What is the maximum amount of sims you can have in one house?
4 is the maximum for living in a house at one time but you can invite other sims over and have 10 in a house or public place at once
How Many Sims Can I Have In My Town?
How do I get a sim to sleep through an alarm?
Click on bed, choose the option
How do I call a sim?

How do I invite a sim over?
Make sure they aren’t busy, go to the house you want them and click the whistle next to their picture
How do I use a computer?
Click on a computer in the game and choose the option you need.
I can’t add a new sim, why?
You may have reached the sim limit, you need to wait until you level up to unlock a new sim but you don’t always unlock a new sim each level.
Why can’t I add another baby?
A couple can only have 2 children as only 4 sims can live in a house at one time
A material just appeared above my sims head! What is this for?
These materials, for example granite as shown in the image below are used to upgrade the monuments on the island that you unlock during the Raiders of the Lost Artifacts Quest:
Why do blue footprints appear when I try to use an item?
Blue footprints appear when your sim cannot access an item you want them to use, you need to either rotate the item or move an item that has been placed in front of it so they can use it
Do I need a birthday cake to age a sim?
Yes you need a birthday cake to age your sim to each life stage until you complete the Life Dreams and Legacies quest where your sims age automatically
If I bake a cake early will it be there when I need it?
Yes, it will be stored until you are ready to age your sim
Can I change my sims name/ gender etc?
How do I get two sims married?
Can I make my sims friends after they become nemesis?
Yes, just be nice until they become friends again
How do I save my game?
If you log into Game Center or Facebook in the game you can save it to one or both of those to save your game to the cloud. The game will save automatically each time you collect your daily reward but you can save it manually from the settings

They need to clean the pool first and then they should do the action.

Help! I put my preteen bed in my inventory but cannot find it! Why?
If you haven’t completed the preparing for preteens quest yet you will not be able to see the preteen tab where the bed will be, once you complete the quest the bed should reappear

How much do houses, businesses or workplaces cost to build?
The price varies depending on how many other houses, business or workplaces you have already built, each time you build another one the price will increase but it will only increase for similar buildings, for example, if you build a house the price will only increase for the next house you build, it will not increase for businesses or workplaces too

How much do workplaces cost to build?
The price varies depending on how many other workplaces you have already built, each time you build another one the price will increase but it will only increase for similar buildings, for example, if you build a workplace the price will only increase for the next workplace you build, it will not increase for businesses or houses too
What is the difference between a career and a profession?
With professions you can go to work with your sims and help them out during their shift, with careers they will just go to work for a set amount of time and return when they have finished

They can’t see it because they aren’t seeing the most up to date version of your game, you need to connect to the cloud for them to see this version of your game
I can only visit Another Simtown, what items are available there?
If I skip a social task with LP will I still get the reward?
Yes you will
What items are needed to create a great social house?

Main Quests
I have missed a main quest! Why can’t I start it yet?
You cannot miss main quests they have to be completed in order. You need to complete all previous quests (the order can be found here)
Can I complete a main quest even though I am passed the level it unlocks at?
Yes, it will start automatically once previous quests have been completed
What happens if I don’t complete in the time limit, can I still finish a main quest?
Yes you have to finish it before you can move onto the next quest
I didn’t complete in the time limit, can I restart the quest?
No, you cannot redo quests
Can I still get the prize if I don’t complete in the time limit?
No, the only way to get the limited time prizes is by completing the quest in the time limit
I don’t like a quest I am on! Can I just skip it?
No, you have to complete the quest before you can move onto the next one
Why are there two versions of some quests?
Some quests have two versions, as when the makers have updated the times for quests they haven’t updated them on all devices so some players still get the old times
What do you mean when you say a goal can be started early?
Any goal that you can normally do can be started early because you will have access to it and any goal that you can’t normally do you will have to wait until you get the goal to be able to complete it
The tip with this method is to put the sim doing that action early in a different house that you cannot go to until you get that goal or it will not work
Some times are slightly different on my game, why is this?
Times may vary depending on the star rating of the item you are using, as the higher star rating an item has the quicker you will complete a goal
Some times are really off/ different goals show for me, why is this?
This will be because the quest has been updated recently, I try my best to keep these posts up to date but it is difficult as I cannot redo every quest each time the game is updated. If you notice any changes please let me know so I can update the post

