What is the maximum amount of sims you can have in one house?
4 is the maximum for living in a house at one time but you can invite other sims over and have 10 in a house or public place at once
How Many Sims Can I Have In My Town?
How do I get a sim to sleep through an alarm?
Click on bed, choose the option
How do I call a sim?
Using a phone
How do I invite a sim over?
Make sure they aren’t busy, go to the house you want them and click the whistle next to their picture
How do I use a computer?
Click on a computer in the game and choose the option you need.
I can’t add a new sim, why?
You may have reached the sim limit, you need to wait until you level up to unlock a new sim but you don’t always unlock a new sim each level.
Why can’t I add another baby?
A couple can only have 2 children as only 4 sims can live in a house at one time
A material just appeared above my sims head! What is this for?
These materials, for example granite as shown in the image below are used to upgrade the monuments on the island that you unlock during the Raiders of the Lost Artifacts Quest:
Why do blue footprints appear when I try to use an item?
Blue footprints appear when your sim cannot access an item you want them to use, you need to either rotate the item or move an item that has been placed in front of it so they can use it
Do I need a birthday cake to age a sim?
Yes you need a birthday cake to age your sim to each life stage until you complete the Life Dreams and Legacies quest where your sims age automatically
If I bake a cake early will it be there when I need it?
Yes, it will be stored until you are ready to age your sim
Can I change my sims name/ gender etc?
How do I get two sims married?
Can I make my sims friends after they become nemesis?
Yes, just be nice until they become friends again
How do I save my game?
If you log into Game Center or Facebook in the game you can save it to one or both of those to save your game to the cloud. The game will save automatically each time you collect your daily reward but you can save it manually from the settings

They need to clean the pool first and then they should do the action.

Help! I put my preteen bed in my inventory but cannot find it! Why?
If you haven’t completed the preparing for preteens quest yet you will not be able to see the preteen tab where the bed will be, once you complete the quest the bed should reappear

How much do houses, businesses or workplaces cost to build?
The price varies depending on how many other houses, business or workplaces you have already built, each time you build another one the price will increase but it will only increase for similar buildings, for example, if you build a house the price will only increase for the next house you build, it will not increase for businesses or workplaces too

How much do workplaces cost to build?
The price varies depending on how many other workplaces you have already built, each time you build another one the price will increase but it will only increase for similar buildings, for example, if you build a workplace the price will only increase for the next workplace you build, it will not increase for businesses or houses too
What is the difference between a career and a profession?
With professions you can go to work with your sims and help them out during their shift, with careers they will just go to work for a set amount of time and return when they have finished

They can’t see it because they aren’t seeing the most up to date version of your game, you need to connect to the cloud for them to see this version of your game
I can only visit Another Simtown, what items are available there?
If I skip a social task with LP will I still get the reward?
Yes you will
What items are needed to create a great social house?

Main Quests
I have missed a main quest! Why can’t I start it yet?
You cannot miss main quests they have to be completed in order. You need to complete all previous quests (the order can be found here)
Can I complete a main quest even though I am passed the level it unlocks at?
Yes, it will start automatically once previous quests have been completed
What happens if I don’t complete in the time limit, can I still finish a main quest?
Yes you have to finish it before you can move onto the next quest
I didn’t complete in the time limit, can I restart the quest?
No, you cannot redo quests
Can I still get the prize if I don’t complete in the time limit?
No, the only way to get the limited time prizes is by completing the quest in the time limit
I don’t like a quest I am on! Can I just skip it?
No, you have to complete the quest before you can move onto the next one
Why are there two versions of some quests?
Some quests have two versions, as when the makers have updated the times for quests they haven’t updated them on all devices so some players still get the old times
What do you mean when you say a goal can be started early?
Any goal that you can normally do can be started early because you will have access to it and any goal that you can’t normally do you will have to wait until you get the goal to be able to complete it
The tip with this method is to put the sim doing that action early in a different house that you cannot go to until you get that goal or it will not work
Some times are slightly different on my game, why is this?
Times may vary depending on the star rating of the item you are using, as the higher star rating an item has the quicker you will complete a goal
Some times are really off/ different goals show for me, why is this?
This will be because the quest has been updated recently, I try my best to keep these posts up to date but it is difficult as I cannot redo every quest each time the game is updated. If you notice any changes please let me know so I can update the post

