What is the maximum amount of sims you can have in one house?
4 is the maximum for living in a house at one time but you can invite other sims over and have 10 in a house or public place at once
How Many Sims Can I Have In My Town?
How do I get a sim to sleep through an alarm?
Click on bed, choose the option
How do I call a sim?
Using a phone
How do I invite a sim over?
Make sure they aren’t busy, go to the house you want them and click the whistle next to their picture
How do I use a computer?
Click on a computer in the game and choose the option you need.
I can’t add a new sim, why?
You may have reached the sim limit, you need to wait until you level up to unlock a new sim but you don’t always unlock a new sim each level.
Why can’t I add another baby?
A couple can only have 2 children as only 4 sims can live in a house at one time
A material just appeared above my sims head! What is this for?
These materials, for example granite as shown in the image below are used to upgrade the monuments on the island that you unlock during the Raiders of the Lost Artifacts Quest:
Why do blue footprints appear when I try to use an item?
Blue footprints appear when your sim cannot access an item you want them to use, you need to either rotate the item or move an item that has been placed in front of it so they can use it
Do I need a birthday cake to age a sim?
Yes you need a birthday cake to age your sim to each life stage until you complete the Life Dreams and Legacies quest where your sims age automatically
If I bake a cake early will it be there when I need it?
Yes, it will be stored until you are ready to age your sim
Can I change my sims name/ gender etc?
How do I get two sims married?
Can I make my sims friends after they become nemesis?
Yes, just be nice until they become friends again
How do I save my game?
If you log into Game Center or Facebook in the game you can save it to one or both of those to save your game to the cloud. The game will save automatically each time you collect your daily reward but you can save it manually from the settings

Once you complete the Multi Story Renovations Quest you will unlock this and be able to build multi story houses

They need to clean the pool first and then they should do the action.

Help! I put my preteen bed in my inventory but cannot find it! Why?
If you haven’t completed the preparing for preteens quest yet you will not be able to see the preteen tab where the bed will be, once you complete the quest the bed should reappear

How much do houses, businesses or workplaces cost to build?
The price varies depending on how many other houses, business or workplaces you have already built, each time you build another one the price will increase but it will only increase for similar buildings, for example, if you build a house the price will only increase for the next house you build, it will not increase for businesses or workplaces too

How much do workplaces cost to build?
The price varies depending on how many other workplaces you have already built, each time you build another one the price will increase but it will only increase for similar buildings, for example, if you build a workplace the price will only increase for the next workplace you build, it will not increase for businesses or houses too
What is the difference between a career and a profession?
With professions you can go to work with your sims and help them out during their shift, with careers they will just go to work for a set amount of time and return when they have finished

They can’t see it because they aren’t seeing the most up to date version of your game, you need to connect to the cloud for them to see this version of your game
I can only visit Another Simtown, what items are available there?
If I skip a social task with LP will I still get the reward?
Yes you will
What items are needed to create a great social house?

Main Quests
I have missed a main quest! Why can’t I start it yet?
You cannot miss main quests they have to be completed in order. You need to complete all previous quests (the order can be found here)
Can I complete a main quest even though I am passed the level it unlocks at?
Yes, it will start automatically once previous quests have been completed
What happens if I don’t complete in the time limit, can I still finish a main quest?
Yes you have to finish it before you can move onto the next quest
I didn’t complete in the time limit, can I restart the quest?
No, you cannot redo quests
Can I still get the prize if I don’t complete in the time limit?
No, the only way to get the limited time prizes is by completing the quest in the time limit
I don’t like a quest I am on! Can I just skip it?
No, you have to complete the quest before you can move onto the next one
Why are there two versions of some quests?
Some quests have two versions, as when the makers have updated the times for quests they haven’t updated them on all devices so some players still get the old times
What do you mean when you say a goal can be started early?
Any goal that you can normally do can be started early because you will have access to it and any goal that you can’t normally do you will have to wait until you get the goal to be able to complete it
The tip with this method is to put the sim doing that action early in a different house that you cannot go to until you get that goal or it will not work
Some times are slightly different on my game, why is this?
Times may vary depending on the star rating of the item you are using, as the higher star rating an item has the quicker you will complete a goal
Some times are really off/ different goals show for me, why is this?
This will be because the quest has been updated recently, I try my best to keep these posts up to date but it is difficult as I cannot redo every quest each time the game is updated. If you notice any changes please let me know so I can update the post

