What is the maximum amount of sims you can have in one house?
4 is the maximum for living in a house at one time but you can invite other sims over and have 10 in a house or public place at once
How Many Sims Can I Have In My Town?
How do I get a sim to sleep through an alarm?
Click on bed, choose the option
How do I call a sim?
Using a phone
How do I invite a sim over?
Make sure they aren’t busy, go to the house you want them and click the whistle next to their picture
How do I use a computer?
Click on a computer in the game and choose the option you need.
I can’t add a new sim, why?
You may have reached the sim limit, you need to wait until you level up to unlock a new sim but you don’t always unlock a new sim each level.
Why can’t I add another baby?
A couple can only have 2 children as only 4 sims can live in a house at one time
A material just appeared above my sims head! What is this for?
These materials, for example granite as shown in the image below are used to upgrade the monuments on the island that you unlock during the Raiders of the Lost Artifacts Quest:
Why do blue footprints appear when I try to use an item?
Blue footprints appear when your sim cannot access an item you want them to use, you need to either rotate the item or move an item that has been placed in front of it so they can use it
Do I need a birthday cake to age a sim?
Yes you need a birthday cake to age your sim to each life stage until you complete the Life Dreams and Legacies quest where your sims age automatically
If I bake a cake early will it be there when I need it?
Yes, it will be stored until you are ready to age your sim
Can I change my sims name/ gender etc?
How do I get two sims married?
Can I make my sims friends after they become nemesis?
Yes, just be nice until they become friends again
How do I save my game?
If you log into Game Center or Facebook in the game you can save it to one or both of those to save your game to the cloud. The game will save automatically each time you collect your daily reward but you can save it manually from the settings

They need to clean the pool first and then they should do the action.

Help! I put my preteen bed in my inventory but cannot find it! Why?
If you haven’t completed the preparing for preteens quest yet you will not be able to see the preteen tab where the bed will be, once you complete the quest the bed should reappear

How much do houses, businesses or workplaces cost to build?
The price varies depending on how many other houses, business or workplaces you have already built, each time you build another one the price will increase but it will only increase for similar buildings, for example, if you build a house the price will only increase for the next house you build, it will not increase for businesses or workplaces too

How much do workplaces cost to build?
The price varies depending on how many other workplaces you have already built, each time you build another one the price will increase but it will only increase for similar buildings, for example, if you build a workplace the price will only increase for the next workplace you build, it will not increase for businesses or houses too
What is the difference between a career and a profession?
With professions you can go to work with your sims and help them out during their shift, with careers they will just go to work for a set amount of time and return when they have finished

They can’t see it because they aren’t seeing the most up to date version of your game, you need to connect to the cloud for them to see this version of your game
I can only visit Another Simtown, what items are available there?
If I skip a social task with LP will I still get the reward?
Yes you will
What items are needed to create a great social house?

Main Quests
I have missed a main quest! Why can’t I start it yet?
You cannot miss main quests they have to be completed in order. You need to complete all previous quests (the order can be found here)
Can I complete a main quest even though I am passed the level it unlocks at?
Yes, it will start automatically once previous quests have been completed
What happens if I don’t complete in the time limit, can I still finish a main quest?
Yes you have to finish it before you can move onto the next quest
I didn’t complete in the time limit, can I restart the quest?
No, you cannot redo quests
Can I still get the prize if I don’t complete in the time limit?
No, the only way to get the limited time prizes is by completing the quest in the time limit
I don’t like a quest I am on! Can I just skip it?
No, you have to complete the quest before you can move onto the next one
Why are there two versions of some quests?
Some quests have two versions, as when the makers have updated the times for quests they haven’t updated them on all devices so some players still get the old times
What do you mean when you say a goal can be started early?
Any goal that you can normally do can be started early because you will have access to it and any goal that you can’t normally do you will have to wait until you get the goal to be able to complete it
The tip with this method is to put the sim doing that action early in a different house that you cannot go to until you get that goal or it will not work
Some times are slightly different on my game, why is this?
Times may vary depending on the star rating of the item you are using, as the higher star rating an item has the quicker you will complete a goal
Some times are really off/ different goals show for me, why is this?
This will be because the quest has been updated recently, I try my best to keep these posts up to date but it is difficult as I cannot redo every quest each time the game is updated. If you notice any changes please let me know so I can update the post