I don’t get the option to watch SimChef on TV, why?
You will not get the option until you get the goal when the quest starts
Why can’t I buy a toaster?
You need to place a toaster on a counter or table, it won’t let you buy it if you try to put it on the floor
I can’t make cheese on toast, why?
You need to have a stove and a toaster in your house to be able to make cheese on toast
How do I invite a sim over?
Click on the whistle next to a sim who isn’t busy on the simtracker, this post explains more about the simtracker
I can’t cook burgers why?
You need one sim to cook until they reach level 2 in cooking to unlock the burgers, if you use the same sim to cook for each cooking goal in this quest they will reach level 2 by the time you need to cook the burgers
Where can I find the chopping boards?
You need to complete the cooking hobby for the first time to unlock the chopping boards, they can then be found in the kitchen section of buy mode
Love is in the Air Quest
How do I get two sims in a house?
Click on the whistle next to a sim who isn’t busy on the simtracker
Why can’t my sim kiss another sim on the cheek?
You have probably been romantic too many times, you need to be dating to get this interaction, if they are already partners you won’t be able to do this task. To get around this you need a sim to be romantic to a different sim until they are dating so you can complete this goal
How do I send a sim home?
Click on the house with the arrow in it button next to a sim who isn’t busy on the simtracker
I can’t be romantic, why?
You cannot be romantic until you get the goal in this quest to be romantic
Two and a Half Sims Quest
I can’t place the magazines in my house, why?
You need to put them on a table or counter, you cannot place them on the floor
My sims won’t read the magazine, help!

Raiders of the Lost Artifacts Quest
How do I visit the island?
Click on the mysterious island bridge, this will take you to the island
I cannot find the third artifact, where do you find them?
You get them by random, by baking, gardening and using objects, I cannot tell you where to find them as any action can give you one. Try planting peppers or any other action that takes seconds to try and get it quickly
How long does it take to upgrade the riches of terra?
Go to the island and click on it and select upgrade and it will complete straightaway
Why haven’t you posted about monuments yet?

You can find it in your inventory under career and hobby items
I can’t afford the stables, how can I earn more simoleons?

No exclamation marks appear above items to clean up, what should I do?
Just click on items when a sim is there and it will come up with options on the things that need clearing
Can I have more than 4 sims cleaning the mess up at the stables?
Yes, you can have up to 10 sims at a place so 8 sims can clear the 8 items at the same time
How do I practice brushing another sim?
Select the interaction between two sims
My game says there is something under construction when I try to repair a stable, what do I do?
Firstly you need to read the pop up as it tells you exactly what is under construction, once you have go there and click on it to finish building, then you will be able to repair the stable (it will be something you have built previously but probably just haven’t clicked to finish building yet!)

Yes you can, build the costume and swim store then you will find them in your wardrobe
Hidden Unicorn Quest
Which is the unicorn jumping gate?
This is the arena at the stables that is not next to the other two gates
How do I bake rocky road?
Click on a stove and select baking and find rocky road
Does it matter if the rocky road burns?
No it will still complete the goal
My game says there is something under construction when I try to repair the gate, what do I do?

What is the magic castle?
The playhouse that is to the left at the swim center
How do I feed my toddler a snack?
You need an adult sim to select the interaction on a toddler
Does the cat stay at the swim center once the quest is complete?
No, it will disappear
Where are the dancing trees?
At the swim center
Does the adult need to clean up all the pee puddles?

Preparing for Preteens Quest
I can’t afford simtown elementary, how can I earn more simoleons?

I can’t afford the restaurant, how can I earn more simoleons?