I don’t get the option to watch SimChef on TV, why?
You will not get the option until you get the goal when the quest starts
Why can’t I buy a toaster?
You need to place a toaster on a counter or table, it won’t let you buy it if you try to put it on the floor
I can’t make cheese on toast, why?
You need to have a stove and a toaster in your house to be able to make cheese on toast
How do I invite a sim over?
Click on the whistle next to a sim who isn’t busy on the simtracker, this post explains more about the simtracker
I can’t cook burgers why?
You need one sim to cook until they reach level 2 in cooking to unlock the burgers, if you use the same sim to cook for each cooking goal in this quest they will reach level 2 by the time you need to cook the burgers
Where can I find the chopping boards?
You need to complete the cooking hobby for the first time to unlock the chopping boards, they can then be found in the kitchen section of buy mode
Love is in the Air Quest
How do I get two sims in a house?
Click on the whistle next to a sim who isn’t busy on the simtracker
Why can’t my sim kiss another sim on the cheek?
You have probably been romantic too many times, you need to be dating to get this interaction, if they are already partners you won’t be able to do this task. To get around this you need a sim to be romantic to a different sim until they are dating so you can complete this goal
How do I send a sim home?
Click on the house with the arrow in it button next to a sim who isn’t busy on the simtracker
I can’t be romantic, why?
You cannot be romantic until you get the goal in this quest to be romantic
Two and a Half Sims Quest
I can’t place the magazines in my house, why?
You need to put them on a table or counter, you cannot place them on the floor
My sims won’t read the magazine, help!

Raiders of the Lost Artifacts Quest
How do I visit the island?
Click on the mysterious island bridge, this will take you to the island
I cannot find the third artifact, where do you find them?
You get them by random, by baking, gardening and using objects, I cannot tell you where to find them as any action can give you one. Try planting peppers or any other action that takes seconds to try and get it quickly
How long does it take to upgrade the riches of terra?
Go to the island and click on it and select upgrade and it will complete straightaway
Why haven’t you posted about monuments yet?

You can find it in your inventory under career and hobby items
I can’t afford the stables, how can I earn more simoleons?

No exclamation marks appear above items to clean up, what should I do?
Just click on items when a sim is there and it will come up with options on the things that need clearing
Can I have more than 4 sims cleaning the mess up at the stables?
Yes, you can have up to 10 sims at a place so 8 sims can clear the 8 items at the same time
How do I practice brushing another sim?
Select the interaction between two sims
My game says there is something under construction when I try to repair a stable, what do I do?
Firstly you need to read the pop up as it tells you exactly what is under construction, once you have go there and click on it to finish building, then you will be able to repair the stable (it will be something you have built previously but probably just haven’t clicked to finish building yet!)

Hidden Unicorn Quest
Which is the unicorn jumping gate?
This is the arena at the stables that is not next to the other two gates
How do I bake rocky road?
Click on a stove and select baking and find rocky road
Does it matter if the rocky road burns?
No it will still complete the goal
My game says there is something under construction when I try to repair the gate, what do I do?

What is the magic castle?
The playhouse that is to the left at the swim center
How do I feed my toddler a snack?
You need an adult sim to select the interaction on a toddler
Does the cat stay at the swim center once the quest is complete?
No, it will disappear
Where are the dancing trees?

Does the adult need to clean up all the pee puddles?

I can’t afford simtown elementary, how can I earn more simoleons?

How do I serve the food?