I don’t get the option to watch SimChef on TV, why?
You will not get the option until you get the goal when the quest starts
Why can’t I buy a toaster?
You need to place a toaster on a counter or table, it won’t let you buy it if you try to put it on the floor
I can’t make cheese on toast, why?
You need to have a stove and a toaster in your house to be able to make cheese on toast
How do I invite a sim over?
Click on the whistle next to a sim who isn’t busy on the simtracker, this post explains more about the simtracker
I can’t cook burgers why?
You need one sim to cook until they reach level 2 in cooking to unlock the burgers, if you use the same sim to cook for each cooking goal in this quest they will reach level 2 by the time you need to cook the burgers
Where can I find the chopping boards?
You need to complete the cooking hobby for the first time to unlock the chopping boards, they can then be found in the kitchen section of buy mode
Love is in the Air Quest
How do I get two sims in a house?
Click on the whistle next to a sim who isn’t busy on the simtracker
Why can’t my sim kiss another sim on the cheek?
You have probably been romantic too many times, you need to be dating to get this interaction, if they are already partners you won’t be able to do this task. To get around this you need a sim to be romantic to a different sim until they are dating so you can complete this goal
How do I send a sim home?
Click on the house with the arrow in it button next to a sim who isn’t busy on the simtracker
I can’t be romantic, why?
You cannot be romantic until you get the goal in this quest to be romantic
Two and a Half Sims Quest
I can’t place the magazines in my house, why?
You need to put them on a table or counter, you cannot place them on the floor
My sims won’t read the magazine, help!

Raiders of the Lost Artifacts Quest
How do I visit the island?
Click on the mysterious island bridge, this will take you to the island
I cannot find the third artifact, where do you find them?
You get them by random, by baking, gardening and using objects, I cannot tell you where to find them as any action can give you one. Try planting peppers or any other action that takes seconds to try and get it quickly
How long does it take to upgrade the riches of terra?
Go to the island and click on it and select upgrade and it will complete straightaway
Why haven’t you posted about monuments yet?

You can find it in your inventory under career and hobby items

No exclamation marks appear above items to clean up, what should I do?
Just click on items when a sim is there and it will come up with options on the things that need clearing
Can I have more than 4 sims cleaning the mess up at the stables?
Yes, you can have up to 10 sims at a place so 8 sims can clear the 8 items at the same time
How do I practice brushing another sim?
Select the interaction between two sims
My game says there is something under construction when I try to repair a stable, what do I do?
Firstly you need to read the pop up as it tells you exactly what is under construction, once you have go there and click on it to finish building, then you will be able to repair the stable (it will be something you have built previously but probably just haven’t clicked to finish building yet!)

Hidden Unicorn Quest
Which is the unicorn jumping gate?
This is the arena at the stables that is not next to the other two gates
How do I bake rocky road?
Click on a stove and select baking and find rocky road
Does it matter if the rocky road burns?
No it will still complete the goal
My game says there is something under construction when I try to repair the gate, what do I do?

What is the magic castle?
The playhouse that is to the left at the swim center
How do I feed my toddler a snack?
You need an adult sim to select the interaction on a toddler
Does the cat stay at the swim center once the quest is complete?
No, it will disappear
Where are the dancing trees?

Does the adult need to clean up all the pee puddles?

I can’t afford simtown elementary, how can I earn more simoleons?

How do I serve the food?

I cannot find Wumples/Santa/Grouch! What should I do?
Firstly restart your device then try looking around all your houses in simtown for them, they have got to be somewhere!
Pizza is locked, how do I cook it?
Your sim needs to be level 2 at cooking and have a microwave at that house
I cannot make the quiche, it is greyed out, why?
Your sim needs to be level 4 at cooking and have a 2 star fridge and stove
How do I give the mud pie to the Grouch? It disappeared!
You don’t see the mud pie, just click on the Grouch and select the option to give mudpie
My game says there is something under construction when I try to open the front door, what do I do?
Firstly you need to read the pop up as it tells you exactly what is under construction, once you have go there and click on it to finish building, then you will be able to open the front door to the restaurant (it will be something you have built previously but probably just haven’t clicked to finish building yet!)
An Alien Concept: Weather Machines Quest
How do I send my sim to the park?
Go to the park and click on the whistle next to a sim who isn’t busy on the simtracker
How do I become friends with the alien?
Be nice to Osiris until your sim becomes friends with him, do this again to become best friends when you get that goal
I have spent S16,000 on items but the goal will not complete, why?
Make sure you are just buying items from the electronics section of buy mode
How do I negotiate with a sim eating plant?
You need to grow lettuce until it turns into a sim eating plant then when it has you will be able to negotiate with it
How do I get my sims to woohoo?
You need two sims who are partners to be able to get this interaction
I already have a world globe, do I have to buy another one?
Yes you do or you cannot complete this quest
I don’t have a stereo, where can I find one?
You can buy one from the electronics section
Multi Story Renovations Quest
I can’t afford the community center, how can I earn more simoleons?

