Connecting to the cloud is how you save your game so if you ever have a problem with your device or want to change devices knowing how to connect to the cloud will stop you from losing your game, for example, if you wanted to change your device you would be able to get your game onto that new device within 7 days and you won’t have to start all over again- it is a good idea to do it everyday just as a back up in case! (it does automatically do it if you connect to the party boat but it is always useful to know how to do it yourself)
Connecting to the Cloud
To connect to the cloud you need to firstly be connected to Facebook, Apple, Game Center or Google Play Games (how to connect to Facebook and Game Center are covered in my Adding Neighbours post as both these can be used to add neighbours)
Sign in with Apple is a new option for Apple products so you can sign in with your Apple ID (on the settings screen- see under ‘uploading’ in this post- click on the key button (bottom right) to sign in with your Apple ID:
Sorry I no longer have an Android so I cannot show you how to connect your game to Google Play Games (this is where you download your games from)
Uploading
Once connected go into settings in the game (click on the green button with 3 white dots on it) you will then see these options:
Click on the cloud button and you will see this window appear:
Click upload save data and your game will be saved

Help! My neighbours can’t see an item in my town, why is that? They can’t see it because they aren’t seeing the most up to date version of your game, you need to connect to the cloud for them to see this version of your game.
Downloading
If you are transferring to a different device you can select on that device from in the game ‘download save data’ and you will have your game back as long as you are connected to the same account that you saved your game from on your other device:
NOTE: if you are planning to go from an Android to an Apple or the other way around and you want to keep your game, make sure you save to Facebook as this is the only option to save available on both devices.
Unable to connect to the cloud?
If you can’t connect click on the Facebook icon in the settings and it will probably say unknown user so log out and log in again and it should work! If it still isn’t working you may want to contact the makers to see if there is anything they can do to fix this for you, this post explains how to contact them if you are unsure.

Hi Girl Who Games 😉Usually I read all comments and find my answer but this time I decided to write in. Firstly I want to say not only do I love your blog but I’ve needed it more then I’d care to admit. And I do care to admit that you sre amazing , beautiful and smart 😉 I actually look forward to being stuck on something and get caught up reading your help as well as your comments back to your questions 😛 I’m sure you hear it from all the boys who game Lol now to the issue… I have been trying to connect to my Facebook account in order to add some friends and complete the social quests – dang magazines. So the Facebook button didn’t show at all (my cloud connects through Google plus or game center I believe) and that’s an account I created for this specific tablet so no friends. 😤 Now I also want to point out that I started this game July 15th – or really my son started a new game and the last time I played would have been 2 October’s ago on my android device and had logged onto my Facebook to save that game. Now after reading a bunch of advice about how to get the Facebook log in to show I came the conclusion that I would need to save my latest progress and uninstall and reinstall the app. I did, and with my luck the Facebook button reappeared! With out warning it connected to my Facebook (did not ask me to allow or if I was signing into the right account like most apps just one click and I was connected) NOWWWWW it wants to download my data from “99+weeks ago” ugh my new version was saved last night and I apparently only have 7 days to restore but it’s nowhere to be found. I’ve created a new Facebook with the same Gmail as my game center email that I originally saved my newest game to. I have uninstalled and reinstalled about 4 additional times. Signed into the new facebook, signed into both, signed into only game center, nothing works to find my game uploaded yesterday. I also want to point out I haven’t signed into the 99+ week game in fear it will erase my newest one. The 99+ one is connected to a lot of neighbors , level 27 , alot of money and tons of quests completed (excluding the new updates) but I want to continue the game I started with my son. Please tell me you can help? If not how do I contact EA? Or is there a place I can log on and view my saved game from “The Cloud” , because I am not totally sure if the cloud is similar to an IOS cloud because I don’t remember signing up for logging in with any of my information with The SimsFreeplay app. I am hoping you can help soon if I only have 7 days to get my game back😢! You definitely saved your progress? Then that game should still be there somewhere! Have you tried disconnecting from facebook then logging in with the game center again? Once you are logged in with game center press the refresh button on the cloud- hopefully that will bring your latest game up and you will be able to open that again and then log into facebook to save it to facebook and overwrite your previous game.
If this doesn’t work you may need to contact EA (this post explains how: https://thegirlwhogames.wordpress.com/2016/05/29/the-sims-freeplay-contacting-ea-firemonkeys/) as I’m not sure what else to suggest, sorry I couldn’t be more help!
I want to download my saved data on a device which I used to play sims freeplay on it. But I am not getting my latest upload data! I am getting a saved data from 87 week ago! Please help! If I accept to download these data (from 87 week ago) will the actual saved data be erased? Thank you.
The saved data from 87 weeks ago is the only saved data available it seems, you could contact EA if this isn’t the saved game you want but they may not be able to help recover your game.