I cannot find Wumples/Santa/Grouch! What should I do?
Firstly restart your device then try looking around all your houses in simtown for them, they have got to be somewhere!
Pizza is locked, how do I cook it?
Your sim needs to be level 2 at cooking and have a microwave at that house
I cannot make the quiche, it is greyed out, why?
Your sim needs to be level 4 at cooking and have a 2 star fridge and stove
How do I give the mud pie to the Grouch? It disappeared!
You don’t see the mud pie, just click on the Grouch and select the option to give mudpie
My game says there is something under construction when I try to open the front door, what do I do?
Firstly you need to read the pop up as it tells you exactly what is under construction, once you have go there and click on it to finish building, then you will be able to open the front door to the restaurant (it will be something you have built previously but probably just haven’t clicked to finish building yet!)
An Alien Concept: Weather Machines Quest
How do I send my sim to the park?
Go to the park and click on the whistle next to a sim who isn’t busy on the simtracker
How do I become friends with the alien?
Be nice to Osiris until your sim becomes friends with him, do this again to become best friends when you get that goal
I have spent S16,000 on items but the goal will not complete, why?
Make sure you are just buying items from the electronics section of buy mode
How do I negotiate with a sim eating plant?
You need to grow lettuce until it turns into a sim eating plant then when it has you will be able to negotiate with it
How do I get my sims to woohoo?
You need two sims who are partners to be able to get this interaction
I already have a world globe, do I have to buy another one?
Yes you do or you cannot complete this quest
I don’t have a stereo, where can I find one?
You can buy one from the electronics section
Multi Story Renovations Quest
I can’t afford the community center, how can I earn more simoleons?

No, you cannot build the community center until you get the goal in this quest
The game says I have to complete the multi story renovations quest to be able to build the community center, what is the problem?
There is no problem, you have to start the multi story quest and the first goal is to build the community center so you cannot build it until you get that first goal in the quest
How do I send my sim to the community center?
Go to the community center and click on the whistle next to a sim who isn’t busy on the simtracker
I don’t understand what you mean when you say you can do both call the home store/ hotline goals at once to save time?
This goal appears twice so it is like being able to start a goal early that you have access to (read the question below if you don’t understand this) to do this you need two sims and two different houses:
1- When you get the goal to call home store you can set sim 1 to do the task
2- In a different house which you need to stay away from until you get the second goal you can have sim 2 also do the task
3- When sim 1 is done you complete the goal the first time
4- Wait until you get the goal again to call home store and you can go to sim 2 to complete it straight away!
Does it matter if the banana bread burns? Will the goal still complete?
The goal will still complete even if it causes a fire
I crafted the 1st set of woodworking items before I got the task to, my game now won’t complete the goal, what should I do?
You will need to find the next 3 items in the second row to complete this goal
I completed the quest but I cannot place stairs, why?
Firstly make sure you have rooms upstairs and also give this post a read, it explains how to add stairs to a house

You need to use the blackboard at the community center

Help, all items are greyed out apart from the magazines! What should I do?
Buy the magazines again, this should allow you to access the rest of buy mode
Do I need a teen for this quest?
Yes, in this quest you complete the teen idol hobby for the first time so a teen is required to complete all the goals
Can I have more than one teen doing this at once?
No, only one teen can be the teen idol and complete this hobby at one time
I have done the task write 3 pieces of music but it will not complete, why?
You need to write 3 different pieces, you cannot just do the task 3 times
Why can’t I buy the microphone yet?
You need to find all 3 pieces of music on the keyboard, then all 3 on the bass guitar, then all 3 on the drum kit, then all 3 on the guitar and then you will be able to buy the microphone
I cannot find one of the pieces, what should I do?
Some take longer to get than others to find so just keep going, you will find them eventually!
Adulthood Quest
How do I send my sim to the park?
Go to the park and click on the whistle next to a sim who isn’t busy on the simtracker
Do I need to use a teen for these tasks?
No, all can be done with an adult
How do I call a sim to the swim center?