How do I serve the food?
Click on the plates and select the option
I cannot find Wumples/Santa/Grouch! What should I do?
Firstly restart your device then try looking around all your houses in simtown for them, they have got to be somewhere!
Pizza is locked, how do I cook it?
Your sim needs to be level 2 at cooking and have a microwave at that house
I cannot make the quiche, it is greyed out, why?
Your sim needs to be level 4 at cooking and have a 2 star fridge and stove
How do I give the mud pie to the Grouch? It disappeared!
You don’t see the mud pie, just click on the Grouch and select the option to give mudpie
My game says there is something under construction when I try to open the front door, what do I do?
Firstly you need to read the pop up as it tells you exactly what is under construction, once you have go there and click on it to finish building, then you will be able to open the front door to the restaurant (it will be something you have built previously but probably just haven’t clicked to finish building yet!)
An Alien Concept: Weather Machines Quest
How do I send my sim to the park?
Go to the park and click on the whistle next to a sim who isn’t busy on the simtracker
How do I become friends with the alien?
Be nice to Osiris until your sim becomes friends with him, do this again to become best friends when you get that goal
I have spent S16,000 on items but the goal will not complete, why?
Make sure you are just buying items from the electronics section of buy mode
How do I negotiate with a sim eating plant?
You need to grow lettuce until it turns into a sim eating plant then when it has you will be able to negotiate with it
How do I get my sims to woohoo?
You need two sims who are partners to be able to get this interaction
I already have a world globe, do I have to buy another one?
Yes you do or you cannot complete this quest
I don’t have a stereo, where can I find one?
You can buy one from the electronics section
Multi Story Renovations Quest
I can’t afford the community center, how can I earn more simoleons?

No, you cannot build the community center until you get the goal in this quest
The game says I have to complete the multi story renovations quest to be able to build the community center, what is the problem?
There is no problem, you have to start the multi story quest and the first goal is to build the community center so you cannot build it until you get that first goal in the quest
How do I send my sim to the community center?
Go to the community center and click on the whistle next to a sim who isn’t busy on the simtracker
I don’t understand what you mean when you say you can do both call the home store/ hotline goals at once to save time?
This goal appears twice so it is like being able to start a goal early that you have access to (read the question below if you don’t understand this) to do this you need two sims and two different houses:
1- When you get the goal to call home store you can set sim 1 to do the task
2- In a different house which you need to stay away from until you get the second goal you can have sim 2 also do the task
3- When sim 1 is done you complete the goal the first time
4- Wait until you get the goal again to call home store and you can go to sim 2 to complete it straight away!
Does it matter if the banana bread burns? Will the goal still complete?
The goal will still complete even if it causes a fire
I crafted the 1st set of woodworking items before I got the task to, my game now won’t complete the goal, what should I do?
You will need to find the next 3 items in the second row to complete this goal
I completed the quest but I cannot place stairs, why?
Firstly make sure you have rooms upstairs and also give this post a read, it explains how to add stairs to a house

You need to use the blackboard at the community center

Help, all items are greyed out apart from the magazines! What should I do?
Buy the magazines again, this should allow you to access the rest of buy mode
Do I need a teen for this quest?
Yes, in this quest you complete the teen idol hobby for the first time so a teen is required to complete all the goals
Can I have more than one teen doing this at once?
No, only one teen can be the teen idol and complete this hobby at one time
I have done the task write 3 pieces of music but it will not complete, why?
You need to write 3 different pieces, you cannot just do the task 3 times
Why can’t I buy the microphone yet?
You need to find all 3 pieces of music on the keyboard, then all 3 on the bass guitar, then all 3 on the drum kit, then all 3 on the guitar and then you will be able to buy the microphone
I cannot find one of the pieces, what should I do?
Some take longer to get than others to find so just keep going, you will find them eventually!
Adulthood Quest
How do I send my sim to the park?
Go to the park and click on the whistle next to a sim who isn’t busy on the simtracker
Do I need to use a teen for these tasks?
No, all can be done with an adult
How do I call a sim to the swim center?

Do I need the snow park to complete this quest?
Yes you do, you cannot complete the goal to visit the snow park without it
You cannot do this at a neighbours town, quest goals can only be completed in your town
How do I send my sim to the swim center?

I don’t have the option to feed or investigate the pigeons, why?
Make sure you using an adult sim
How do I search garbage for a cupcake?
Kick over the trash can first then you will get the option

What are discovery quests?