Hi girl who Games, How can I transfer my progress from one device to the other. I play on my kindle but also have it on my tablet. So can I transfer my progress from one to the other. You say you have a tablet but you haven’t specified what tablet- is it android or an apple product? And are you saving your game to game center, Facebook or Google play games?

cloud switched my accounts. how do switch to account with correct data.
I was at level 36 in the middle.of the spa.quest. I bought 4 houses from 19.99 up . ninopened castle, opened ship. I opened hospital career. I opened police I opened mall opened resterant and not i dont have anything after a reinstall. I spent over 400 over the time on this game . now I got nothing and fire monkey won’t respond I have conflict messages. 5 quest is questionable one is for the spa’ the hospital professional ‘bread winner tell me where is the paid for items ie. housesbt b e latest house was a holoween house cause I wanted things from house . I have bought houses with spa I completed basement task and again I spent lots of hundreds of dollars please restore apparently cloud did not restore and game save didn’t work I have print out that I was at level 36 in had 34 sims
Did you save your game to the cloud regularly? Did you save that game to a different account? If so log into that one to see if your game is there. Apart from this, unfortunately there is nothing I can do, I do not work for EA so you will have to keep trying with Firemonkeys to see if there is anything they can do.

You will still be able to access your game.

If you didn’t save the game you lost then unfortunately you will not be able to recover it, I would suggest you contact EA to see if there is anything they can do to help with this issue.

I have never needed to ask a question before because I always find what I’m looking for in your posts. So this is my first.
My current game is on level 43. All quests and discovery quests completed ages ago. I’m just playing now to collect orbs, which is starting to get a bit boring but will continue until the bitter end! My device is an android tablet. When I first started the game I logged in via Google Play and have a game centre id. I do not have Facebook.
I understand that you can start a new game on the same device as long as you create a second game centre account with a different id, log out of the first game, then log into the second account to start a new game, without losing the existing game.
Problem is, I have absolutely no idea how to do all of this and am hoping you may be able to point me in the right direction?

To be honest I would not recommend at all having two games on one device because if something goes wrong you could just end up losing one or both of the games!
If you really wanted to do it you need to use a different social network account so you are using your google +/google play for one, you would have to log out of this account and then log in with a different either google account or facebook to be able to save the other game to a different account (this is the last button on the right in the game settings) but it is more trouble than it is worth, if you accidentally saved to the wrong account and your device crashed you would only be able to get one game back.
with the county homestead quest from day one of start this even if have many I bought benches and have many sims doing a 5 or 12 hour impossible task .. we are now at 3 days left and 4 squares still not opened saying new item coming up. these task are rather long and impossible to complete. . arcade area nit open , still have not advanced in movie quest, still have nor opened up more police station rooms or jobs , didn’t complete villa quest, couldnt complet spa qurst, the hospital quest only one room or career open . these task are unrealistic or very expensive requiring 200 plus life points with in real money is up to $49.99 soooo it would cost a gamer $300.00 real dollars for career advancement or to open up one building completely. I was told sim people earn point and make advancemenrs free .hey, that is so untrue… all your sims can work on a task and you still can’t complete or time is cut short. I and other do love the GAME …please let up open up building and career advancement and other luxury for our sims with out such great exspence.

If you saved before you sent your phone off to be fixed then you should be able to download the most up to date version of your game once you get it back.