Do I need the snow park to complete this quest?
Yes you do, you cannot complete the goal to visit the snow park without it
You cannot do this at a neighbours town, quest goals can only be completed in your town
How do I send my sim to the swim center?

I don’t have the option to feed or investigate the pigeons, why?
Make sure you using an adult sim
How do I search garbage for a cupcake?
Kick over the trash can first then you will get the option

What are discovery quests?

Why can’t I do a discovery quest yet?
You cannot do more than one discovery quest at the same time, if you are currently on another discovery quest you will not be able to do another one until that is completed
Can I do discovery quests at the same time as a main quest?
Yes you can
Do I have to do a discovery quest?
If you don’t start the quest you don’t have to do it at all but if you have already started it you need to complete it before you can move on to the next quest
I haven’t started a discovery quest yet, will it still be available when I want to do it?
Yes it will be, you can choose to start it whenever you like
What happens if I don’t complete in the time limit, can I still finish a quest?
Yes you have to finish it before you can move onto the next discovery quest

How do I start this discovery quest?
Build the sorcerous supplies store to start this quest
Does the time limit start when I click to build or once the building has complete?
Once it has finished building the quest and time limit will begin
Why can’t I do this discovery quest yet?
You cannot do more than one discovery quest at the same time, if you are currently on another one you will not be able to do this one until that one is completed
Is it possible to complete this quest in the time limit?
Yes it is
How do I unlock the door to the wand room?
Select randomly rearrange
How do I place the magic wand podium, I can’t find it!
It will be in the hobby and career items section of your inventory
Everytime my sim gazes into the crystal ball it says ‘this place is too crowded’ why?
If you already have a sim at the wizards cottage you will get this message, use the simtracker to go to the sim who is already there instead of using the crystal ball
Can I do all the distract a mummy tasks at the same time?
No you can’t, you can only do them one at a time
How do I pack up the magic wand podium?
Click on it to pack up
The magic wand podium has disappeared once I’ve picked it up! How do I complete the hobby?

And how do you cook pancakes on here? I don’t see the pancakes option to cook in the game, just the quest.
Click on a stove, select baking and select pancakes.
I tried asking my question on the specific page, but it won’t open the comment form. Regarding the Police career, I currently have 2 sims at level 7, one with each of the two professions. I had no trouble obtaining all the badges for the Special Agent sim, but I’ve been stuck on the second badge for the Metro Police sim. At first it required 25 handcuffs (which was impossible). Yesterday it knocked down to 10. Despite any efforts i took (like making sure that sim helped that specific person), either i collected my work shift quota before i got all the cuffs i needed or the time ran out on the shift. It is driving me nuts because at this rate it doesn’t seem like i can unlock that badge because not enough of those resources show up before the shift ends (when it does, it erases any cuffs i had accumulated). Am i doing something wrong or is this a very frustrating glitch?

You aren’t doing anything wrong, EA just haven’t thought this through, unfortunately there isn’t much you can do apart from keep on trying and just hope that you will get the right sims you need (you could contact EA and let them know you are having difficulties with this because I know you aren’t the only one)

Thanks! How is your sim stuck? Do you try to go to the town and the game closes? If so try restarting your device and then try going back to your neighbours, you should be able to get there just long enough to bring your sim back home.

Have you tried restarting your device before trying to get to your neighbours, you didn’t say what happens when you try to get the sim back but if it closes this should give you enough time to get to your neighbours.
Please help! The game won’t let me put me put my baby back in it’s crib. I’ve tried restarting my device, moving the crib, but it doesn’t work. Plus, when my parent chooses to sit with infant, the infant just floats in the air, when I click on it (the infant) it says ‘go to sleep’ or hibernate, when it’s meant to be doing the sit with infant action! Please help!
The game seems to think that the baby is still in the crib so it won’t let you put the baby in the crib, try clicking either go to sleep or hibernate and then restart your device, the baby will hopefully be back in the crib.