Why can’t I do a discovery quest yet?
You cannot do more than one discovery quest at the same time, if you are currently on another discovery quest you will not be able to do another one until that is completed
Can I do discovery quests at the same time as a main quest?
Yes you can
Do I have to do a discovery quest?
If you don’t start the quest you don’t have to do it at all but if you have already started it you need to complete it before you can move on to the next quest
I haven’t started a discovery quest yet, will it still be available when I want to do it?
Yes it will be, you can choose to start it whenever you like
What happens if I don’t complete in the time limit, can I still finish a quest?
Yes you have to finish it before you can move onto the next discovery quest

How do I start this discovery quest?
Build the sorcerous supplies store to start this quest
Does the time limit start when I click to build or once the building has complete?
Once it has finished building the quest and time limit will begin
Why can’t I do this discovery quest yet?
You cannot do more than one discovery quest at the same time, if you are currently on another one you will not be able to do this one until that one is completed
Is it possible to complete this quest in the time limit?
Yes it is
How do I unlock the door to the wand room?
Select randomly rearrange
How do I place the magic wand podium, I can’t find it!
It will be in the hobby and career items section of your inventory
Everytime my sim gazes into the crystal ball it says ‘this place is too crowded’ why?
If you already have a sim at the wizards cottage you will get this message, use the simtracker to go to the sim who is already there instead of using the crystal ball
Can I do all the distract a mummy tasks at the same time?
No you can’t, you can only do them one at a time
How do I pack up the magic wand podium?
Click on it to pack up
The magic wand podium has disappeared once I’ve picked it up! How do I complete the hobby?

Firstly you asked those questions on the 24th March, today is the 31st- that is not three weeks and I did say I was going to be away for a few days. Also comments are not deleted after a week, they are still in moderation until I reply to them.

I gave you advice on how to take a load off of yourself which you seem to not have taken. I was patient with you and my email was not rude at all. It was just a heads up. 5 days later, nothing except now the comment is gone forever.

I just found a user made daycare for 26 LP in the architect home tab..it included a Toddler playhouse. I thought it would make a cute little place for babies/toddlers to go to. I think some of the houses cost to much. I have 44 social points that I saved in case I find a nice two floor home, but most of the houses are Easter themed. What do you think about the new homes submitted?
I definitely would recommend this house if you want it because if I remember rightly the playhouse itself will cost you 20LPs to buy and the train set in this house costs 26LPs so you will be saving LPs buying this house than buying the items separately.
Thanks! I bought it and I just made a few adjustment to add a small room and a few children’s beds and baby crib. I also seen another user made childcare center but this one cost a lot more and I think it was simoleons?? it was 2 floors and it had beds and study area for preteens included. It took me awhile to realize it wasn’t a house since there was no adult bed and no crib, but they set up a table with high chairs. I think I will check back here once in awhile, I don’t want to spend 44 social points on a house I might not like and I want a two story house. It cost me more than 300,000 to add second floor.
Honestly I don’t look at the architect tab much as I prefer to build my own houses so I’m not sure which house you are talking about but I think one daycare center is enough for a town!

Ok. I found out the winner of the Easter theme house is chosen, but I went to check out the Architech houses and nothing? Or is the time zone for the different on my end? as in it will be later that I can find out. All the houses still look the same. It might have been a teaser.
The house you were talking about buying is Easter themed so you must have the Easter themed ones in your architect tab

Have you used a cheat? If so this can mess with the times in the game causing things like this to happen, there is nothing anyone can do to fix this for you if you have cheated.

Yes, you need to reach the next level that the next quest unlocks at to start the next quest.
The first house given to me when I started the game only generates 5 simolens even after it is now four stories high, a basement, a patio, a pool, and a balcony. It is the largest house in my entire game, it is full of expensive stuff, yet it is only 5 simolens every 20 seconds. Do they ever upgrade? I have built smaller houses that generate lots more money and take a lot longer. I am on level 40
This only gets 5 simoleons because it was the first house you had in the game, the more houses you build, the more a house will cost you so the more revenue you will get from it.
Does demolishing the house and building the exact house later on up its production? Not just the first house, but any house?
I have never tried it but I believe it does

What are some of the activities that generate the most XP? I don’t care how long they take.
Also, last night, my game seemed to be like on speed. 9 – 11 pm, all my pets were constantly finding lifestyle points and when a sim dies, I got like 20,00+ XP instead of 10,000. Any reason for that?