I don’t get the option to watch SimChef on TV, why?
You will not get the option until you get the goal when the quest starts
Why can’t I buy a toaster?
You need to place a toaster on a counter or table, it won’t let you buy it if you try to put it on the floor
I can’t make cheese on toast, why?
You need to have a stove and a toaster in your house to be able to make cheese on toast
How do I invite a sim over?
Click on the whistle next to a sim who isn’t busy on the simtracker, this post explains more about the simtracker
I can’t cook burgers why?
You need one sim to cook until they reach level 2 in cooking to unlock the burgers, if you use the same sim to cook for each cooking goal in this quest they will reach level 2 by the time you need to cook the burgers
Where can I find the chopping boards?
You need to complete the cooking hobby for the first time to unlock the chopping boards, they can then be found in the kitchen section of buy mode
Love is in the Air Quest
How do I get two sims in a house?
Click on the whistle next to a sim who isn’t busy on the simtracker
Why can’t my sim kiss another sim on the cheek?
You have probably been romantic too many times, you need to be dating to get this interaction, if they are already partners you won’t be able to do this task. To get around this you need a sim to be romantic to a different sim until they are dating so you can complete this goal
How do I send a sim home?
Click on the house with the arrow in it button next to a sim who isn’t busy on the simtracker
I can’t be romantic, why?
You cannot be romantic until you get the goal in this quest to be romantic
Two and a Half Sims Quest
I can’t place the magazines in my house, why?
You need to put them on a table or counter, you cannot place them on the floor
My sims won’t read the magazine, help!

Raiders of the Lost Artifacts Quest
How do I visit the island?
Click on the mysterious island bridge, this will take you to the island
I cannot find the third artifact, where do you find them?
You get them by random, by baking, gardening and using objects, I cannot tell you where to find them as any action can give you one. Try planting peppers or any other action that takes seconds to try and get it quickly
How long does it take to upgrade the riches of terra?
Go to the island and click on it and select upgrade and it will complete straightaway
Why haven’t you posted about monuments yet?

You can find it in your inventory under career and hobby items

No exclamation marks appear above items to clean up, what should I do?
Just click on items when a sim is there and it will come up with options on the things that need clearing
Can I have more than 4 sims cleaning the mess up at the stables?
Yes, you can have up to 10 sims at a place so 8 sims can clear the 8 items at the same time
How do I practice brushing another sim?
Select the interaction between two sims
My game says there is something under construction when I try to repair a stable, what do I do?
Firstly you need to read the pop up as it tells you exactly what is under construction, once you have go there and click on it to finish building, then you will be able to repair the stable (it will be something you have built previously but probably just haven’t clicked to finish building yet!)

Hidden Unicorn Quest
Which is the unicorn jumping gate?
This is the arena at the stables that is not next to the other two gates
How do I bake rocky road?
Click on a stove and select baking and find rocky road
Does it matter if the rocky road burns?
No it will still complete the goal
My game says there is something under construction when I try to repair the gate, what do I do?

What is the magic castle?
The playhouse that is to the left at the swim center
How do I feed my toddler a snack?
You need an adult sim to select the interaction on a toddler
Does the cat stay at the swim center once the quest is complete?
No, it will disappear
Where are the dancing trees?

Does the adult need to clean up all the pee puddles?

I can’t afford simtown elementary, how can I earn more simoleons?

How do I serve the food?