Hi, So im level 32 on sims freeplay, im not sure if this question has been asked but, if i delete the lower level of my house and rebuild, will my 2nd level still be there or will i have to buy it again, also if i dont complete a quest will it dissapear and come back around? And is there any alternative to bake a cake if you dont have 5LP? Or anyway to gain LP faster without having to buy the LP from the store? Just realised i asked this in the wrong place sorry! Repost.
I’m not 100% sure on the first one as at some point you could delete the whole house and the second floor would remain but they did change that, I’m not sure if they changed it back again since then though so I would suggest you keep one room on the ground floor when deleting the house and then if you don’t want that room you can build a room connected to it and then delete that first room.

Thank you so much for all the work you put into this blog. I have one question regarding the Sim Eating plant. In one of your how-to guides on earning max. LP/Simoleons, you suggest planting beans. I noticed beans don’t have the highest yield in Simoleons as compared to tomatoes, which give 2000 Simoleons, iirc.
What happens if a sim-eating plant is the result of a tomato planting session? After negotiating with it, does my Sim get to keep the Simoleons earned in that session?
You earn no simoleons or XPs that you would usually get when planting when they turn into a sim eating plant so I really don’t recommend this as a way to make money.

Sims do come in occasionally offering the golden shields but if you are desperate then you can trade 10 police tape and 10 recorders for one of them.

You say you only have one child in the house but how many other people live in the house? If it is 4 including the child then you will not be able to add another sim. If not check that you don’t have a crib in another house with a baby ready to be added, if you do you will need to add that baby first before you can add another one.
I just completed the chocolatier quest and I got the first set of furniture. I’m just wondering if you know if they give me the quest again, how long until they do, or if it’s just a one time thing?

Hello, thanks so much for this blog!! Could anyone please tell me if there is a way to move a child Sim out of a house? His parents have moved out into another house and it left him behind, so now I have a child Sim as head of household and alone.
You’re welcome! You will have to wait until the child is a teen then you can move him in with an adult sim by making them be nice to each other until they are good friends, once they are good friends they will get the ask to move in option. You cannot move a younger sim into a house with someone else unless the parents have passed away then the child can be adopted.
why did they change the cost of SPs from the social flower to 20 LPs now? Is there any other way to get more SPs?

hi ur blog is amazing and very informative! by the way got a question on make up artist event. mine started yesterday but i cant start it since the pretty planters quest have not started yet so i cant clean the central area of level 2 thus cant open make up kiosk. i just started cleaning the first area of the mall at ground floor and because of curiosity i accessed the escalator at level 2 yet the planters quest didnt start. is my game bugged or something? thanks

The pretty little planters quest starting early is currently a glitch in the game, you will need to contact EA to get them to fix this issue for you as I am unable to fix technical problems.
Hi! So, one of my families has a Baby but I want a second one, am I allowed to make a baby when I already have one or do I need to make the baby a toddler? (I used to have two babies but I deleted one and now I can’t make one again, I’ve bought another cot again and it’s still not working. It works with other families but not my current one.)
You can have two babies in a house if you have a crib for each of them but you cannot have more than 4 sims in a house so this may be why you are unable to add another baby.
Can you have a third child if the oldest becomes an adult and moves out?
And can (married) seniors have kids?
Yes you can and yes married seniors can have children.

Thanks! I have heard of a few people having this issue. If the game was working correctly it would let you build the mall and then start the sunset mall quest but it seems there is a glitch where it is telling you to complete the pretty little planters quest that you cannot access until you have completed the sunset mall quest. I would recommend that you contact EA about this issue as I am unable to fix technical issues and hopefully they will be able to sort this out.