I don’t have a list of how many XPs every action in the game will make you unfortunately, maybe I will one day but it will take a long time to create!
Firstly inspire your sim and complete actions (that can be) at home they will earn more XPs.
The best thing to grow for the most XPs (not including the plants that turn into sim eating plants) is the Hamburger plant that unlocks at level 36 will make you 2788XPs, the second best is garlic that takes 8 hours to grow and will make you 1948XPs
Apart from that, the longest actions on objects will earn you more XPs and when you complete rows in hobby collections you get large XP rewards.

I have a house with 10 garden patches lined up, I call 10 sims to the house and one by one start tapping garden patches to have all sims garden, after about four or five, the game will start activating a patch right next to the one I actually tapped. And does this every time I use those 10 garden patches, many restarts of both my tablet and game and still does this. even after three updates. I know I am not accidentally tapping the wrong patch, my fingers were not even near the one activated. If I move the screen to where only half the patch that keeps getting activated is shown, it still activates that patch instead of the one I actually tapped and the game automatically centers the screen on it. The only way around this I found is to move the view so that the patch that keeps getting activated is completely off the screen.
Have you ever had this problem? Have you found a cure? Do you know what could be wrong?
I have never had this problem before and I am not really sure why this is happening, the only thing I can suggest and you have already said it isn’t the case is you are clicking on the wrong patch, when you click on one it will be highlighted before the options will appear so keep an eye out for which one is highlighted. Sorry but that is the only thing I can think of and you will probably say that isn’t the problem so there is nothing else I can suggest.

Unfortunately you aren’t really going to be able to move them while they are married because if you try and select the relocate sim it says that you cannot separate married couples and you can’t just select move family because it will move everyone in that house so the only thing you can do really if you really want to move them is divorce the couple and get one of them to move out then they can get remarried into the new house

You don’t have to buy a cat, as long as you have at least one pet in your town you can complete goals in certain quests. I personally like having pets so I would say it is worth it but it is up to you.
Hello! I have a quick question: do you know why the box where I can send my sims to work (and school) is greyed out? Because I’m trying to send them to work (it says they have a job and education for the preteen) but I can’t send them? Is this a technical issue? Because I can only send 2 sims to work which isn’t really enough 😦

That sounds like it might be a technical issue, you could try getting them to quit their job and school and getting them a job or enrolling them again, that may help

I have this odd looking thing sitting in one of my houses and it favors a card shuffler or spaceship its black with what looks like cards fanned out on the bottom do you know what that is? I can’t move it or sell it, it just sits there😬
That is a pee cleaner (you can find it in the electronics section once you reach level 18) if your sims wet themselves in that house it will be cleaned up automatically by the pee cleaner.
The cupcake icon to instantly make a Sim feel inspired is always grayed out. Is there any reason for that? Is there some kind of problem or something I need to do first? How do I fix this?
If your sims are already inspired the cupcake will be greyed out, it won’t be greyed out if they are not inspired.
I have a 3 star car but I don’t ever get more than 20$ I got it with the beach side escape will I ever get lps with it? BTW really like your stuff helps me with loads of quests 😀
Yes, it is possible to get LPs you just have to keep driving and you will get them one day!

I am UNABLE to add another sim! EVERY TIME I TRY, I get the following error message, “You have already reached the maximum number of Sims for the town” I HAVE PLENTY of LP to add a sim!!! but I CANNOT EVEN Pay LP to add sims!!! that error message shows up ANY TIME I TRY!!! I Googled the error message but ONLY garbage results showed, I searched the error message again and Google says “No results for” “searching without quotes”!!! like if NOBODY has had that error message before!!! it says I have 34 sims, but there are FAR MORE lots to build houses in the game than 34!!! I STILL have like 15 open lots!!! and ONLY 3 or 4 lots in my game have multiple residents!!! What is going on and how do I fix this???
34 is the maximum amount of sims you can have in your town.
These days, I visit here a lot. This site is amazing. I could find all the things I needed. And I ended up loving Sims freeplay. I want to complete all tasks 🙂 Thank you very much.