I cannot find Wumples/Santa/Grouch! What should I do?
Firstly restart your device then try looking around all your houses in simtown for them, they have got to be somewhere!
Pizza is locked, how do I cook it?
Your sim needs to be level 2 at cooking and have a microwave at that house
I cannot make the quiche, it is greyed out, why?
Your sim needs to be level 4 at cooking and have a 2 star fridge and stove
How do I give the mud pie to the Grouch? It disappeared!
You don’t see the mud pie, just click on the Grouch and select the option to give mudpie
My game says there is something under construction when I try to open the front door, what do I do?
Firstly you need to read the pop up as it tells you exactly what is under construction, once you have go there and click on it to finish building, then you will be able to open the front door to the restaurant (it will be something you have built previously but probably just haven’t clicked to finish building yet!)
An Alien Concept: Weather Machines Quest
How do I send my sim to the park?
Go to the park and click on the whistle next to a sim who isn’t busy on the simtracker
How do I become friends with the alien?
Be nice to Osiris until your sim becomes friends with him, do this again to become best friends when you get that goal
I have spent S16,000 on items but the goal will not complete, why?
Make sure you are just buying items from the electronics section of buy mode
How do I negotiate with a sim eating plant?
You need to grow lettuce until it turns into a sim eating plant then when it has you will be able to negotiate with it
How do I get my sims to woohoo?
You need two sims who are partners to be able to get this interaction
I already have a world globe, do I have to buy another one?
Yes you do or you cannot complete this quest
I don’t have a stereo, where can I find one?
You can buy one from the electronics section
Multi Story Renovations Quest
I can’t afford the community center, how can I earn more simoleons?

No, you cannot build the community center until you get the goal in this quest
The game says I have to complete the multi story renovations quest to be able to build the community center, what is the problem?
There is no problem, you have to start the multi story quest and the first goal is to build the community center so you cannot build it until you get that first goal in the quest
How do I send my sim to the community center?
Go to the community center and click on the whistle next to a sim who isn’t busy on the simtracker
I don’t understand what you mean when you say you can do both call the home store/ hotline goals at once to save time?
This goal appears twice so it is like being able to start a goal early that you have access to (read the question below if you don’t understand this) to do this you need two sims and two different houses:
1- When you get the goal to call home store you can set sim 1 to do the task
2- In a different house which you need to stay away from until you get the second goal you can have sim 2 also do the task
3- When sim 1 is done you complete the goal the first time
4- Wait until you get the goal again to call home store and you can go to sim 2 to complete it straight away!
Does it matter if the banana bread burns? Will the goal still complete?
The goal will still complete even if it causes a fire
I crafted the 1st set of woodworking items before I got the task to, my game now won’t complete the goal, what should I do?
You will need to find the next 3 items in the second row to complete this goal
I completed the quest but I cannot place stairs, why?
Firstly make sure you have rooms upstairs and also give this post a read, it explains how to add stairs to a house

You need to use the blackboard at the community center

Help, all items are greyed out apart from the magazines! What should I do?
Buy the magazines again, this should allow you to access the rest of buy mode
Do I need a teen for this quest?
Yes, in this quest you complete the teen idol hobby for the first time so a teen is required to complete all the goals
Can I have more than one teen doing this at once?
No, only one teen can be the teen idol and complete this hobby at one time
I have done the task write 3 pieces of music but it will not complete, why?
You need to write 3 different pieces, you cannot just do the task 3 times
Why can’t I buy the microphone yet?
You need to find all 3 pieces of music on the keyboard, then all 3 on the bass guitar, then all 3 on the drum kit, then all 3 on the guitar and then you will be able to buy the microphone
I cannot find one of the pieces, what should I do?
Some take longer to get than others to find so just keep going, you will find them eventually!
Adulthood Quest
How do I send my sim to the park?
Go to the park and click on the whistle next to a sim who isn’t busy on the simtracker
Do I need to use a teen for these tasks?
No, all can be done with an adult
How do I call a sim to the swim center?

Do I need the snow park to complete this quest?
Yes you do, you cannot complete the goal to visit the snow park without it
You cannot do this at a neighbours town, quest goals can only be completed in your town
How do I send my sim to the swim center?

I don’t have the option to feed or investigate the pigeons, why?
Make sure you using an adult sim
How do I search garbage for a cupcake?
Kick over the trash can first then you will get the option

What are discovery quests?