After I downloaded overall 547 mb on a new device, it led me to the page where you can ‘start a new game’ or ‘download from iCloud’ like when the game appears to be the first time, so I chose the latter as I was afraid a whole new game might overwrite my saved game–I was signed in on the same account at this point. That’s where it searched for the saved data 3 days ago and asked, “Would you like to use this?”, I said yes. After a few minutes there was another pop-up that asked me again if I wanted to download “The Sims Freeplay content”. I clicked again yes then that’s where I found out I have to download another 668 mb!! I don’t understand, I thought it would simply lead me straight back into my old game right away after the step ‘download save data’. What was it? Was it my actual progress? I believed I had downloaded everything, the latest update etc. All I wanted to know was if there’s a difference if I clicked ‘no thanks’. What would it look like? I didn’t know they were going to ask that because it wasn’t mentioned on their site. What should I do? Should I click the start new game via the current facebook and would the download save data show up without having to download the 668 mb? I’m looking for an easier way to get back

The download size is fairly small so you need to download the additional content to be able to access all the content, if you clicked no then you wouldn’t have all the features but if you don’t have the space then click no, I wouldn’t recommend starting a new game though as you will still get this pop up appear again and you will have lost all your data.
So here’s my problem. My cousin reset my game and uploaded it to the cloud. I read that the game progress is saved with Facebook. She was on her Facebook account and before I let her log in to her game, I saved my progress. Is there any way I can get my progress back? I was on level 54 and I have achieved so much. I really don’t want o start all over.
Have you tried logging back into your facebook account on the game and seeing if your saved data is available?

I’ve visited a neighbor in my game who has almost 200 sims. how they do that? also i notice that in one house setting there is almost 25 people in it now how is that possible ?.
I’d love to have more then 30 sims, and really we should have able to have more then 10 sims on a location when you have seats and space for more.
suggestions….. more furniture, rug textures and accessories with better colors . curtains are NICE and should have a variety of colors and work behind objects. more the two people to work on a job site at any time. more buildings , hobbies and careers. have sims clean house, yard york etc..preteen to have chores. more pets. more stuff for infants . …..
This person has cheated, I wouldn’t recommend trying this as it will really mess up your game and make it almost unplayable, the reason why you cannot have that many sims is the game will become incredibly slow and crashes a lot- I would be surprised if your neighbour can even play the game anymore!
Hi, I was wondering if my old game progress would still remain in my old device or is it completely transferred to new device and restart the game for the old one?
It will still be on your old device but you can then go into settings and click start a new game, just make sure you are saving them to different social accounts otherwise you will overwrite the other game each time you save.
Hi so I was wondering- if I habe two different Android (Samsung ) phones, can I play on them at the same time? Also, if I play on device one, will the progress be the same on device 2? Do you want to play the same game on both devices? I wouldn’t really recommend that because if you forget to save you could lose progress in the game but you can do it as long as you save the game once you finish playing on one device and then select download saved data before playing on the second device and then save before going back to the first, it is a lot of effort though! To do this your devices need to be saved to the same social media profile for example facebook. If you wanted to play two separate games you cannot use the same profile to save the games to as it will just overwrite the previous game each time and you could end up losing one.

I don’t know if this has been already asked before. I’m reasonably new to the game, I only started playing before Christmas. Unfortunately there were one or two Live Events I missed out on because due to my inexperience I didn’t really know what to do. I only worked out what to do on the Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow Live Event when there were about 48 hours left and I didn’t realise I could extend my time either. Once I did realise how to do it with the craft stations etc, even though I stayed up until the early hours trying to get enough to get as many stations going as I could I only got as far as the shelves and I really want the hairdressing / styling chairs. Can you play on two devices with a different account and re-play the events then transfer the prizes to another player? namely myself?

You can play on two different devices with different accounts but you cannot redo events, once the time limit is up the event is over for everyone until they bring it back and you also cannot transfer anything to another player or game. Events usually return so I would recommend you just wait for it to come back in the future

Can I transfer to a new device with the Game Centre account only? Or do we must connect to Facebook for it to work? Transferring from Apple to Apple. I have no access to my old FB anymore, can I also register new FB account to the game without losing any data.

As you are transferring from an apple device to another apple device you will be fine with just using game center. Just remember to upload your save data just before transferring and make sure you are connected to the same game center and you’ll be fine 🙂
I was on level 40 the last time i played sims freeplay, i just reinstalled it but it started from level 32. is there any way it can load those levels ? It was connected to facebook btw
Did you upload your save data to the cloud before you deleted it? If not then you will have lost progress so you will not be able to get those levels back unfortunately.
I am trying to download my saved data from the cloud but it thinks about it for a while and then takes me back to the download page. I have seen a few people posting with this problem but can’t find out whether it is able to be resolved. Please help.