No, you cannot build the community center until you get the goal in this quest
The game says I have to complete the multi story renovations quest to be able to build the community center, what is the problem?
There is no problem, you have to start the multi story quest and the first goal is to build the community center so you cannot build it until you get that first goal in the quest
How do I send my sim to the community center?
Go to the community center and click on the whistle next to a sim who isn’t busy on the simtracker
I don’t understand what you mean when you say you can do both call the home store/ hotline goals at once to save time?
This goal appears twice so it is like being able to start a goal early that you have access to (read the question below if you don’t understand this) to do this you need two sims and two different houses:
1- When you get the goal to call home store you can set sim 1 to do the task
2- In a different house which you need to stay away from until you get the second goal you can have sim 2 also do the task
3- When sim 1 is done you complete the goal the first time
4- Wait until you get the goal again to call home store and you can go to sim 2 to complete it straight away!
Does it matter if the banana bread burns? Will the goal still complete?
The goal will still complete even if it causes a fire
I crafted the 1st set of woodworking items before I got the task to, my game now won’t complete the goal, what should I do?
You will need to find the next 3 items in the second row to complete this goal
I completed the quest but I cannot place stairs, why?
Firstly make sure you have rooms upstairs and also give this post a read, it explains how to add stairs to a house

You need to use the blackboard at the community center

Help, all items are greyed out apart from the magazines! What should I do?
Buy the magazines again, this should allow you to access the rest of buy mode
Do I need a teen for this quest?
Yes, in this quest you complete the teen idol hobby for the first time so a teen is required to complete all the goals
Can I have more than one teen doing this at once?
No, only one teen can be the teen idol and complete this hobby at one time
I have done the task write 3 pieces of music but it will not complete, why?
You need to write 3 different pieces, you cannot just do the task 3 times
Why can’t I buy the microphone yet?
You need to find all 3 pieces of music on the keyboard, then all 3 on the bass guitar, then all 3 on the drum kit, then all 3 on the guitar and then you will be able to buy the microphone
I cannot find one of the pieces, what should I do?
Some take longer to get than others to find so just keep going, you will find them eventually!
Adulthood Quest
How do I send my sim to the park?
Go to the park and click on the whistle next to a sim who isn’t busy on the simtracker
Do I need to use a teen for these tasks?
No, all can be done with an adult
How do I call a sim to the swim center?

Do I need the snow park to complete this quest?
Yes you do, you cannot complete the goal to visit the snow park without it
You cannot do this at a neighbours town, quest goals can only be completed in your town
How do I send my sim to the swim center?

I don’t have the option to feed or investigate the pigeons, why?
Make sure you using an adult sim
How do I search garbage for a cupcake?
Kick over the trash can first then you will get the option

What are discovery quests?

Why can’t I do a discovery quest yet?
You cannot do more than one discovery quest at the same time, if you are currently on another discovery quest you will not be able to do another one until that is completed
Can I do discovery quests at the same time as a main quest?
Yes you can
Do I have to do a discovery quest?
If you don’t start the quest you don’t have to do it at all but if you have already started it you need to complete it before you can move on to the next quest
I haven’t started a discovery quest yet, will it still be available when I want to do it?
Yes it will be, you can choose to start it whenever you like
What happens if I don’t complete in the time limit, can I still finish a quest?
Yes you have to finish it before you can move onto the next discovery quest