Why can’t I do a discovery quest yet?
You cannot do more than one discovery quest at the same time, if you are currently on another discovery quest you will not be able to do another one until that is completed
Can I do discovery quests at the same time as a main quest?
Yes you can
Do I have to do a discovery quest?
If you don’t start the quest you don’t have to do it at all but if you have already started it you need to complete it before you can move on to the next quest
I haven’t started a discovery quest yet, will it still be available when I want to do it?
Yes it will be, you can choose to start it whenever you like
What happens if I don’t complete in the time limit, can I still finish a quest?
Yes you have to finish it before you can move onto the next discovery quest

How do I start this discovery quest?
Build the sorcerous supplies store to start this quest
Does the time limit start when I click to build or once the building has complete?
Once it has finished building the quest and time limit will begin
Why can’t I do this discovery quest yet?
You cannot do more than one discovery quest at the same time, if you are currently on another one you will not be able to do this one until that one is completed
Is it possible to complete this quest in the time limit?
Yes it is
How do I unlock the door to the wand room?
Select randomly rearrange
How do I place the magic wand podium, I can’t find it!
It will be in the hobby and career items section of your inventory
Everytime my sim gazes into the crystal ball it says ‘this place is too crowded’ why?
If you already have a sim at the wizards cottage you will get this message, use the simtracker to go to the sim who is already there instead of using the crystal ball
Can I do all the distract a mummy tasks at the same time?
No you can’t, you can only do them one at a time
How do I pack up the magic wand podium?
Click on it to pack up
The magic wand podium has disappeared once I’ve picked it up! How do I complete the hobby?

A sim will only age when you are on the game and these times do not mean your sim will age after its been that many days, they need to do the amount of actions that add up to that many days first.

I have a question for the sims mobile game. When I have a baby with a partner (not adopt) will the child be or randomly generated in looks or will he/she have mixed genetics of one or both parents? In Sims Freeplay the child’s appearance can be altered to look like either parents, blue eyes from dad and red haired from mom. I have two children one already an adult. The boy had red hair and the girl had short black hair. The mother’s hair style resembles the daughter except she has long hair and the father has brown hair. One person on my friends list had a mother and daughter with pink hair, so I wonder if it’s part of the whole generation/legacy thing that is part of the family tree?
I haven’t had enough children yet to work out if they do look the same as their parents but I am guessing they will have some similar features but you will be able to edit them when they become playable adults
If you have salon built, you can edit your sims of all ages
We are talking about the sims mobile not freeplay, on the sims mobile you cannot edit children.

I have specific issue with horses. I had 4 horses in stables. 2 sims were performing hobby. After they finished, they were both moved with 4 horses to one of my houses (not by my action, this happened automatically – never happened before).
The situation now is…I have 4 horses (plus 2 other pets) in one of my house and have no idea how to take them back to stables.

Okay, so I tried searching for my question’s answer in the Getting Married and FAQ posts but couldn’t find it.
My question is, If I make 2 sims romantic and then get them engaged, and after engagement move the woman to the man’s house (i.e. both live together), are they able to get married then. I ask this because I’m facing the same scenario and I read somewhere on the EA site that it can’t happen and one of the Sims has to move out.

Honestly I’m not really sure, why does someone have to move out if you have room to move the female sim in once they are engaged? Hello, I’m experiencing a glitch with adding a baby. I want to add a baby to a household, but it’s coming up that another sim is already being added to the town. I have currently 2 married sims living in this house and I still have spaces to add more sims. I’m not currently adding any sims to the town and there’s no buildings under construction. My sim town count is 23/25 so I have 2 empty slots. I need to add a baby for the life dreams and legacies quest but I am unable to. I’m on level 34 and have done the baby quest and the nanny quest. I have tried restarting my device, reloading the game and placing the crib in my inventory and taking it out again but nothing is working. All help is appreciated, Thankyou 🙂
There was an issue with the sim count in the previous update, this should now be fixed in this update so update your game if you haven’t already. In the current event (Hair Today, Gone Tommorrow) I already unlocked the pottery station the last time I did it, but now when I try to use it it says that I have to wait until I unlock it.

Do you know the best way to contact EA about a purchase from the FreePlay store that messed up? I purchased the Infant Cot pack and got charged plus the VIP points, but the option to buy it is still there and I didn’t get the items in the home store like I should have.