The sims is starting to get boring and in regards to the Life and Dreams quest after it is done..does the motive bars( Hunger, Toilet ect.) of the sims drain down the same before that quest? Or it only happens if I perform an action. It is tricky to manage all the needs of 24 sims so when they get low I just use the cake slices. I get about 8 free slices a day but I only use it when I don’t have time.
If I decide to do it I want to make sure it’s the right choice since I don’t have all day to play only 30 mintues on the sims game at night! I do check on my sims (make them do their hobby, garden ect for the longest time) early morning before it gets busy like around 7am Canadian time.

Thanks, I’m still thinking about when to start that quest. I still have a few unfinished hobbies to get the collectables like the figure skating outfits or the wizard furniture packs. I even started farming the hamberger plant for extra money. I have an extra plot but it’s easier to garden in there homes than to send them all to that place than having to send them each back. Is is better to just turn that into a gardening plot? I have been deciding to do that, but with 25 sims I would need to buy that many. I just don’t feel ready to spend all my simoleons on a few stores at the mall, since they are starting to cost 90,000 or more. I do send them to work, garden, level up their hobbies although they are maxed out. I just repeat the hobby and have as many sims to garden as possible.
Your advice would be great!

I would recommend finishing any hobbies or discovery quests you have left first, mainly so you don’t have to use up your sims life stages on things that could have been completed beforehand so they have more time to complete their life dreams.
If you find gardening at their homes easier than I would stick with that because it doesn’t really make much difference where you choose to do it but if you wanted to do that (remember you can only have 10 sims at a place at one time) you could just move the garden plots that are in their own houses and put 10 of them at one housing lot so you aren’t buying extra.

Do you happen to know where the Latin Villa outdoor lamps are located in the store or inventory? I’m either being dense and can’t find them or they don’t exist. I put one in my inventory and it seems to have disappeared or turned into a little table lamp. I’m puzzled…

I’m not sure which lamps you are talking about but it would either be in the lighting section or the outdoor decorations section of your inventory
I see there is a baby onesie event coming up and I’ve done the nanny knows best quest but need to complete the two and a half sims quest to participate. How do I do that? I have no quests in the queue, never even seen that until I saw a screenshot you posted on here. Until Sims Freeplay I have never Googled for help on a game before and your blog is my go to place, it’s always been very helpful so thank you 🙂
You have already done the two and a half sims quest if you have babies, this is a glitch, hopefully when the event comes out it will realise you have done it but you should contact EA to see if they can sort this out as I am unable to fix technical issues, just in case it does stop you from doing the event.

Firstly I don’t work for EA and how am I plotting with them to get you to build the supermarket? The supermarket allows you to buy seeds and recipes cheaper than if you buy them from the garden plot so what exactly is the scam there?

You can do it but you need to have an adult sim living at the house so you can get the teens to move in as a teen cannot move into a house on their own. So the first teen needs to become friends with the adult until they get the ask to move in option, then you can do the same with the second teen and then you can delete the adult or move them out to a different house.
Hi there! So I have a question. Ok, on my quests page it says “Baby Onesie Event” coming soon. it’s been there maybe two or three days. everytime I open my sim freeplay app it pops up that it will be coming soon and to have the “two and a half sims” and “nanny knows best” quests completed before the event starts. Now I’m level 24, and completed both of the quests listed above awhile ago. But for some odd reason only the nanny knows best quest is checked. I completed the two and half sims quest, or at least I am pretty darn certain I did lol. I have the children’s store, I bought cribs, had babies, etc. Everything you have listed in your forum of what you had to do for the two and a half sims quest I have completed. So why would it have the nanny knows best quest checked and the two and half sims quest not? im afraid I’ll miss the Baby Onesie quest if the event isn’t checked as completed. please help 🙂