How do I start this discovery quest?
Build the sorcerous supplies store to start this quest
Does the time limit start when I click to build or once the building has complete?
Once it has finished building the quest and time limit will begin
Why can’t I do this discovery quest yet?
You cannot do more than one discovery quest at the same time, if you are currently on another one you will not be able to do this one until that one is completed
Is it possible to complete this quest in the time limit?
Yes it is
How do I unlock the door to the wand room?
Select randomly rearrange
How do I place the magic wand podium, I can’t find it!
It will be in the hobby and career items section of your inventory
Everytime my sim gazes into the crystal ball it says ‘this place is too crowded’ why?
If you already have a sim at the wizards cottage you will get this message, use the simtracker to go to the sim who is already there instead of using the crystal ball
Can I do all the distract a mummy tasks at the same time?
No you can’t, you can only do them one at a time
How do I pack up the magic wand podium?
Click on it to pack up
The magic wand podium has disappeared once I’ve picked it up! How do I complete the hobby?

One of them is stuck with a bit day cake over her head and the only option I have is to reverse her back to the beginning of adulthood for 12LP. Did you give them the orbs through the pause button? Because if you give them a platinum orb in the wardrobe I think they will still age
When you relocate a family to a new home, it would be nice if your pet(s) would relocate with you! Have you figured out how to do it?
you do this by clicking on the pet and selecting relocate after the family have moved.

Hi, I deleted my Facebook about two months ago and now I can’t get on the Party Boat. I’ve made sure I was logged on Game Center and but it still won’t let me. I always thought that the Game Center and Facebook were two different profiles? Is there something I’m supposed to do to access it or should I just contact EA?

They are two different profiles, does it not allow you to open game center on your device? I’m not sure EA would be able to help with game center but you could give it a try!
I was able to figure it out. I had to log in to Facebook from Freeplay (which reactivated my account) and confirm the app. Then, I went back to Freeplay and logged out of Facebook so only GameCenter was left and then I deactivated my Facebook again. Simple! But frustrating. Lol
Is it best to keep at least 1 sim for every hobby that I have completed the 1st collection?
This is just in case that EA might come up with another contest like the skating. Would need a level 6 to speed up collection. Still have not completed that hobby, what with its dreadful 12 hour task. Trimmed down from 9 sims to 1 sim only.
Or do you just completely give up some of the hobbies you dont care in order to focus more on hobbies that give you more LPS or $?
I would always get a sim to level 6 and complete a hobby at least once just incase EA make it a hobby event but that doesn’t mean once they have completed it they need to stay on that hobby.
Most of my sims just do the cooking hobby, I would definitely never do fishing or sea shell collecting again!
So if I get a sim up to Level 6 in skating for example & have completed the 1st collection, then get the sim to do another hobby instead, and then return back to the skating hobby after a while, will it be like doing the skating hobby the 1st time, meaning having to unlock the collectibles stage by stage? Or would it be easier to redo the skating hobby even if the Original sim doing the hobby has to start from the Level 1 again. This is presuming there is no other sim doing the skating hobby at the same time. I hope I am clear enough ( I sound confusing myself…;-) )
I am definitely quitting the skating hobby once my sim unlocks ski lift & the outfits. 12 hour is just too long. I can think of better ways in earning the 3 LPs.
No it won’t, you will start where you got to, if you complete the collection the first time and then stop, when you start again you restart the collection and will be completing it for the second time to unlock either a second prize or LPs
Question, and I can’t seem to find it anywhere, even on the Firemonkeys website. One a hat is put on, is there any way to remove it? I’ve tried all conventional means and simply need to remove this dumb looking hat.

I have used your site many times to assist me when I run into problems in freeplay and when i want to know what to prepare for in an up coming quest. It has been a great help and I thank you for all of it. I have run into a problem that I cannot find an answer to… It has happened twice in the last week. Every night before bed I inspire all my Sims and set them to an 8 to 9 hour task. It could be planting or a hobby when I come back in the morning and they have completed the task they are all sick. They sway and grab their stomachs, they never vomit and will not respond to being sent for another task. Any ideas what would cause this? Oh and I’m not moving or shaking my phone. Thanks!