I tried the restore purchases option which is how I got the VIP points for that pack, but it didn’t give me the dot or mobiles. And when I try hitting it again it tells me I’ve already restored my purchases so I guess I’ll need to contact them.

For baby cots, do the ones with more stars shorten the amount of time it takes to deliver the baby? I have two of the one-star cots and do not want to buy one with a higher star value unless they can shorten that 24 hour delivery time. All the better cots cost LPs, which I have, but am saving for emergencies.

Hi! I’ve been looking a round for a while to see if I can find the answer, but I haven’t found it yet, so here goes! I recently moved to VIP 10, which increased my town to 35. I only have 34 Sims, so I’ve been trying to add the extra Sim to an empty house, but the option to add a Sim to an empty house is still greyed out, no matter which house I try! I don’t have any babies waiting to be born, or any women going through the pregnancy option. I’ve got plenty of empty houses, too. I was just wondering if I have missed something obvious, or if it’s the game having a funny five minutes?! Thank you!

In the Lovey Dovey Balcony Quest, I accidentally clicked listen instead of chat with the grim reaper. Now my sim and the grim reaper are stuck and I can’t do anything, not move the sim out or cancel, or even see the time. I’m very scared, please help!
Try fully closing the app and then open it again, this should stop them listening so you can complete the task
My Make-up Hobby Simmies have stopped getting rewards. When they’re finished, they just stand there. Nothing pops over their heads, no goals won, no money or anything. Why did this hobby glitch up like that?

Last time I had sims I bought LPs but got bored and deleted the game without thinking, I’ve re-downloaded it recently with no progress on, could I get my LPs back or not?
You could try pressing restore purchases in settings but I am not sure if you can get money back if you have already spent it
Any chance of a competition list &/or listing of what personality goes with what hobbies? Like figure skating goes with the sporting personality!

You’re my google go-to whenever I’m doing a quest on Sims FreePlay 😄 I just wanted to ask for some advice, I’m not sure if you’ll know or not but if I upload my game progress to the cloud, will it stay in there even if I delete the app? I’m at a pretty good point in the game but I need to reset my phone so all my apps will be deleted and I don’t want to lose where I am 🙄
Thanks! Yes as long as you definitely save it before you delete it you will be able to download the saved data when you reinstall the game without losing any progress 🙂
do you know approximately how many simoleons you get from unused resources during live events? just curious because I would rather have the simoleons than the event items haha. also, thanks so much for your blog! many ppl I’m sure really appreciate all u do for us playing the game:))

1simoleon per 2 objects! for example if you finish with 1000 objects unused it gives you 500 simoleons!
If I skip a quest will I still get it’s award? (Ex: i’m on a social quest, and I can’t find the thing i’m Looking for, so I wanna skip it, but will I still get a social point?)
Yes if you skip with LP you will get the SP reward.
Hello. Firstly thank you so much for this website. It is incredibly helpful. I am just wondering if you have ever encountered a Christmas quest? This just came up in my game and I see no posts regarding it. Is this something new? I’m just curious as maybe it’s supposed to be a sort of Christmas in July thing? Clearly it’s not the holiday season. Have you ever gone through this quest before? Thanks.

You’re welcome and I’m glad you found it! Yes its definitely odd for this time of year but it is a player favourite event so loads of players wanted this to return and Christmas is generally a very busy update so there would be no time for it then
Hi. I was just wondering if you can have two games saved to the cloud at the same time on the same device on Sims free play?
I really wouldn’t recommend it! It wouldn’t work so well on the same device as you will need to have two accounts to save the games to and you would need to keep logging out of one to log into the other and upload saved data and download save data before you play the next game but if you make a mistake you could end up losing one of the games
I have several Sims whose family relationships are messed up. Children not showing related to their parents, kids showing siblings when they were born in different households to different parents, etc. Have you ever had that problem? Any advice?