I have lost my only neighbor that is still active in Sims Freeplay. It is my cousin so we have tried to troubleshoot together. She can see me and go in and out of my town, but I can only see 9 people including the auto town. The 9 people are not current players and no one got to far so it is like it is not saving anyone new now. My cousin started playing a couple months ago when I did and we have always been able to see each other. I also friended someone on facebook from another forum and she can see me like me cousin can, but I can not see her. I have tried uninstalling the app, uninstalling facebook, logging out of everything and back from my iphone, from my laptop and from my desktop. I have tried unfriended and re-friending my cousin on facebook, but again I pop back up for her, but she does not for me. I gone into all of my setting and everything is giving access as it should…..I don’t know what else to do! I don’t know the exact moment that this happend, but possibly some helpful info is it had to of occurred between level 30-32, In the process of building the mall believe and my iphone did have an update (not on the app, but with the phone itself).
Any ideas???
Sorry but I have no idea what to suggest, sorry! It is really strange that she can see you but you can’t see her! You could contact EA to see if they have any ideas about what is wrong, sorry I couldn’t be more help!

Hi. I’m in love with your blog. It’s been so helpful to me and others. I have a few questions I need to ask you. The first one is about decision making:
Right now I am on level 26 with one diamond and about 270,000 simaleons (sorry if I spelled it wrong 😁) I have built the competition center, the schools, the night club, and more. I have not built the ice skating rink, the mall, the supermarket, the pet shop, costume place, the hair place, nor the car dealership. I really want an second floor for one of my houses and its 300,000 simileons. Though I have heard that you would need to build the skating rink for one of the quests, for I am on the road to fame quest. I really want to build the mall as well though. I hope you can answer that question.
The other problem i had which I believe I already commented on one of the other comment areas was about the quest. I am stuck on the write 6 songs and I seem to always get the same notes. I even made the worst mistake and spent 3 diamonds not knowing that it could give you a not you already have. Is there anything that I can do? I bought a two star guitar. And it still doesn’t seem to help either.

I wouldn’t recommend building the mall right now as you will start a discovery quest and I don’t think doing discovery quests at the same time as main quests is the best idea, especially if you are lacking money, it is best to concentrate on the main quests first as once you have finished all of those you may become bored so you can then start on the discovery quests 🙂
I would suggest you build the snow park (ice skating rink) first because you will need it for the seniors quest.
Do you have a car at one of your houses? If not you will also need to build the car dealership to buy a car to be able to complete another main quest, if you do have a car already you don’t need to worry about building the dealership just yet.
I would recommend you build the pet store at some point as well as you will need pets for a discovery quest and you really don’t want to be caught out if you start that quest without the pet store as you will not complete it in the time limit.

Love your blog! I understand the benefit of having Sims switch hobbies once they have maxed out their hobby. ( They earn more Simoleans and LPs) Is the benefit similar for switching careers?
Thanks! No, there isn’t a benefit to this as you will earn less money until you reach the highest level again so you might as well just stay at the highest level in that career.

It depends how difficult the issue is to fix and how many people they are currently trying to help, you just have to be patient.
Does the Ultimate Makeover allow you to change a Senior Sim go back to an Adult?

Hi. I have a weekly quest to send a sim to work with low hygeine. The problem is, just before I got the quest, I gave all my sims pieces of rainbow cake, so I don’t have anyone with low anything. Do you know of a way to get a sim dirty? I used to be able to just jump in a dirty pool a time or two, but now it won’t let me–I have to clean the pool before I can swim. I missed finishing last week’s quests because of this, and now I’m held up on this week’s as well.

You could kick over the trashcan then clean it up or clean up some dishes from the cooking hobby, these both decrease your sims hygiene.

I ‘ve played sims for so long, but I left it for a couple month ago, but I start to play it again now, it seems i’ve miss many quest (especially time limit quest reward). can I reset my hole game to new beginning so I can get those time limit rewards? it is possible that if i reset my game, so the time limit quest reward i missed from the previous game will be available?
If you reset your game you will be able to get the rewards for completing the main and discovery quests if you complete all those quests in the time limits this time.
Hi! I’ve completed all the basic quests (yeah!) but for some reason, since the last update, one of my horses is missing. The barn says I have five, but I can only find four.

When you complete all the main and discovery quests you still have the seasonal quests and time limited quests/events to complete as and when they add them to the game as well as building up your town and making it amazing 🙂