I think I have finally found the issue! I had to recalibrate my g sensor and everything is good now.
The ringlets of fire quest is starting on July 20. I have not participated in this quest before as I started playing this year April. Any world of advice as to how to get all 9 hairpieces? I already have 2 sims into fashion designing & 2 fashion studios. One sim is Level 6 & the other is more than halfway. Should I start buying additional fashion studios & add more sims to start leveling up b4 the contest starts?
You don’t need any more sims to level up as you have already got a sim on level 6 that will be fine but I would definitely recommend buying a few more fashion studios now for it, but just remember you will probably have to buy one during the quest

Have you tried clicking on the hobby tab, finding the fashion designer hobby but it doesn’t show hairstyles as the prize? (if it does then you will just need to start doing the hobby)

I noticed before they disappeared, when I tried to put railings it didn’t work and it said I didn’t finish the quests but I know I did. The only suggestion I can really give you is to restart your device, that usually makes it reappear, if not then you would need to contact EA to see if they can fix this problem for you

It won’t let me enroll my teens into high school… When they were pretend it wouldn’t let me send them to school but it used to let me. I tried enrolling them into high school now and it said it was locked.. I tried making them study and all that but it didn’t work

Hi, after the new update I think my game got some glitches, so after the update I try to go into the game but it just exit back to my home screen so I try it a few times and after that I try to power off my device then after that I try to go into the game about 5-6 times and it work but then all my actions get cancelled and I do it again and it’s fine I thought is just the update, so I’m playing the game and it suddenly exit back to the home screen AGAIN so I try to log into the game like about 10 times and it didn’t work so I power off my device and log into the game again for 2 tries, but my actions get cancelled ! Please help me, ever since the new baby update came in yesterday I can’t get into my game, I’ve uninstalled and then reinstalled the game several times, I think what the problem is I can’t get the game to connect to the cloud properly, it keeps freezing on the sims symbol and then throwing me out, my thanks if you can help

you need to start the nanny knows quest to be able to get these new options.
With the latest update July 2015 did you have to “top off” all of your sims with their age level life dreams? I had to make everyone who already completed their age level life dream (ready to age) go back and do whatever action they did for one-ish rounds to get them back to “Advance Age”. Ugh.

I’ve been having problems completing hobbies recently. I’ve been having two sims work on ice skating simultaneously for the last few weeks and I just can’t get the last medal! This is also now the case with the survivalist hobby; I have one badge left and no matter how many times I have my sim do the hobby I can’t get the last badge! This is very frustrating because I need the last medal for ice skating to unlock the ski lift (when I’ve played this game previously I haven’t had this problem) and the last badge for the survivalist hobby to unlock everything else at the campground! Is there any advice you can give me or does this sound like an EA issue/glitch? Thanks so much!
unfortunately that’s just how the game goes really, sometimes the hobbies take forever to complete and you find the same one several times, there isn’t really much I can suggest apart from keep trying, you will get there eventually!
Do you have a blog post about pets? What they can be used for? Different types of pets/accessories?
My main question is now that our sims are dying (after life stages quest) — do pets die too? If not, when a sim dies that has a pet – what happens to that pet? Do you lose it? Should you transfer it before letting your sim pass on?
Another question – do you need a rabbit for anything? any quest/goal that you have seen?

Pets don’t die when their owners do, they will just stay in the empty house they live in so you can relocate to another house if you want to

Hi, for a quest I have to take my preteen to a neighbours house. As soon as I get there it goes straight back home and becomes ill. What is going on and how do I prevent this from happening?
A lot of people have this problem and I don’t know why, you may have to contact EA to see if they can fix it for you

I am on level 13 and I didn’t get to do the A Quest for toddlers on level 12 what is wrong?
Nothings wrong, you don’t get it at that level if you haven’t completed previous quests
My game seems to have stopped auto saving. When i go back to the game they aren’t doing the tasks so dont think I’ll be able to complete Nanny task in time.

My sims won’t make any progress in tasks? Like figure skating takes 12 hours and I wait till the next day and I see that it made no progress at all? It happened to all tasks I do. It’s still at 1 minute in and doesn’t make anymore progress. I used the little time “cheat” where u changed the time and I tried changing the time to a year ahead and still no progress. Please help!

I just updated my game, and a message popped up saying I missed the pirate fashion pack, even though that mission is still in the queue. Do you know what happened?
I think it was just a glitch, you should be able to get the pirate pack still when you complete the quest in time
How do I get my baby “play with food”? when baby is placed on a highchair and then i click for actions, no “play with food appears.. only “give food”.
you need to be the baby and click on the baby to get the option
