful.
Yes you can delete the mom as long as you already have the 2 toddlers otherwise you won’t be able to have the babies without the mom

I have room to add two more Sims to my city. I bought a house on the island when I didn’t have room for more Sims and for some reason it doesn’t give me the option of “add new Sim” (it gives the other options ie. “relocate” “demolish”.) Is there a reason for this? Is there a fix?
You probably have a baby ready to add to the game, you cannot add another sim until you add the baby
Hi, I’m wondering if anyone else noticed that XP amounts on smaller tasks (like using toilet, 5 XP, and double shot of coffee, 8 XP) has been greatly reduced? I wonder if this came from the last update? To me, these tasks used to get you a lot more XPs. Let me know if anyone else noticed this, or if there is something wrong with my game. Thanks!

Hi, I have a question I notice the kitten can be aged to an adult will they still be able to use the kitten play mat? I mean they are cute the way they are! It is great the first one at 2 star is free, although the puppy is one star but I don’t worry about how many stars. I finished the quest on time but I don’t have the Pet salon would the outfits be there after I build it?
I haven’t started the time quest yet, and the poodles look cute! I like that the pets really act like real animals. The cat does its own thing jumping up on beds or laying down for a nap and the dogs run like crazy and my German Shepard eats the food as soon as its in the bowl, though I hardly see a cat eat though.

Hi, Weightlessmagic, I finally unlocked teenagers but I won’t be in a hurry to age my preteen and why is there so little stuff for teens in the home store compared to preteens? Will more beds and stuff be unlocked? Thanks.. I am trying to get the restaurant cleaned up so I can focus on the 2 pet hobbies which I started two days ago. It looks like I won’t get the poodle, but i am glad the Persian cat breed is not a timed prized. I also couldn’t find any teen clothes in the clothing store will they be unlocked when I age my preteens?
Unfortunately that is all the items available for teens, apart from the teen idol instruments (which unlock when you complete the teen idol quest)
But there are plenty of teen clothes available once you age your preteen as your teen has to view the items in the wardrobe, also there are lots more clothes to unlock when you build the stores at the mall
Just one thing, should try to finish the spell casting hobby? I have one really hard to get rare item left and I have been working on it when I can.. Without use of the lucky spin or LPs. I just make sure the sims meters are all green . I go with the 8 hours option since the green bars don’t go down when they are doing the hobby . I have sims working on different hobbies but it’s the ice skating that i need another sim to rotate with to get it done faster. The archery hobby I have two, since I had one female sim finish fishing than I quit with that one to go into archery.
It gets a little confusing with all the hobbies! Plus making sure my sims have babies to keep up, and I am not spending $5 to adopt it is to much. I rather save up the LPs for babies and bake birthday cakes. I know only 4 people can live in the house, but what about a couple that ‘want’ 3 kids?
Yes, you should try and finish it, I know its frustrating but you just have to keep going, you will get them eventually!
If a couple wants 3 kids, they can’t have 3 kids so there isn’t anything you can do
I want to enjoy playing the sims the way I want to, but can I choose not to do the last quest?? The life and dreams..or can I stop the main quest up to when they are Adults or seniors? I find that there is plenty to do without a time limit on my sims life.
Yes you can, but you need to at least stop on the quest before which is In Stitches (or anyone before that) or your sims will start to age as soon as you start the life dreams quest.
I missed the styles of time quest. What do I do? 😥 please help. It’s the only reason why I tried my best to enable my ipad.

i am past level 16 and it wont let me unlock flames of wisdom and the reach level 16 box when i tap the monument is ticked!! how do i get it??!!

I will try to finish the hobby before switching, and I looked at the hobby selection for teens their is more hobby choices for teen. I have done karate and the ballet hobby but it doesn’t show I don’t know why they didn’t add them to the hobby list.

Hi Weightlessmagic due to the teens not having much furniture for their rooms, can they use the selection of preteen desks, bookshelves, beanbag chairs or some of the adult furniture? When I decorate the kids rooms I don’t want all of them to have the same wall paper and furniture. Thanks to the ballet and karate hobby I unlocked themed doors, wallpaper ect.