Is there a sims freeplay Halloween quest in 2018, if so when does it start?
From the picture they posted on their twitter the other day it looks like Night of the Candy Monster will be returning but I have no idea when or if that is actually the case, I am sure we will all find out soon though

l’d like to know if there’s a limited number of Sims in the town, and l would also like to know whenever a Sim dies, will it be as hard to get a new Sim as now (level 54)? Before l was able to have a new Sim within a month because l lcould evel up easily, but now it’s been harder to do so. (Almost three months) l’m asking you this, because I’d like to know if it’s worth to let a Sim die or not.

The maximum amount of sims you can have in your town is 34. This post shows you what levels you unlock a new sim at: https://thegirlwhogames.blog/2019/01/14/the-sims-freeplay-how-many-sims-can-i-have-in-my-town-when-do-i-unlock-them/ you can see in the post as you reach the higher levels you unlock a new sim every other level rather than every level.
I was on level 54 for almost a year before I reached the max level 55 the other day so it does take some time, but you will unlock a new sim when you reach that level.
When a sim dies your sim count will go down and then you can replace them with a new sim, for example, if you have 20 sims and one of them dies your sim count will go down to 19 and will only go back up to 20 when you add a new sim

I am at max sims, and at the highest level. Is there anything fun to do to advance the game or do I just have to wait til I get to the next quest? I’m pretty bored with giving them goals to earn orbs. I’ve built out everything so I don’t need them anymore.
You can build some great houses while you wait! New quests and events appear quite regularly so you don’t usually have to wait that long
Hi, i want to enter the pregnancy quest but i have reached the limit of 55sims in town, is there anyway to get rid of one Sims so that i can add one baby into the town. Without completing the “Life Dreams” quest? Like move away one sims. Thanks a lots

I have a problem after villa quest, there’s always an experience collecting symbol in simtown icon, but i can’t find any place that its experience needs collecting!

What happens when you buy a customized architect house but you don’t yet have store or inventory access in your own game to some of the furniture that’s shown in the house. For example things that are only available to buy at higher game levels, or that were only available in previous quests you missed, or only seem available with real cash purchases, etc. Do you get the items as advertised/shown in the house for sale? Or would you get a house that is only partially furnished with the furniture that you’ve earned access to and missing the things that you haven’t earned yet?
You will get all the items in the house as shown but for example if you hadn’t unlocked preteens yet and you stored a preteen bed you wouldn’t be able to find it again until you unlocked preteens to access that part of the store/inventory
Great, thanks! There have been some great architect houses but they are so pricey. I wanted to make sure I would get them as shown before buying any.
So i think I’ve completed all the quests, i looked at your list of main quests and discovery quests and i’ve Completed them all. I’m on level 35 and idk what to do now, do you know if there are any more quests to do? Also why do live events need social points to speed up actions? And when you use social points to speed up things in live events the action might only be 2 hours but you need like 10 sp? Xx
New quests are added all the time, each update they add new events and most updates a new discovery quest becomes available so there are always things to do. You will have to ask the makers about why we have to speed up with SP for live events though, I think it is just a way to make them more difficult to complete in time!

I’m confused on some functionality problems regarding fire poles. There’s a fire pole in the stairs category called “Rusty Firepole” and another called “Functional Firepole”. I’m wondering if the Rusty Firepole will still work(or is it solely for decoration purposes(?)). Or will I need to buy the Functional Firepole?

Quick question. Been playing for years but this one has me stumped.
“Bought” a baby and then left the house…came back later (it was ready) and I can’t find it. Anywhere. Lol. Checked every house, tried to put in a new crib in each one. NaDa. It’s still says “can’t add a sim until this one is ready” so I know it’s somewhere…ugh anyone had this issue?
Checked the households/family and it’s not showing, of course since it hasn’t been born yet…
Any ideas?

My inventory keeps saying I have 12 items, they won’t go away and I can’t figure out which ones they are. They aren’t new or featured. I went though my bathroom section and put every item in a home and it took it down by one but I can’t figure out which ones to get rid of
That is very strange, the only new items I can think would be in your inventory are ones you have brought from the promotions r us store, they will be in the hobbies and career items section so try placing anything in that section and see if that helps
